Useful links for anyone interested in beadwork!
Posted 15 years agoI realize the post before this (Sprite Sizes and general clarification) was a huge wall of text, so I'm going to condense it down. I think I will post a bunch of links to anyone curious about how all of this stuff works.
Sprite Sizes and Pricing Information - This is exactly what it sounds like. Provides information on the size of sprites and how they relate to my beadwork. Also, there is some information on what you're paying for when you order something from me.
Beading 101: How to resize, recolor, and bead a basic sprite. - The title pretty much says it all. A basic tutorial on how to go about making a bead sprite, from finding the sprite, to re-coloring it, to ironing it.
Basic Mushroom sprite with ruler - Just a picture of a very small, basic bead sprite next to a ruler so you have a better idea of the size of these sprites.
The Spriter's Resouce - This is definitely the best place to get sprites from almost any game you can think of. Every console is covered, and there is a good supply of custom and edited sprites here, as well.
The Shy Guy Kingdom - Another good place to get sprites from tons of games. Also contains quite a few edited and custom sprites.
Video Game Sprites.Net - This is a small site, but it's great for getting sprites from most RPGs that are well known. I usually use this place because I don't have to save entire sprite sheets.
Callahan13's eBay shop - This is the eBay seller I buy all of my beads from. Her prices are the lowest I've seen online, and she's very willing to work with what you need. She had a large number of colors from all three makers, as well as ironing paper, pegboards, and all other supplies. Definitely worth looking into.
Blue N Dash - I haven't bought anything from these guys, but it seems like a few bead spriters go here to get basic colors. From what I've seen, you can get a ton of freebies from them if you order enough beads. Good for basic bead colors, but nothing too crazy.
The BeadSprites Forum - This is where I got into bead spriting. A somewhat inactive forum, but there is a ton of good information here for anyone interested. Also, it's run by a furry! I did not know this, but he commented one of my pieces the other day. Go support him!
PerlerPal - PerlerPal. A fantastic resource if you don't want to re-color sprites yourself. This is a browser based utility that will take in any image you want and essentially re-color it to match the user-made palette you specify. A good resource in the right hands, but somewhat tricky to use. Also, the palettes that are default are horribly inaccurate.
Pixelgasm[/center] - Another bead/pixel forum that is much more active. Run by Doctor Octoroc (the best damn bead spriter out there), there is a TON of great information here, as well as lots of various pixel and bead creations. Worth looking into.

Sprite Sizes and general clarification.
Posted 15 years agoGood afternoon, everyone!
It's a slow day here in Fuzztown. I'm buried under about 15 inches of snow, and I'm not doing anything at the moment, really. I figured I'd take the time to address a few questions I keep getting. I hope this clears up some questions people have!
I wanted to focus on pricing, and sprite size today. As always, if anyone has any questions, please ask away. I am more than happy to answer them for you!
When I work with sprites to create a beaded representation of them, it may not be super evident about how large the sprites are compared to the amount of beads that go into them. I work on a 1:1 ratio- that is, 1 pixel is equivalent to one bead. While this makes a lot of sense, it may not seem obvious how quickly the size can build up. Hopefully some examples will help.
My standard coaster size is 22 x 22 pixels. Click here to see what a 22 x 22 block of pixels looks like. It's not very large at all. Now, what does this equate to in actual size? Roughly 4" per side. That means that the small block of pixels above is a 4" x 4" square.
I'll provide another example. The size I am looking at for a mousepad is 50 pixels wide by 40 pixels tall. Click here to see what a 50 x 40 block of pixels looks like. Much bigger than the coaster, but again, it's not very big when it comes to what you think of as a video game sprite. When beaded, this is about 10" x 7 3/4". Furthermore, as a solid block, that is 2000 pixels, which would equal 2000 beads.
The reason I am posting all of this information is hopefully to offer some clarification to people who are curious about my spritework. I have received a few commissions that are quite simply massive, and I hate refusing them. The fact of the matter is- the larger a sprite gets, the more difficult it is to make. While that's an obvious correlation, the difficulty increases almost exponentially. It's extremely difficult to evenly iron a sprite that is on the larger side of things. This is why I don't offer very large sprites at the moment. I can easily bead them, but I'm not comfortable with ironing them and shipping them to customers.
So, the moral of the story is this. I love your interest in my work. I love your support, your curiosity, and your requests. Always keep them coming. However, if you'd like to commission something from me, I politely ask that you keep these size guidelines in mind. Realize that while the sprite may look small on screen, it isn't always small to bead up for you. Thank you!
I also wanted to write something up regarding pricing of my sprites. I constantly ask myself if I'm charging too much or too little for my work. I'm not really sure. I haven't had any complaints so far, so that's a good thing. I just wanted to clarify for my friends about what exactly you're paying for when you order something from me.
Beads- this is the first and foremost expense, obviously. I go through a lot of these. Thousands and thousands of them every week. The average sprite will be anywhere from 400-600 beads. My largest sprite is nearly 11,000 beads, and my smallest is around 220 beads. I have a supplier whom I order from that charges about $1.80 per thousand beads. This is fine, but when I'm ordering 30-40,000 beads in one order, you can see how the costs add up. Furthermore, a lot of my sprites aren't commissioned..they're just for fun.
Time- this is probably the least tangible cost of all the ones I'll list. These sprites take quite a bit of time to make. While a small simple one may only take me 25 minutes, a larger one may take upwards of 2 hours. The companion cube took me 6 hours, and the samus ship took me about 40 or 50. It's delicate work. I hand tweeze each individual bead. This doesn't even include the time preparing, cleaning, and re-coloring the sprite. Ironing is also a delicate process, and can take quite some time to do. I don't like charging for time, but as of late, it seems to be somewhat of a necessity. I'm not looking to make a ton of money off these sprites, but if I spend 3 hours making a sprite, I'd like a bit to show for it, y'know?
Shipping- I'll state first and foremost. I make absolutely no money off shipping. In fact, I probably lose a little. I charge to cover costs, nothing more. Shipping not only includes the physical postage of the sprites, but also the envelopes I purchase, the shipping labels I use, and the printer ink to print the labels (I do my shipping from home). The average sprite will weigh about 1 oz, but may go up to 3 or 4 oz. At that point, the $2 I charge for shipping is entirely eaten by the postage- this doesn't even include the label and envelope, which is about $.60 or so. I do my best not to charge too much, but now you can see why I charge what I do.
Everything else- I have a lot of other random supplies I buy for this beadwork. Ironing paper, keychains, glue, foam, etc. WHile they are only periodical purchases, I still need to make them from time to time. It all adds up.
Phew! This is a lot of text..I doubt anyone will really read this, but it was a good way to pass the time. I hope this answered anyone's curiosities that they had about my work. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm happy to do so!

ANOTHER SPRITE SALE!
Posted 15 years agoHey folks!
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3436532
Check it out- I'm having another sprite sale!
A lot of the sprites are left from last time, along with some new ones. Forgive the shittiness of some of them- my photoshop skills may have cut off some beads here and there, but you get the general idea. I do have some other misc. sprites not shown in the drawing in addition.
Anyway, prices are easy, and these include shipping.
$3:
Treasure Chest
Question Block
Coin
Smushed Link
Baby Yoshi (Each) [Blue and Red have been sold!]
Crystalis Dude
$4:
Each of the sprites in the FFVI cast (lower right corner)
Haunter
Kirby
Koopa
Goomba
Piranha Plant
Yoshi
Mega Man
Dry Bones
Crono, Marle, and Lucca
$5:
Security Eye
Lucario
Robo
Meta Knight
Samus
Regarding miscellaneous crap: I have some of the neon stuff that I was experimenting with a while back. I have pac man ghosts in yellow, green, orange, red, blue, whatever. Some have black borders, some have magnets, some don't. I also have a tiny pac man and a tiny strawberry, and two leftover mushrooms from when I was doing keychain stuff. It's like..12 misc. sprites. I'd let the lot go for $15 if anyone wants it.
IN ADDITION: My entire Street Fighter/Mega Man series is for sale! Individual sprites will be going for normal sprite prices, but I would really rather sell the entire set. There would be a significant discount on the whole thing. Just get in touch if you're interested.
I can make any of these magnets or keychains if you're interested. $1 extra for that.
If you guys have any questions, comments, or concerns, you know how to get in touch with me. Thanks so much!

Valentine's Day Blues? Read this.
Posted 15 years agoHey everybody. I've been doing some thinking, and I wanted to write a little something here.
As we all know, Valentine's Day is coming up. I have a feeling a lot of my friends are going to be bummed. It's been a tough time for relationships. I'm not excluded from this rule, either. However, I'll be straightforward about this (and I will probably sound like an ass), but I'm not gonna coddle the inevitable "I don't have a mate and it's Valentine's Day, fuck everything DDDD: T___T".
I know it sucks. We all want someone in our lives that cares about us. Someone to call a mate. Someone to hold and be with and spend our lives with. And not having those things on a holiday in which it's celebrated makes us feel left out, angry, sad, or whatever.
Listen. A LOT of you are young. Late teens, early 20's, whatever. You have a good portion of your entire life ahead of you. You're going to find someone if you want it badly enough. Love isn't easy, it never has been. True love is even harder. A small percentage of us will ever see it, but it's worth it in the end. You need patience and maturity. Moping in the corner won't get you anywhere.
Be strong. Focus on what you have, rather than what you don't have. Valentine's Day has been commercialized just like most other holidays, so it's not even that huge of a deal anymore.
If you're reading this, you have at least one friend, cause it's me. <3
You're all good people, and you will get what you're looking for. Just don't be bummed out because it's one day of the year when it happens to get a bit more focus, okay? Be strong, be happy, have a wolf hug. I care about you guys, and you should care about yourselves. I'm single and looking too, but I'm gonna use the day to get things done, and I'm gonna be happy, not upset.
To all those couples out there, enjoy the holiday, and do something special for your mates.
Thanks for reading this, and I hope it leaves a positive impact on you, and maybe a smile. <3
EDIT: The response to this post has been much, much more than I could have imagined. I'm so glad my humble message here seems to have helped out so much. Really, it's made me smile. Thank you so much, everyone.

Pricing update.
Posted 15 years agoI've added some more information to my pricing guidelines. I decided to raise prices just a bit, because these things really do take a while, and the general feedback I was getting seemed to indicate I could 'get away with it'. I hope people don't mind.
I'm not doing very good, mentally or physically. I'm not going to really go into reasons why, because FA has enough drama as it is. Just know that I may be low(er than usual) key for a while.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Have a wonderful evening, everyone. <3

Updates, Winter Blues (with BONUS DOUBLE update)
Posted 15 years agoI figured it's about time for an update.
I'm making decent progress on these Street Fighter sprites. I'm planning on 5 a day, meaning I should be done in about 2 days. Since I'm going to a Super Bowl party tomorrow, I should have them all done by Tuesday. I hope you guys like them. Ultimately, I'm hoping someone will buy the complete set, but if not, individual ones will be for sale.
I would like to update my sprite sale. I'm not sure if everyone knows it or not, but a majority of the stuff in my gallery isn't commissioned-based, and is therefore for sale. Honestly, I don't have anything to do with a lot of these sprites, so they just sit around. I'd love for people to snag 'em. Usually prices will be cheaper than commissioned work, so just ask. I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has. I will have a listing up soon and maybe some pics to show what's for sale. Would anyone like to make a collage?
Let's see.. not a whole hell of a lot going on. I think I have Winter Blues- basically, mild seasonal depression. It's not uncommon. I won't sit here and bitch and moan to everyone about it, but it simply boils to the fact that I'm lonely. Valentine's Day is coming up- I'm not one of the haters, and I'm not gonna be all miserable about it.
Anybody need a Valentine? :)
Anyway..I hope you're all well. Thank you so much for your support, understanding, and encouraging comments and feedback. It really means the world to me.
If you guys have any questions or need anything, send me a note. <3
Edit: I forgot to mention this earlier, so I will put it here. I am considering a small raise in prices for my sprites. The time and shipping costs have really been screwing me, and I really don't have enough cash in the first place. At the same time, I don't want to make these sprites prohibitively expensive either. I don't really think I charge a lot, but I have no idea what the general reaction would be. I'm figuring prices would go up $1 for both small and large sprites, $.50 for coasters and keychains, and shipping would be $2 for the first sprite, and $.50 for each additional. I'd definitely like some feedback on this.
Double Edit: I've made a small update on FuzzEd Creations. If you're curious about what it is, please check us out. We're still extremely early in the stages of development, but we're getting there. Check us out at

My huge shipment of beads came in today. I'm now fully stocked and ready to rock! Ideas, requests, commissions, lay 'em on me.
The offer still stands on the SF4 set- I will start on that sheet today, most likely. Just let me know if you want the set, we can definitely work out something.
Thanks for your support, guys. You all mean the world to me.

All the above people rule hard and you need to look at their work. <3

Any Street Fighter 4 fans out there?
Posted 15 years agoHi!
I'm asking this because
found me an awesome sprite sheet..it's basically the cast from street fighter 4 done up like they were from mega man. It's a real badass set.
The reason I want to know if any of you are fans is because I would like to make this entire set..25 sprites total. I'm hoping someone might be interested in purchasing the set as a whole. Now, yes, it would be 25 sprites, but I would sell the entire set at a reduced price. Normally, 25 sprites would cost $100 with about $14 shipping. I don't think I'd charge that much.
If anyone is interested, or has some kind of offer they'd like to make, please let me know!
Hope you're all doing well- thanks for your support and kindness!

Beading 101: How to resize, recolor, and bead a basic sprite
Posted 15 years agoThere has been some curiosity on how I go through and do my beadwork. I've never made a tutorial on anything before, but I thought I would try this out. I will document each and every step that goes into making one of my bead projects, from initial sprite acquisition to the finished product. I hope you enjoy this! If you have any questions, please ask.
Please forgive any poor image quality of pictures. The lighting in my room is rather poor.
First, some background information.
You can't really do beadwork without beads! I work with what are called fuse beads. They are readily available at most craft or jewelry stores, and come in a large variety of colors. There are three companies that make these beads- Perler, Hama, and PhotoPearl (sometimes called Nabbi). Depending on where you live in the world, some types are easier to get. Perler are the most common in the US, while Hama and Nabbi are more UK-based. I get my beads online, and my palette consists of colors from all three makers. Nabbi beads are a bit harder to come by, are a little more expensive, and have a different feel to them..they take a lot more heat to melt. There are standard colors, neon colors, and glow in the dark colors. For my beadwork, I use almost exclusively standard colors.
You will need relatively simple supplies to make a beadsprite. I use:
Tweezers.
A standard 29x29 square interlocking pegboard. Hama and Perler both make these..the one Nabbi uses is larger and has more points of interlocking.
Beads. (duh)
Ironing paper. This is usually a small sheet of unwaxed parchment, and comes with most orders or purchases of beads. Regular parchment paper works great!
An iron. Any iron will do. If it's an iron with steam, do not have steam turned on.
Image editing software. I use Photoshop CS4 Extended.
http://i46.tinypic.com/2cxjouc.png
There are many ways to go about getting the sprites you need. A google image search will usually yield various sprites, but it's best to use dedicated websites for sprite artists. Two good examples are The Spriter's Resource and The Shyguy Kindgom. Browse through there and pick the sprite you want. Make sure it's somewhat small. I'm choosing a simple sprite for this tutorial, because it'll be quicker (and I'm out of white beads D:).
I'm going to assume you have no knowledge of Photoshop..I'm sure most of you DO, but this will give a detailed step by step of what I do to get a sprite ready. Once you have your sprite picked out, open it in Photoshop. It will look like this: http://i50.tinypic.com/rqwxoh.png Go to "Image" at the top, and then "Trim". Trim the sprite so you don't have a background.
We need to see what the sprite really looks like. Select the 'zoom' tool, and then "Fit Screen" at the top. The sprite will look like this: http://i49.tinypic.com/15f3fxv.png Now, each of those squares is one bead. This corresponds to one pixel. However, this sprite is double sized. We don't want that. We need to re-size the sprite. Go to "Image" and then "Image Size". You want to make sure "pixels" is selected under the Width/Height drop down menu. Enter a value that is HALF of the original values. Also, make sure "Nearest Neighbor" is selected under the bottom drop down menu. This is what it will look like: http://i47.tinypic.com/28ldpir.png
After re-sizing, you should have something that looks like this: http://i49.tinypic.com/11tobaf.png
Great, it's the right size! However, the colors aren't perfect. I've done this enough so that I can just look at the sprite and tell you what the colors are going to be. However, some people may want to manually recolor the sprite. I already have a palette of beads set up. This is a file on my computer that I made a while back. It's extremely tedious going through it, and I don't have detailed instructions on how to do it. I can help you in private if you need it.
The key to this recolor is the "Magic Wand" tool. It's highlighted in this screenshot: http://i48.tinypic.com/10yqgj9.jpg Make sure everything highlighted is the same. Click on a color you want to change. It will highlight all pixels of that color, and nothing else. Using the "Fill" tool (highlighted, with the shown settings), select a color that matches from the "Swatches" menu and click the highlighted area, like this: http://i48.tinypic.com/2la7yar.png.
Oh shit, it's not working? No worries. I overlooked this at first, but then realized what's up. The image is in "Indexed Color" mode, whatever the fuck that means. You need to change that. Refer to this screenshot: http://i50.tinypic.com/2cohgn5.png Make sure the mode is set to "RGB Color", and then refer to the steps above, working with each color. As shown in this screenshot, the colors will then change, and you have your sprite prepped and ready to go!
This is the most time consuming part of making a bead sprite. Each pixel on your sprite is one bead. If you've resized and recolored the sprite properly, it's just a matter of putting each bead on the pegboard. This can take a LONG time, but that's just how it is.
Ugly pictures incoming. Once your sprite is beaded, it will look like this: http://i49.tinypic.com/s64ra1.png. We need to iron it. Lay the ironing paper over the sprite, like this: http://i45.tinypic.com/2s9yro3.jpg. Plug in your iron, and let it heat up. Every iron is different, but you want to use a medium-low setting. This is between "Wool" and "Silk" on my iron. On a scale of 1-10, maybe a 4.
Once your iron is heated, press it very gently into the ironing paper, over the sprite. Using very little pressure, move the iron in a slow circular pattern over every part of the sprite. Do this for about 30 seconds. You're looking for the beads to bleed through the paper a little. It should look something like this: http://i49.tinypic.com/amsdci.jpg. This is where experience comes in..once the beads look melted to the point you want, remove the iron and put something flat and heavy over the sprite. You want it to cool, so it doesn't curl up. After a few minutes of cooling, carefully remove the ironing paper from the sprite, take it off the pegboard, flip it over, and repeat the ironing process again, making sure both sides are as even as possible.
Once it's cooled, you're done! Viola, that's a bead sprite.
I've definitely learned a few things in doing all this beadwork. I'm still quite a novice in the beading community (the professional artists are really something to be in awe of), but I'm competent enough.
1) Don't make your iron too hot! This is the easiest way to fuck up a bead sprite. Too much heat will cause the dreaded 'shiny finish' on your beads. It looks awful, and it warps the sprite quite horribly.
2) Weigh and cool your sprites. After you iron the sprite on the top side, try and remove it from the pegboard, lay it on a flat surface, and put a book on top of it. This is essential to prevent the sprite from curling.
3) Certain colors of bead melt much faster than others. Perler White and Perley Grey are especially vulnerable. Nabbi beads take a lot more heat to melt than Perler and Hama beads.
4) Patience is your most valuable asset when making sprites, especially with bigger ones. Wait a good 10 minutes for a sprite to cool before moving to the other side. Make sure every bead is ironed down so you don't get any non-fusing or lifting.
5) Have a fucking good time. Seriously.
This pretty much covers every step I can think of. If anyone has any questions or comments or wants to know more, I am more than happy to answer them. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this!

Definitely spam. (Not actually spam.)
Posted 15 years agoI'm doing it again. Another journal entry. I almost feel bad about making another, but meh.
But yeah, I wanted to run two things by you guys, just to get feedback..I love feedback.
I already mentioned the other one in a previous entry, but I'll bring it up again so it's more out in the open.
1. I was thinking about maybe making mousepads out of beads. Essentially, they would be made in the style of my coasters, but on a larger scale. Totally customizable. From what I've seen, these will work just fine with optical mice. If you have a traditional ball mouse (get a new damn mouse!), I don't know if they'll work. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't, though.
2. Would you guys want me to make a tutorial on doing bead sprites? It seems like a lot of people have questions about them, or are just curious. I'd be more than happy to do a step by step on this kind of thing, if anyone would like to know how I do it.
Nothing real big or huge update-wise. I will probably manage my inventory of beads tonight and place an order so I'm good to go for a while. Requests or ideas are always welcome. Commissions are quiet at the moment, but I'm definitely open for any.
I hope everyone's having a good day. My new TV is bitchin' cool, even though it's old. <3

No longer UGH! (with realistic updating action!)
Posted 15 years agoHi folks!
I'm happy to report that I'm doing much better now. This weekend was pretty awesome, and I have a few people to thank for that. My buddy, who I simply call Barnum (that's his last name), stopped by. We had an awesome time just hanging out, playing games, shootin' the shit.
Anyway, I went back over to his place, where I then went to my very first LAN party. It wasn't anything huge (there were about 8 of us), but we had an awesome time. I finally got to try out Left 4 Dead 2! Great game, lotsa zombie ass kicking. Approval from this wolf.
Went back to his place and enjoyed the smoothness of high speed internet..torrents FTW. Barnum is a very generous friend..he not only gifted me L4D2, he also gave me a very nice MP3 player, bought me dinner, and gave me a 27" TV. Fuckin' A, right?
It was great to be out with people. I missed hanging out with friends..it was starting to be something I wasn't familiar with.
Furthermore, got to talk with
finally. She's awesome. Talked for like..3 hours, and it just did wonders for my mood. Fucking awesome.
Thanks so much for all your support, guys. You're great people, and it means the world to me. <3!!
UPDATE: My buddy Barnum had a good idea for something that I wanted to run by you guys..I can make coasters with these beads, and they work great..but what about mousepads? Essentially, it would be a much larger version of the coaster. Now, I have no idea what size I would make them, but from what I've seen, a mouse can move over these things pretty smoothly, without a loss of tracking. What do you guys think?
Random pimping to do:
- She's a young artist, but shows a lot of talent for her age. She's really nice, her art is decent, and her prices are great. Give her a look, maybe a watch, and lots of feedback. She's pretty awesome.
- One of my best friends who doesn't get enough credit for her work. She's real busy with prepping for MegaCon at the moment, but her art is awesome and hilarious, and you should check it out.
- This guy makes some awesome stuff, and could really use some commissions. Help a friend out, he's real sweet and it'll make his day.
- She needs commissions! Her art is good, and cheap! Really friendly and kind, she could use some support from all of us.
- More pimping for this amazing artist. She's awesome, her art is great, and she's a freaking hydralisk. Funny as hell, too. Give her some lovin'. But not in the butt. She has blade arms.
- This person is awesome. She's retarded and amazing. Throw something shiny at her, and she'll love ya forever. Seriously, she's hilarious, and nice, and great, and deserves hugs from all of us.

Thanks so much for all your support, guys. You're great people, and it means the world to me. <3!!
UPDATE: My buddy Barnum had a good idea for something that I wanted to run by you guys..I can make coasters with these beads, and they work great..but what about mousepads? Essentially, it would be a much larger version of the coaster. Now, I have no idea what size I would make them, but from what I've seen, a mouse can move over these things pretty smoothly, without a loss of tracking. What do you guys think?

Ugh.
Posted 15 years agoHey folks.
It's been an interesting week for me. Not very good in any sense, but not too horrible, either. Below average, for sure. I'm not going to sit here and rant about it, because that's bullshit. I just need to type something because I just..need to. So there.
I'm listless. I haven't had a lot of human contact the past few days. Not a lot of friends to hang out with, even less that are available and can come over (I live in the middle of nowhere). This has combined with quite a bit of anxiety, stress, loneliness, and general bullshit to form a pretty big shit stew. I'll be alright, but man, this funk sucks. I'm just trying to keep myself busy.
I mailed out 8 envelopes full of sprites today. Pintear, if you're reading this, your sprite is waiting to go out. I have to get to a post office in order to mail it out. It'll go soon, I promise. Thanks for your patience. <3 thewonderhorse, your stuff will be out soon, too.
Let's see here..getting lots of pressure from all sides about getting a job. The market is crap, and I have no experience. Fundage will hold out for a few months, but it fucking sucks. Anyway, this is FA, not a place for that. Sorry.
Ran out of white beads today. This is a problem. I will have to order more, but I really don't want to. Beads are fuckin' expensive.
I'm bitching a lot. My apologies. I just needed to put something out there, y'know?
Anyway, how are you all doing? Any bullshit in your life? Need an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on? Let me know. I like helping.
Have a great evening everyone.

Yet more updates.
Posted 15 years agoI'm real sick of putting "Updates" in my journal entry titles, y'know? I need more exciting things to put..
Anyway, here's what's up.
I updated my profile information today. I think it was a bit long-winded, and reading back through it..I sounded like a big asshole. I'm certainly a bit rough around the edges, but I'm not a douche bag. Hopefully the re-write makes that a bit clearer.
Huge apology to anyone that's waiting on their sprites! Due to some stupid bullshit, I have NOT been able to get them mailed out yet. However, I am going out tomorrow and I should be able to get everything mailed then. I really, really, REALLY appreciate your understanding and patience about this. Thank you.
Bolded for emphasis. I'm truly sorry about the long wait..I really don't want to treat my customers like that.
Let's see.. FuzzEd is coming along slowly!
is a busy husky, so we haven't been able to crank out much as of yet. She's still tweaking her own sprite, but you can see an example of her stuff on there if you go. [Here] is the link if you want to see what we have so far. It's not much, but a big thanks to everyone who's watching us so far!
Things are rather quiet around here. The job search continues. I'm looking for slightly larger sprites to do, as they're better practice for my ironing once I move on to the really advanced (4000+ beads) projects which I'd like to do.
Certainly open for any requests at the moment. I was trying to find some really classic sprites..can you guys think of any video game series that are seriously definitive? I'm thinking sprites that people who don't even play video games can go "Hey, that's [blah]! Awesome." I've already done like..Mario, Sonic, Zelda, etc. Maybe I should be thinking older? Suggestions would be great. Also, if you guys come across any really cool custom sprites, I'd love to do some of those, too.
I wanted to also send a huge thanks to all of my watchers and supporters. You guys have been great to me, and it means the world to have your feedback and comments on my work. Thank you so much, guys!

Do YOU wanna get FuzzEd up?!
Posted 15 years agoOkay folks, check THIS out.
I've done a lot of talking with
. We've gone into business together!
Here's what we're offering:
We can create a custom sprite of your character's head (for now!), which I will then turn into a bead sprite! Essentially, you can turn yourself into one of my beadsprites, if you'd like! This is a new thing for the both of us, but we're hoping it works out.
Here's how it works:
Check out our site! You can find it [here]. Mind you, this site was JUST made, so we will add a ton more once things get going.
is in charge of making the sprites.
I am in charge of making the bead sprites.
There will be more information on the site as time goes on. However, this entry is just a promotion for it.
So do it to it! Go get yourself made out of BEADS! IT'S AWESOME.

Posted 15 years agoHi folks!
I guess this is another call for requests, though this time, there's special criteria. I have these neon colored beads, that are essentially junk beads. I don't use them because they're slightly see-through..and they just look different compared to normal beads.
Here are the colors: http://i45.tinypic.com/2wp16v6.jpg
The black and blue, I only have a limited quantity of. The green, rellow, 'red', and orange, I have a bunch of. I also have a limited amount of clear beads.
What sprites do you think I could make with these colors? I'm not going for color matching, but what could I made with these beads that would look really funky in neon colors?
EDIT: You guys have come up with some awesome ideas. Thanks so much!
So far on the list of potentials:
Halo Stuff
Baby Yoshis
Pac-Man art
Bowser Jr.

Shipping from home now!
Posted 15 years agoI ordered a postal scale tonight, along with some USPS adhesive print-out shipping label bullshit things. My intention is to weight, print, and ship all my stuff from home now, instead of having to wait for someone to go to the post office to ship my stuff out.
Does anyone have any experience in this? Is it awesome? Am I being foolish? It was a bit of an investment, but I'm hoping it works out. I <3 you guys for the commissions you give me. Those will be sent out shortly, by the way. Thanks for everyone's patience.
On a sad note, my headset broke today. :( I'm down to one speaker (the other half of it still works) and the mic. I have no speakers, because I had to send them back. Dammit.
Everything else seems okay. Hope everyone is doing well.

Anybody got any requests?
Posted 15 years agoThe title pretty much says it all.
I'm getting a bit squirmy. Waiting on beads to come in and some payments on commissions so I can crank those out. I'd let to get more art up, though..so I'm blatantly posting this journal entry in hopes of getting someone to contribute a request.
Keep 'em small. 40 x 40 or less if you can. I'd love to hear what you have to say.
Random pimping.
and
If you haven't seen their art yet, GO NOW. I've pimped out Elle a few times already, but Rikkoshaye deserves a bunch of love, too. She's a great person, and her art is unique. Plus, she's a freaking Hydralisk. How many furries do you know that are Hydralisks? Seriously. Go look at them. Fave them. Watch them. Shower them with love, and nothing else.

I can't think of anything appropiate for this. (UPDATED)
Posted 15 years agoI figured I needed to post something on here that was different than what was already here. I don't know.
Tonight, I'm just burning stuff to CDs and DVDs so I can free up some god damn hard drive space. I wish I had a job so I could buy more useless stuff.
I know it's been a bit for people I've commissioned from- I'm waiting on a few beads to show up, and payment from a few others. It shouldn't be that long. For those that are waiting on mailing..I haven't been able to get out much. Between lots of snow and holidays, I've been stuck.
Things seem to be going smoothly otherwise. I'm decent enough. There's drama occurring under the surface, but a journal entry on FA is not the place for it.
Oh yeah, if anyone has Steam or Skype- get in touch with me. My user name on Steam is BoxMacLeod, and Skype is box.macleod. I'm not on them that often, but I know some people don't use AIM/YIM/MSN.
Still looking for commissions. Plenty of slots left.
Any requests?
Also, go look at
. Her stuff is amazing. She needs watchers. You'll like her art, I promise. She's a great person. DO IT.
Have a great new year, furs.
EDIT: A random thought popped into my mind while browsing the web. I don't really..get around a lot on here. I don't watch a ton of people, I don't fave a lot of stuff. I feel bad doing that..almost offensive. Is it wrong that I don't like a lot of stuff?
Anyway, my original thought. I want to know if other people are like this. Every time I post a submission on here, I feel like it has the potential to like..change my life. I'm wondering if someday, someone will see one of my dumb little sprites, like my work, get in touch with me, and like..I dunno. Is it possible to find a soulmate through something like this? Maybe someone will order a huge commission that will push me to consider things more seriously..maybe it'll change the direction of my life.
Does any of this even make sense? Does anyone share a similar thought process? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Improvements, and Sprite Sale! CHECK IT OUT NOW.
Posted 15 years agoHi guys!
First of all..pimping. If you haven't already, please check out
. Her art is amazing, and she's not getting nearly enough credit for the quality of what she does. Give her your support- you won't regret it!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. If you don't celebrate Christmas, that sucks.
Anyway, I want to apologize in advance for spamming people with 'new' submissions. I got myself an awesome printer for Christmas, and it came with a scanner. Also, I'm going to extend my sprite sale until I get most of these moved out. Consider them discounted. :)
The following sprites are being sold for $3, shipped. This is basically half price.
Click the name of each sprite to see it!
Cyan
Gau
Umaro
Strago
Setzer
Gogo
Shadow
Sabin
Edgar

Posted 16 years agoHi, just a few quick updates.
All my orders are mailed out..should be arriving soon. Huge thanks to everyone for the work-- I'm just about to break even!
It's nice to not have a pile of pending stuff, though I am always looking for me. Would love to make some keychains and stuff.
Christmas is coming..I have shopping to do. I have many things to do. I just want to curl up and sleep.
My new speakers come tomorrow. Awesome.
Not much else to report besides that..might start that giant bead sprite at some point. Again, thanks everyone, for the support, for the commissions, and I hope you all enjoy your stuff. I'll be around, though I'm not sure how much I will be posting in the near future. It's nice to have a bit of a break.
Merry Christmas!

Post Outage updates
Posted 16 years agoYeah, we all know FA was down for a while. Kudos to the technical team for working their tails off getting this place back up and running. This wolf is grateful, at least.
I'm in a shitty mood, plain and simple. I don't need to go into details, and as much as I want to punch a particular person in the face, I need to direct my emotions elsewhere.
So, updates..mailed out a bunch of orders the other day. Sorry for everyone that was waiting. My bead order came in, and I actually have more coming in from
at some point, so that always helps.
I now have the materials to make keychains, and they're going to become part of my regular repertoire of bead..things. However, I'm sticking almost exclusively to these for the keychains, for now. The reasons: They're easy to do, small, and easily recognizable.
Colors are totally customizable for whatever you want. For the mushrooms, you can pick a border color (though 90% of the time it should be black), a primary color (with a 1 up mushroom, this would be green, for example), and a secondary color (the white). The bottom of the mushroom will be white with black eyes, unless you want something else. If you want an easier, less text-based solution, use this picture and MS paint or something to color your mushroom.
The Pac Man ghosts fall under the same category. Pick what colors you want for the eyes and bodies.
Prices are $5. That includes shipping.
I can't make promises on their durability. These sprites are pretty damn strong and can hold up well..but if you're real rough with them, or using them ALL the time, I simply can't guarantee they're going to last a long time. However, don't assume they're fragile. They're not.
This is just a minor thing, but I think it's somewhat necessary..I don't want to, but I'm raising the price of coasters by $.50. They're a lot of work and it just takes me a while to get them done properly. Discounts will still apply on sets of coasters though, so don't worry about that. Thanks for understanding.
I'm still open for commissions, and there is still a bit of time for Christmas presents and whatnot if you want to get your orders in. Welcome back, FA.

UPDATES and Big Ass Bead Sprite Incoming...Maybe?

Commissions. Bead order hasn't been processed yet. Should be on the 30th. I will have my new shipment in within a week, I'm sure. Z, Kyu, Baka, and Drew, your orders are ready to ship out..I haven't mailed them yet, only because I haven't been able to get to a post office..things have been really busy with Thanksgiving and other family stuff. I apologize for that. I'll let you all know as soon as they are out.
Keychains. Once more Emily helped me out with keychain stuff. I found the style I want! The issue: I have no idea if they will actually work for what I need, and I can only order the stuff in quantities that are bigger than what I need..unless there's a market out there for 72 keychains. Anyone? Eh? I'm going to get to a craft store sometime soon and I'll get some 'prototypes' made so everyone can see.
Christmas Presents. If anyone wants a sprite for a Christmas Present, you've still got plenty of time. These make great presents, and they're definitely unique. My prices aren't that bad- $6 shipped for small, $9 shipped for larger ones. Just a thought! If you need something by Christmas, get your orders in before the 15th or so.
Big Project. I think I have another huge project lined up..these are a big deal because I need to make sure I have enough of each color, and it's a lot of planning/blah blah. Anyway, here he is: http://tinypic.com/r/2wgbpqs/6 . He's only 4,335 beads, surprisingly.. (The large Samus ship was over 11,000, for comparison) but he's a big boy. That funny colored grid represents a full pegboard per square..each pegboard is about 6 inches. That should give you an indication about size.
That's about it. I'm always looking for commissions and requests. Everything remaining will get done once my beads come in. Thanks for your support, everyone. You guys are why I do this.

Feedback Requested!
Posted 16 years agoOkay guys, I have a few things I want to run by people, and I'd like to see what you all think.
I was having a talk with a few friends, and they suggested that in addition to offering individual sprites, I should sell sets from popular games. For example..I could do all the character classes from Final Fantasy I, or a group of mushrooms from the Mario Brothers series. Obviously, a set would be somewhat cheaper than ordering each sprite..hell, it might be significantly cheaper, depending. Anyway...what do you think?
Furthermore, I was looking into keychains. Talking a lot with
(<3!), I've considered making bead keychains. However, there are a few limitations with these. The sprites would have to be somewhat small..but that is a bonus for a few reasons. They're more durable, I can flat-iron them, and it would just be awesome. I'm thinking Mario mushrooms, or something like the Master Key from Legend of Zelda. I haven't actually bought the stuff to make 'em, nor do I really know HOW, but I can figure that out. Prices would be somewhat similar to coasters, I think.
Is there any interest in this? Leave me some feedback, guys. Thanks!
