Kinda? I've been itching to buy some new art so I gotta peep all the new artists!

It's been a few years since I've been on FA so what's up? How's it going! I see a lot of people have closed up shop, but who's still around?

Little life updates since I've last been around

-i'm married now! to the cutest and sweetest pup in the world <3
-we've moved a couple times (we're about to move again, but still in TX unfortunately lol)
-my mental health is a bit better but still flies around
-i'm back in college! which is a huge thing for me, i honestly never thought i'd go back
-i've picked up a pretty serious houseplant hobby
-i've also started crocheting more again!!
-if anyone wants yarn tails (not crocheted but brushed out yarn), i miiiiight start making them again, but that's a very tentative might!
--however, i might be interested in trades for crocheted goods ;) just hmu sometime and let me know what you're looking for!

It has been over a year since I have posted here on FA and for that I wanted to say that I am sorry.

I know that I'm not an artist or anything like that, but I do love following the artists that i do and I love the friends that I've met here on FA.

The last year has been full of stress, family issues, mental and physical health issues, but most importantly GROWTH.

The last big update journal I had written was talking about how our old roommate was kicking us our and then was followed by a big thank you to the people who helped spread the word of our misfortune and helped us out. We got into an apartment, albeit it wasn't great, but it was a roof over our heads!

The first few months after moving in were tough, we had only one car, I was only able to work part time, we had to give up our dog and we couldn't afford internet. For the last year I feel like I've been sitting in the dark away from all of the things that I loved the most. I started feeling really out of touch with the things that I loved the most, roleplaying, gaming, the furry community. There wasn't really anything to keep me connecting to all of my favorite hobbies and the wonderful people I've met online.

Since 2017 I've been struggling with my mental health and being without the things I used to love so much made it even harder. My bipolar and anxiety were really running me into the ground. I'm very lucky to have the support system that I have because I am certain that without them I would not have made it through the last year alive.

Now things are so different. I'm in an awesome apartment with my wonderful fiance and one of my closest friends, I've become a store manager at a sex shop out here in DFW, we now have two cats who keep me plenty of company whenever I am home alone and I could not wish for more. I am so happy right now.

Coming back to FA has been pretty big for me. I've lurked around the last week or so to see if anyone I knew before is still around (which sadly it seems that not a lot of them are, even worse it seems that my shitty brain has forgotten some people too. it makes me feel p bad. i am so sorry if i have forgotten you!!!!!!)

I just wanted to post an update to let everyone know that I am still alive and well and planning on coming back to the community at full force!!!

I do however think, I am gonna make a new account for my new fursona and probably retire this old main account of mine. There's a lot of things that have changed since I've been online last, a lot of friends who are no longer part of the community. I just think it's time for a fresh start!

It was awesome to have someone care enough to help us out.

We made what we needed to get our apartment! Our next couple of weeks will be rough, but at least we have a place to stay!!

My fiance and I are being kicked out by our roommate. We weren't told why, other than we don't follow the "square rules" which were never elaborated or explained to us.

I hate to ask this kind of stuff, but I did make a Go Fund Me for my fiance and I. We only have until the 1st to get out. I hope everyone can share this with their friends and help us raise money to get back to a safe place!

Drawing and doodling, maybe some painting. I wanna get good at something and I won't get good if I don't practice!

So with that being said, what should I practice? Right now I'm sketching up some fanart for Leslie Odom Jr because he has the voice of an angel and deserves all the art uvu

But maybe I should practice sketching? Body parts? Humans? Animals? Aliens? Landscapes? Should I paint or nah? What should I do?!

DO NOT SEND PAYMENTS AS "GIFTS" You will be risking your commissioners account and that is really really bad.

Artists, REQUEST PAYMENT THROUGH INVOICES. It lets YOU control how money is sent.

Commissioners, DO NOT SEND PAYMENT unless you send it through "for goods and services." If your artist requests 'send as gifts' BEFORE you send payment, tell them about the $2,500 fine per violation, as they probably do not know about it.

Yes, paypal fees suck, but it's better to have a few dollars missing than to get fined $2,500 for a $20 purchase.

Colloquial Name: Gumus

-Appearance: Gumus are bear like creatures made entirely of candy. With gumdrop hearts and gummy worm intestines, they're the ultimate sweet, with most of them looking like different candies. They often smell of whatever candy they look like, and if they do not look like a candy, will generally smell like citrus fruits. They are all genderless, though most identify as either gender neutral or male. Very rarely do any identify as female.
-Reproduction: They reproduce by taking goo from themselves and another bear, forming it to create a new bear. This means that more than two parents are possible, and in fact, are even common. One parent is very rare, and can end in both of them dying due to being unable to grow the necessary body parts in time.
-Temperament: They tend to be very friendly and loving, rubbing cheek sacs with those they are close to, and holding hands whenever possible. An unfriendly disposition is rare, and often is connected with being infected.
-Infection: Infected bears are those who are growing mold of some kind. The most common areas for this are: Chest, arms, legs, and head, though rare cases of tail infections have been reported. Though many are also friendly, they have a 30% chance of being cruel, violent, or just mean, the highest of any kind of bear.

They have four different types of tails
-None: Bears with no tail are extremely low in the hierarchy, being unable to mate at all. They are the friendliest of all the bears, and infected bears with no tail will never get the mean gene.
-Short: Bears with a short tail are the next level up. These bears are generally shy, but friendly, preferring to run away rather than interact with anything new. Short tail bears CANNOT get infected, likely due to their avoidance of anything that could infect them.
-Medium: Medium tailed bears are curious, friendly creatures. While not the most easily infected, they are close, due to their tendency to sniff and poke at anything new. This often will end with them getting injured, making a medium tailed bear not an uncommon sight. However, they are more rare than the short tailed bears, and much more rare than bears with no tail at all.
-Long: Long tailed bears are the highest on the hierarchy, and are the most likely to both get infected, and acquire the mean gene. This is likely due to their tails being dragged along them often. These bears tend to enjoy letting others care for them, which may also affect the rate of cruelty in them. *Long tailed bears are 60% likely to have the mean gene

Mean Gene
-Type 1. Grouchy: These bears are just grouchy, unfriendly, and gruff. They don't often like making friends, and when they do make friends, can be emotionally abusive.
-Type 2. Mean: These bears do not care if what they said offended you, because they wanted to say it. While they won't go out of their way to hurt people, they do not care if they do hurt you. This type of bear will occasionally say mean things for the fun of it, but often just says them because they thought it.
-Type 3. Cruel: These bears are likely to lash out, saying mean things for the fun of it. They enjoy seeing other bears cry, and aren't above tripping other bears, just to see them fall.
-Type 4. Needy: These bears need everything to be perfect, and expect you to bow down to them and make it so. These are the royal types, often expecting to be waited upon hand and foot. When they do not get what they wish, they will attempt to infect the offending bear.
