I know things are quiet..
Posted 15 years agoHey folks.
I know things have been really quiet around here, and I want to apologize for that!
It's not a bad quiet, though. I've been out driving lately (for those that don't know, I'm 23 and still have my permit..I've had a crippling fear of driving for a while, but I'm beginning to work on it), and I'm considering applying for a job. It could be a very positive change of pace for my life.
Things are decent enough. My friends are being very awesome, and I'm just..not generally as depressed as I have been in the past. It's good!
Beadwork wise, I know I have some stuff to do. It will be done! I know I've been super boring lately, without any submissions or anything. There's not much on the plate, commission wise, but I will get them out soon, promise. At the moment, I'm staying at a friend's house, and I will be home soon. Requests would be pretty awesome, if anyone has them.
Also, I will say it again, if you want a sprite done (as in made)/modified in some way, or you want a sprite done but can't find it anywhere on the internet, check out
- she will make it for ya for a small fee.
Thanks for your patience and general awesomeness, guys. I will be back in production soon enough, I think!

5/19 updates
Posted 15 years agoHey folks,
All current orders are in the mail. Expect sprites soon.
Not much has been going on. I'm not feeling very good all of a sudden. It's to be expected- I had a few decent days, and now it's time for a few lousy ones. Physically stable. Minor ear infection. Mentally..alright. Depressed.
Pokemon sprites to come. Don't have much more to say beyond that at the moment.
I hope everyone's well.

Current list of sprites for sale.
Posted 15 years agoHey folks,
My random box of sprites is getting full, so I figured I'd steal your time and attempt to sucker sales out of you so I can roll around in piles of money. By this, I mean I want to just let people know what I have, and what's for sale in case people weren't aware.
I will offer them at a discount of their normal prices, because most of there were made for the hell of it. Since they're already done, it's no additional skin off my back. Shipping rates will remain the same. Most of these can be made into magnets for $1 extra. In addition, smaller sprites can still be made into keychains for $.50 extra.
Click the name of any sprite to see it.
In no particular order, I have the following:
The entire Legend of Zelda Item series (link to the journal here- can be purchased individually for cheap!)
The entire Street Fighter IV/Mega Man series (Can be purchased individually)
Any of the Pokemon sprites listed as "FOR SALE" in this journal entry (any other Pokemon sprites listed in this sale are NOT from that series)
Any of the cast from Final Fantasy VI
Large Halo Elite
Large Master Chief
Paladin
Mega Man
Glow in the dark Bullet Bill
Mario Question Block
Samus, SSB style
Crono
Marle
Lucca
Robo
Hero, from Secret of Mana
Sprite, from Secret of Mana
Wolf guy from Dynami Tracer
Lucario
Haunter
Security Eye
Mewtwo (His tailtip is damaged, so I will be offering a further discount on this sprite D:)
The dude from Crystalis
Link, smushed
Pokey
Piranhna Plant
Mario Coin
Red Shelled Koopa
Pac Man Ghosts (blue isn't available)
Feel free to respond to this article or send me a note if you'd like to purchase any of these. Thanks so much!

Custom sprites, oh my!
Posted 15 years agoHey folks,
Sorry to be bombarding you all with journals, but some good stuff's happening.
My good friend
has decided to start doing custom spritework! While she doesn't have a lot of experience as of yet, she's really good at it, and she has a fun time doing it! You can access her FA page through the icon I posted, and you can find more information here: http://sites.google.com/site/rikkos.....te-commissions and here: http://sites.google.com/site/rikkos.....-size-examples
Anyway, I'm promoting her because well..she deserves more attention, but also because I can pretty much bead anything she creates! Her prices are for completely custom sprites. She doesn't use templates or patterns or anything. Every sprite would be 100% original and yours to have. I could then make it into something awesome outta beads, if you wanted!
Check her out. Get some sprites made! It would be totally awesome.
Thanks guys.
Note: I'm almost over my illness! Yaaaay.

Illness, Spritework, Commissions, we've got it all!
Posted 15 years agoHey folks.
Update time.
Massively simplified the pricing page- should be a lot easier to understand now. I'm always open to answer questions, though.
In other news, I've been sick. Nothing really major, just a small fever/cold. I'm still pretty congested and coughing a lot. It's a nuisance more than anything, but it's still really annoying. I'm hoping this isn't allergies. My summer would suck balls otherwise.
Um, let's see here..ooh! I'm really really happy with how that hydralisk turned out. Not only was it a good sprite, but technically, it was my best sprite. One of the largest that I've ironed without anything going wrong. It's been a huge boost in my confidence as a bead spriter. I think I'm going to try and shift my focus towards larger sprites at this point. They take me a while longer, but it's great practice, and I always love to have an excuse to hang stuff on my wall. I might make the Mana Beast at some point. This generally means that my submissions may be fewer and farther apart, but they will be hopefully larger, more complex sprites.
Commission wise, I will try and keep myself open to larger sprites as well. I've rejected a few in the past because they were simply too big. I think I'm capable of them at this point. The two prohibitive factors at this point are basically shipping, and cost. I have set prices for anything under 1000 beads at this point. However, anything above that and prices quickly increase. Something like the hydralisk would be $60-$80, only because it takes me a while, and it's a lot of work. No idea on shipping costs for that kinda thing, either.
Let's see here..oh! If you have Skype and haven't added me yet, consider doing so! I have been going one on one with people (It's all my connection can handle, no Ustream or anything) when I do beadwork. Apparently some people like watching it on webcam. :) By all means, feel free to add me if you wanna watch a wolf do beadwork. I haven't been up to much lately due to illness/busyness, but yeah. box.macleod <- add that.
Right. 'nuff of that. Go look at
's art if you haven't already. She's awesome, and deserves attention.

Minor pricing updates.
Posted 15 years agoHey folks!
Just a quick message to everyone out there.
I've updated my pricing structure a bit after doing a few more slightly larger sprites. "Large sprites" are now considered up to 750 pixels. "Larger sprites" are now 750 to 1000 pixels, and start at $11. Anything above 1000 pixels is priced on an individual basis. Complexity, size, and shape all factor into the price.
The main reason I'm doing this- time. I realized that I might spend 2, 3 hours on a sprite, and then only wind up charging $8 for it. While I'm not trying to turn this into a main source of income, making $3.50 an hour just kind of sucks.
Also, shipping prices on larger sprites has increased. This is because larger sprites tend to weigh 3-4 oz. If I charge $2 for shipping, the postage alone is nearly $2. I still have to pay for the label, envelope, printer ink, etc. It's merely to cover costs- not to make more money.
Small sprites, keychains, and coasters are still the same price.
I also made the link for commissions and trade info kinda blatant and red on my front page. There's also a huge, CAPITAL LETTER WARNING regarding sprite sizes so people understand. I do this not to be an asshole, but because I always feel bad when someone gives me a sprite that is just impossible. Hopefully this will clear up some stuff.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns..ask! I'm happy to answer 'em.

How to become successful on FA.
Posted 15 years agoSTEPS TO WINNING OVER YOUR FANBASE ON FA:
1. Blatantly rip off pricing structure and format without giving credit to original author. Here WAS (he changed it immediately after this journal, probably to avoid getting his ass kicked. Sucks to be you, I take screenshots.) his. Here is mine. Constantly remind people that your prices are cheaper than mine, despite neglecting to include shipping in final costs. See his front page for more info.
1a. However, accuse other FA artist of blatantly ripping off someone without giving credit, despite the original, posted tutorial having no author or requirement for credit given. See here.
1b. Accuse competing artist of having simple sprites upwards of $20. Realize artist in question has nothing in pricing information approaching $20. Neglect to mention closest thing is actually four custom sprites. Use this as leverage.
2. Act like a jerk.
3. Act like a jerk again.
4. Get jealous of slightly more successful FA spriter. Start to copy other artist's series. Post journals accusing original artist of being more expensive/inferior quality, despite doing the exact same sprites. Furthermore, accuse original artist of trying to copy other artist despite a month between his series ending and the other beginning. Neglect to realize sprites are not owned by either artist, and can be used freely. Also neglect to include that accused artist is producing more sprites that vary from the original artists. Also, accuse other artist of ripping off FA and charging more for the sprites. Neglect to include his prices are completely wrong. Lose money attempting to sell set as a whole. See here for his post and here for mine.
5. Do the exact same thing again. (See original post here. Note time of post.) This time, fail to utilize basic math in accusation of other artist. Fail to realize that with shipping costs, pieces are actually very similar in cost. Decide to call this half price anyway. Neglect to realize original artist includes shipping in price quotes. Make sure to time this series announcement on the day as the other artist to avoid looking suspicious.
6. Do the exact same thing a third time. (See original post here.). Time this announcement 30 minutes after original artist to avoid suspicion.
7. (Don't) Profit!

Gotta sell 'em all!
Posted 15 years agoLARGE JOURNAL ENTRY TO FOLLOW. APOLOGIES FOR LENGTH/SPAM POTENTIAL
So at

A) To track my progress throughout this series, and to serve as a 'home base' to navigate through these once I have more of 'em done.
B) To inform you, the reader (thanks for your support) of this project, what it's about, and to hopefully spark your interest.
C) To generate some revenue for me.
I wanted to basically throw this out there. I would like to sell some of these sprites. Creating this entire list of Pokemon is a daunting project. 151 sprites. None of them are really that small. I'm probably looking at around 100,000 beads once all is said and done. That's at least $200 in supplies. While I can ultimately cover this if I need to, I would really love your guys help.
Below is the original 151 Pokemon listed in numerical order. Think about the ones you'd be interested in, if any. Then I want you to go to this website and find the Pokemon you're interested in. There are small, 32 pixel by 32 pixel sprites of EVERY original pokemon there. Those are the ones I will be working with. Those are the ones you would be getting. I'd want you to be satisfied with that before any money exchanges paws.
If you want one of these pokemon (however far in the future), please post the exact ones you KNOW you would be willing to buy in this journal. Now, I feel like a douchebag essentially going "hey guys, thanks for looking at thBUY MY SPRITES HALPPPP", but this would be a fantastic way for me to gauge interest in this project, and hopefully keep myself funded through it.
Prices are going to be around $8 a piece. I'm charging standard rates on these sprites. A majority of these are classified as large sprite. The easy way to add up your costs (with shipping) - $10 for the first one, $8.50 for each additional sprite. I will let you know if one happens to fall under the small sprite category.
Furthermore, if you have an interest in pokemon outside the original 151 here, I am still open for traditional commissions. Send me a note if you're ever interested.
IMPORTANT: This is NOT a first come, first served basis. If someone else called dibs on a Pokemon before you did, ASK FOR IT ANYWAY. I can ALWAYS make duplicates of any sprite, and would be happy to do so.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I will update this as sprites are created!

Tumblr!
Posted 15 years agoI have no idea why I'm posting this here, because you're obviously aware of the furry fandom, and you've seen all my gallery but...I have a Tumblr account now!
This is basically for anyone that's not a furry, that I want to show my sprites to. Don't need people seeing assorted animal penises when they just wanna see beads, y'know? Love you FA~
Anyway, you can find the gallery at http://fuzzbuttbeads.tumblr.com/ if you're interested for some reason. It doesn't have all the sprites that my FA does, but it has most of the major ones.
Just thought I'd throw that up there. :)
Have a good evening, guys!

Posted 15 years agoHey folks!
First of all, let me thank everyone for all the wonderful birthday wishes, and even some of the awesome art I received. It really made the day special and meant the world to me. :D Thanks!!
Anyway, I'm all done with my Zelda series! All the sprites are up and posted-- if anyone is curious, they can all be seen individually at http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1310026/ and the collage is also up and posted.
I'm going to be starting my Pokemon series sometime soon. This is going to be quite an endeavor. It's the potential for 151 sprites, with the potential for 154,000 beads total. I have no idea if I'll be able to accomplish this, but I'll sure as hell try. I'm really hoping I can get a few buyers in on this- it's going to be quite expensive. I'm looking forward to it, though. I missed doing larger sprites.
Outside of all of this, not much has been going on. I'm still looking for work, the family is doing well. All's quiet, really.
If anyone's interested, I've been doing my beadwork on Skype. It's not the perfect setup, but I can one-on-one with anyone that would like to watch me put together one of these pieces. It's a lot of fun, and I've found that it's a good boost to my productivity. My Skype is box.macleod if anyone wants to add me- just be sure you tell me you're from FA!
Thanks again for everything guys. You're the best group of fans a lupine could howl for.

DANGER ZONE
Posted 15 years agoHey folks.
Seeing as the last two Pokemon sprites I did were somewhat popular, I went around browsing..and uh oh.
I found a site that has the original 151 pokemon in 32 x 32 sprite form.
The perfect size. 151 pokemon.
What do you think? Epic journey of sprites? 151 amazing pieces of beadwork?
CAN IT BE DONE?
EDIT: It seems the vote is VERY YES. I'll need to do a bead inventory, and finish up my Zelda series, and then..well, I guess it's Pokemon time. I will make a list of all the pokemon and we'll work from there! You guys are awesome.

All's quiet. Also, GLOW IN THE DARK BEADS?!
Posted 15 years agoHey folks.
Sorry about the lack of updates. It's been a decent week for me. I was gone Monday through Sunday staying at a friend's house. I helped him move into his new apartment, etc. etc. It was a good time. We threw a small LAN party, and I reaffirmed that I still kick ass with the revolver in Zombie Panic! Source.
Anyway, updates. I got more bead supplies today! New pegboards, magnets, foam, and a bucket of glow in the dark beads! I should be good to go for a while. Anyway wanna see me make anything glow? By all means, ask for it. It's pretty awesome.
Picked up Saint's Row 2 today as well. Looking forward to it, as I'm very much enjoying the first one at the moment.
I finally got a haircut as well. My god it feels good not to look like a retard. Seriously. It's awesome. Itchy neck, though.
I need to do my taxes still. Oops. No biggie, it'll be done in 20 minutes tomorrow.
Also, my birthday is on the 18th. I won't keep posting about it (because that's annoying and attention whoring, which I TRY and avoid), but I will probably put something short/catchy/stupid in here on the actual date. I will be 23. Awesome.
Anyway, that's what's up. Sorry about the lack of sprites and general updates, but I will be back in full force soon enough. The Legend of Zelda series will be continuing as soon as I'm able, promise!

Updates, and Birthday?!
Posted 15 years agoHey folks!
Just a quick post for updates.
Everything is ready to mail out, commission wise. I'm a bastard for not mailing them. They will be out soon. You people have biblical patience, and it means everything to me. Thanks for bearing with me.
Two things going on that are vaugely exciting. This coming weekend (not easter weekend, duh) I will be going to a friend's apartment for the weekend. My intent is to drink. Heavily. It will be awesome. I haven't been out in such a long time. I need to abuse my liver. Don't worry- I haven't ever done anything stupid while drunk, so don't sound the warning bells. I will try and take pics. It should be glorious.
Secondly, my birthday is in two weeks! Unemployment has meshed the days together so fast I forgot to realize it. On April 18th, I'm gonna be 23 years old. Crazy.. Might be a good excuse to get a new mouse, though. I desperately need a new one, as mine is dying. Stupid Razer. <shakes fist at>
Let's see..what else here.. oh! Replaced the power supply in my PC today. The old one kicked the bucket. Went from a Vortec (fuck you, Vortec) 650W to a Thermaltake 500W. Runs like a charm. Really glad the MCE BSoD I was getting was only PSU failure, and nothing CPU wise.
Oh yeah, and while I'm thinking of it.. I'm nearing 300 watchers! I mean, geez guys.. I never thought my stuff was that awesome..and I know there are plenty of artists out there that have a bajillion watchers and stuff, but I didn't think I'd get this far. I absolutely love all of you guys, and it's such a pleasure making stuff that makes you all smile. I love all the great comments and feedback you leave, and all the conversations I get myself in to. I'm hoping for lots more of it, so I'll keep it all coming.
Requests will be open again soon! Get thinkin'!
Love ya guys.

My next series of sprites- Zelda fans wanted!
Posted 15 years agoHey folks.
A certain
is amazing and gave me inspiration for my next series of sprites.
It's not something that's OMG original (many people have done them before, but I don't care), but I'm going to make as many of the items as I can from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
I've found a majority of the items I want to do, but I want to consult with everyone here to make sure I have as unabridged a list as I can get. So, this is where you guys come in! I'm going to post a list of all the items I have sprites for. If you'd like, please feel free to add other items (and the sprites, too!), and I will include them in the series.
Most of these sprites are pretty small, and would make awesome fridge magnets. I will probably sell them for $2-$3 a piece, as magnets. We'll see.
I will post links to each sprite as they are made. Thanks for your support, guys. You're all freakin' awesome!
Anyway, here is the list (in no particular order):
Boomerang (Done!)
Magic Boomerang (Done!)
Bow (w/ Silver Arrows) (Done!)
Hookshot (Done!)
Bomb (Done!)
Fire Rod (Done!)
Ice Rod (Done!)
Bombos Medallion (Done!)
Ether Medallion (Done!)
Quake Medallion (Done!)
Mushroom (Done!)
Magical Powder (Done!)
Lantern (Done!)
Magic Hammer (Done!)

Bug-Catching Net (Done!)
Staff of Somaria (Done!)
Cane of Byma (Done!)
Magic Cape (Done!)
Magical Mirror (Done!)
Sword (all 4 levels) (One) (Two)(Three)(Four)
Green Mail (Done!)
Blue Mail (Done!)
Red Mail (Done!)
Shield (Done!)
Red Shield (Done!)
Mirror Shield (Done!)
Pegasus Shoe (Done!)
Power Glove (Done!)
Titan's Mitt (Done!)
Zora's Flippers (Done!)
Moon Pearl (Done!)
Book of Mudora (Done!)
Rupee (Red, done!)
Master Key (Done!)
Map (Done!)
Pendant of Wisdom (Done!)
Pendant of Courage (Done!)
Pendant of Power (Done!)
Empty Bottle (Done!)
Green Potion Bottle (Done!)
Red Potion Bottle (Done!)
Blue Potion Bottle (Done!)
Heart Piece (Done!)
There we are. Feedback is ALWAYS welcome and greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Blog? Shit. Read this.
Posted 15 years agoTime to push that emo drama crap off my front page and post something else. I still feel like shit, but it's irrelevant at this point.
My buddy
decided to start a blog to voice a lot of the wondrous, random thoughts he has. A lot of them tend to come up in conversations we have. The name of the blog is Train Shank- explanation inside.
The reason I'm (attempting to) pimping out this blog is because I'll be contributing to it. Dignant is the owner of it, and he will probably be writing more, but occasionally I'll post some nonsense up on there. Give him some followers and read some inanity. It'll do you good.
Actual updates related to beadwork:
All the paid shit is done at this point. I just need to box up the two cubes and get to a post office. Enormous thanks to everyone that has been SO patient with my shit. I really appreciate your understanding.
I'll be opening up requests real soon, so if you guys want to see anything, please let me know.
The blog can be found at: http://trainshank.blogspot.com/

Help me.
Posted 15 years agoI need to get out of this slump. I'm still feeling like garbage, but in a different way than last time. I'm not really like..emo/sad/depressed (though still lonely, fuck D:) or anything..I just have no energy or will to do anything. As a result, I'm just kinda..sitting in the corner watching everything happen. It's bothersome.
Beadwork has to get done. I have one more thing that's paid to crank out- another companion cube- but after that, I'm pretty much open. I've done a lot of the major series of games that I grew up playing..is there anything out there you guys want to see? Any real classic series I'm missing?
Also, it seems like I've inspired quite a few people to take up beading themselves. o.o I wish them all the best of luck. I just hope they don't steal too much of my fanbase. >.>;
Love you guys. Bear with me through all this..I hate feeling like shit, I really do. I've received an amazing amount of support from you all on here, and it's really meant a lot to me. I never thought my humble sprites would get me as far as it has. I hope I can keep making stuff you'll all enjoy.
Thanks, everyone. <3

Posted 15 years agoI'm not feeling too hot at the moment. A particular issue has left me feeling like garbage. It's such a lousy feeling..I'm tired of being stomped around on.
Anyway, I will try and get the two remaining pieces I have (cube and mousepad) done and mailed out when I can.
My apologies for being dramatic on here.

Updates, what the future holds, etc.
Posted 15 years agoHey folks,
Sorry things have been so quiet around here. This week was a busy one! I was dogsitting three of the most adorable dogs around until Tuesday, and then I was at a friend's house until Thursday afternoon. It was good to see friends I haven't seen in a long time. He thought my sprites were pretty cool, too!
Anyway, I figured I would just post a brief update. I know I have a lot of commissions on my plate, and I'm working on them! I know a few people have been waiting VERY patiently for their commissions (Clayton, Raevis, etc.-- I'm sorry!), and I promise you guys they'll get mailed out soon! I'm just juggling a lot of things. I haven't forgotten, and I will make sure everyone gets what's coming to them. Feel free to pester me at any time if you have questions. Again, I'm sorry about that. Life calls, y'know? Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Let's see..oh yes! Mousepads! I think I'm gonna say fuck those. I just don't think they work well enough to merit selling them regularly.
-- yours is still coming, and I'm gonna work my hardest to have it work. I hope it does. <3 In that sense, I'm not going to abandon the design, though. I'm actually going to try my hand at framing one of the pieces I've done. It's all experimental, but something awesome may come from it. I'll post pics of anything!
Hasn't been much else going on. I appreciate all of the amazing support and feedback you've all been giving me. Over 3000 pageviews, and I'm approaching 300 watchers! I never thought my humble sprites would get me so far, but everything's been beyond my expectations. I wouldn't be anywhere without your support and kind words about my work. I'll definitely keep this up, and I hope I can keep bringing back nostalgic memories about games we've all played in the past. You're all awesome.
Anyone have any requests? I know I'm closed on them at the moment, but I'm always up for ideas.
Have a great weekend, guys.

Pretty amazing collection of sprites here..check it out!
Posted 15 years agoLOLOL blank post, good job FA.
Anyway, I was randomly browsing the web, and I stumbled across this: http://cardgallery.tales-tra.com/ca.....s_bluename.htm
I highly recommend you check that out. I'm not really sure what the cards are, but there is a HUGE collection of totally custom sprites here featuring almost every video game character you can think of.
Unfortunately, a lot of the sprites are un-beadable..or at least, I wouldn't want to make them for me. They're not that clean, and it's a real shame. I'd still be willing to try, if anyone's curious.
But yeah, check out those amazing sprites. They're really spectacular!
In other news:
I know a few people have commissions that need to be mailed out. I'm working on it, I promise! Thanks for your patience. If you have any questions about the status of your order, just ask!
I wanted to throw out some special pimpage, too.
I've asked people to check out
for a while now, and I'm gonna do it again. Her art is really quite awesome, and she's a wonderfully friendly artist. She deserves a lot more credit than she receives. She's also a hydralisk. That's such a huge selling point. Be friends with her, and she'll chop up people that annoy you, and make happy hydralisk sounds. It's win/win.
Many thanks to my followers and watchers and all that. You're a great group of people, and your support really makes this all so worthwhile. Thank you!! <3

Helping out a friend.
Posted 15 years agoHey folks,
Just throwing a bit of pimpage out for a fellow bead artist.
is tryin' to get the word out about some of his beadwork. He just started working on badges, and is looking for some interest in the project.
Go ahead and check out his stuff if you're interested. It's something different than what I'm doing, and you could snag yourself a bead badge if you want. Thanks!

My best friend

You can find it at http://www.lifewithdeath.com/
Please check it out. She's a wonderful artist with a shitload of personality, and she's worked her (hot) ass off getting this thing ready. Give her our support!

Interesting bead idea.. feedback is certainly welcome!
Posted 15 years agoEDIT: It seems like the response to this idea has been overwhelmingly positive! Therefore I will make an example for you guys to display exactly what I mean. I will then update my pricing list accordingly. Please note that this method would only apply to sprites that are much larger than what I usually make (2000+ pixels). However, at the customer's request, I may try this with smaller sprites. This assumes, of course, this method works in the first place.
I have made a crude example of the style I mean: Please refer to [THIS] diagram for a simple example. Each square in this case is a 29 x 29 pixel square, which is exactly one standard pegboard. The pieces that stick out are small, but can easily be included. Note that this is a 58 x 58 block of pixels..bigger than a mousepad, but ever so slightly. Keep this in mind when dealing with sprites.
Any further questions, please ask!!
Good afternoon folks, and a happy March to everyone.
and I were having one of our usual lovely conversations. Seriously, we need to start a blog with our insane ideas. It's awesome. ANYWAY, we were talking about beads and stuff, when he came up with a very unique and interesting idea, that, when expanded further, opened a whole new world of ideas for me.
Bead puzzles.
Yep.
Bead puzzles.
This is what we're thinking: After my situation with the 3D sprites, then I realized that they actually snapped together real good..it only seems natural that they'd snap even better in a 2D plane. Dignant asked why I don't try puzzle bags. And holy shit, there are a LOT of advantages to this.
Basically, this would allow me to take ANY size sprite (seriously, extremely huge, or extremely small, it doesn't matter) and beak it into small puzzle-shaped pieces. These pieces would naturally be ironed already, but you'd snap them together like a puzzle..you could then apply a final ironing if you wanted to seal it all together. I would provide you a picture of the sprite as well as ironing instructions.
Pros:
A) Makes doing ANY size sprite feasible
B) Shipping becomes much easier (Just throw the pieces in a bag, put bag in a box)
C) Could be fun putting a puzzle together
D) Definitely something unique
E) Much easier for me to iron, no need to worry about messing up a huge sprite
Cons:
A) I have no idea if this actually works
B) Lots of variables involved (cutting pieces to size, etc. etc.)
C) Expensive. Larger sprites will quickly escalate into higher prices. The samus ship, for example, would probably run upwards of $100 or so. Of course, that's over 10,000 beads, and the thing is huge.
Any feedback on this?
If it seems generally positive, I would definitely consider it. Also, I will definitely try making some smaller scaled puzzles out of junk beads to see if this actually works.
