A change in structure

Hey everyone, there are some incoming changes to how we do business around here.
As some of you are well aware, we have been going through some difficult mental health times lately. We've been pushing ourselves too hard, and trying to go to far above and beyond. So we're changing how we do some things, to help not drive ourselves insane.
The first one, and this is the biggest, is that we're going to stop treating the daily streams as mandatory. When a person buys a commission they are purchasing the finished art product, not the show of creating it. By treating everything as mandatory streaming, we're essentially doing two jobs for the price of one, and taking on twice as much stress. We still will stream some things, hopefully more personal projects too ^^.
The second thing, and this ties into the first, is that if you feel like you have to have your piece streamed then we can try to find a time that works for you and make sure to stream it at an additional cost. This cost is 20 percent of the base piece, and that's regardless of whether you want to have that as a public stream or a personal stream. So that lowers the cost of future private streams, and incentives us to stream pieces. Streaming something and having to have something on a specific schedule is a lot more work, so we hope that you all don't mind ^^
Third thing has to do with timing of completion on pieces. We will continue to work on everything in the backlog as fast as we can within reason. For everything new, excluding large animation pieces obviously, we will have all new commissions completed within a week of their purchase.
Lastly, our hours are getting a little less organized. We're going to be around getting these commissions done on time as mentioned in the third part, and of course we're going to be around for scheduled paid stream times as mentioned in the second part, but otherwise we will be working on these pieces at our own pace. The hope here is to allow Rage the time and creative freedom to really be able to make these pieces shine.

And now a splash of color!
Posted 7 years agoIntroducing color options to my sketch and clean sketch. I'm tired of drawing everything all black and white all the time (greyscale) or just not coloring at all, so after thinking about it for a while I'm introducing an option to get these things colored at what I believe to be a decent price. Coloring for these things is a flat $15 dollar increase, so the price of a colored sketch is $40 and the price of colored clean sketch is $55.

I've received and heard everyone's comments that I don't update enough and am looking to fix that. Now that I'm getting the swing of my new work flow I figured it was time that I start uploading things regularly again, but first I want to get my large backlog of un-uploaded things out there for everyone to see. This weekend I'm going to be going over the commissions and other artworks that I've done over the last few months, choosing the ones that I think are the best, and uploading them. Moving forward from there I am going to be uploading higher end pieces as they are finished. I apologize in advance for flooding everyone's submission boxes.

In regards to my newly expanded commission options.
Posted 7 years agoHey everyone. As some of you may have noticed, there is some new information in the pricing footer of my journals. Namely of course I'm talking about the expanded animation information as well as the new commission option “Clean sketch.” I'd like to take some time to address any questions and explain what all of this means.
First off, the animations. This is the way that I've been doing it for the longest time, but information here has been vague, and I'm looking to make things clearer and more transparent for my wonderful commissioners. Basically, animation is bought in 5 second, uncolored intervals, that may be a loop, a scene, or part of a larger animation. This is the price for those 5 seconds. In addition I'm making clear the coloring costs of my animations. I love working on animations, and in fact am about to work on and finish up a BUNCH more of them, so stay tuned ^^
Second off, the “clean sketch.” Many of you already know and already purchase this option, but I have yet to make the information more wide spread available. The clean sketch is an improved sketch that I do (charging greyscale prices because it takes greyscale amounts of time.) The clean sketch is an improved sketching technique that I'm working on where I use a layering technique to find everything that I might have missed in my sketching, giving the finished piece quality closer to a greyscale or higher end work than my basic sketch. Of course I don't do a poor job on my sketches, this is just more time spent to make it look like a higher quality drawing.

Case of the mondays
Posted 7 years agoSo first had to discuss details with a client, that ended up being really stressful and taking a really long time (but everything is worked out now, and he's a really great guy so that helps ^^)

Final price adjustment of 2018
Posted 7 years agoHey guys, as some of you recently saw on Picarto, I'm having a bit of trouble with my mate right now over the state of him helping me with my work lately. Having him help me has been super helpful, I've been completing artworks much faster than when I was on my own, which has been great. However I have not been being fair to him, really unable to pay him for his hard work because I didn't want to raise prices again despite him sometimes working 12 hour shifts, and I know that isn't right.
So starting immediately on all new commissions I'm going to be increasing prices just slightly. Roughly 15%. I apologize to all of you that I have to bump up my prices again, but I have to do what's right. It was really crushing him to be spending all that time working hard for nothing but my approval.
I hate that I have to raise prices though, so I'm going to be making a promise right here. These are the prices for 2018. I will not be raising prices again until the first of 2019, where I will re-evaluate things from there. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.
As always when prices are adjusted, this of course only affects future commissions and in no way affects things already paid for.

A necessary pricing edit regarding multiple characters

I have a necessary announcement to make, and I'm sorry to have to make out of the blue like this. I usually like to check with people well before changing my prices but this feels like a necessity.
As you know, up until this point, each additional character, regardless of the type of artwork that I'm doing, has been only an additional $5-$10. This feels absolutely bonkers to me. While they share a background, adding a second character to a piece is basically doubling the amount of work that I have to do for a piece. Adding additional characters just stacks the amount of work that I have to do, with virtually no additional reward for my time and efforts. While this pricing policy has worked for sketches, when it comes to the larger things (such as animations) it means dedicating HOURS of my time for $5-$10.
I struggled for a while, figuring out what to do. I hope that everyone knows that I love making art for them. I would never want to treat any of you unfairly, but I can't continue to treat myself unfairly either. I have a wonderful and supporting fanbase, and I hope that you all continue to understand. I expect that there will probably be some backlash, but I hope that none of you will be too mad at me for this, because again I struggled to create a pricing solution that I find to be fair.
So from now on, additional characters will each be an extra 30% of the base price of that type of artwork. So for example an additional sketch character will be $6 each, while an additional greyscale character will be 10.5 each, ect. I feel like this is fair to myself and all of you, or at least the fairest that I can be in terms of compromise.
This pricing will only affect future commissions, and does not change the state of my current commissions.

There are going to be some major changes starting today in terms of how my business is handled, specifically in regards to communication concerning commissions. There are specifically two major announcements: The first being that my wonderful mate of many years is, as I've mentioned to many of you, going to be helping me during my work hours. The second is that I'm restructuring my Discord and Telegram for ease of use and organization.
I want to start of by saying that I love talking to everyone, but that maybe I love talking to everyone a little too much ^^”. I've been finding it exceedingly difficult to focus on working on commissions and talking about commissions at the same time, often getting distracted and lost in conversation. While talking to everyone is enjoyable, it leads to work taking too long, building up, and being a major stress headache. This is compounded by my general difficulties with concentration. The end result is a long work queue backlog, many people being (understandably) upset with me, and me feeling like I'm letting everyone down. Well enough with all that, I'm making a change.
From this point forward my wonderful mate Rizzian will be acting as a go-between between me and everyone during work hours, while I focus on making the best quality, sexiest smut that I can. He will be checking my inboxes for me (so that it doesn't ever take me so long to get back to anyone during my normal hours again) and acting as a representative during work hours, talking to all of you for me so that I can focus. To this effect I have given him a special position in my discord group, and he's now actively working communicating with everyone for me. When messaging about new or existing commissions please either inbox me on my Furaffinity or Inkbunny accounts, or message Rizzian on discord (@Rizzian#8968) or on telegram (@Rizzian). There are of course some things that he will be unable to help with and he will redirect you to me directly, but I ask that everyone try to go through him first for the sake of expediency and efficiency (he sits right next to me all day, it's pretty fast ^^). I understand that this change is going to take some getting used to. I ask that everyone please be patient with us during the initial adjustment period, I promise that this will end up being much better for everyone in the long run.

Now then, I have my new price sheet i've been working on to adjust my prices to be used come next month.
Here's what me and my mate have put together.
Sketches: 20$
Greyscale sketches: 35$
Inked: 55$

Inks: 95$
Animations: 160$

Emergency Commissions Needed. (Updated)

Just today i realized i was charged for a hotel reservation i had forgotten about, and i need to make up what i have lost and what i could potentially lose.
So im asking everyone for commissions of whatever they want to get me back to being stable.
Whatever you could get will save me please.
Thank you all so much for your help with me so far too <3
UPDATE: Fortunately things have calmed and i still need to make up my loss but it's not between losing a home and not.

Good news, thanks to all your help i was able to get back to being stable again. I'll continue to work hard and make more for the holidays as well.

I'm going to a furry convention called Campfire Tails here in Oregon and I'll be needing a ride to get there with my mate coming with me.

Posted 8 years agoGot the new wrist brace, it's doing wonders already, still need breaks but now it doesn't feel like i'm fucking it up.
Things will be slow for a bit while we get some new roomies moved in, but i'll be back to working as hard as i want to now.

I'm letting people know that my wrist has been hurting alot from just a few hours of work so i want to let people know that i'll be getting a brace in the mail very soon so i may work longer like ive been wanting to.
