I just may have thrown away my reason for hating Jenny's pink hair.

Yesterday, I opened up Sai to fiddle around with its brushes. Roshi's commissions required a lot of fluffy fur, which is something I've never gotten the hang of in Photoshop. Sai seemed to handle brushes really well and has this awesome smoothness to its strokes. Painting with certain settings really makes me feel like I'm using oil paints... it's that liquid.

So I furred up Roshi's commishs and posted the two of them up. And then... I was kinda bored. So I opened up one of Yawg's side projects and fiddled with hair.

This doesn't mean I don't need to flip back and forth with Photoshop, but the actual shading of hair is... fun.

Damn.

I'm gonna have to save up to get more RAM. My comp can't handle Photoshop/Sai and Chrome running at the same time. It's gets a panic attack and waves the flag.

Anyone else want some colouring done? I'm open for bizz!

I gotta say, for all that Yawg is lauded for drawing the best boobs around, his backgrounds are fantastic.
Because they are really detailed. And can potentially use a variety of colours. Applied with tiny brushes.

... I also added night lights, but I doubt those are going to show up in the final edit.

On another note--I managed to wrap gifts less than eight feet away from an oblivious Yawg.

I've been gone for a long time, I know. And normally, I wouldn't announce this on FA. But what I'm dressed in right now seems wildly appropriate for this site.

I've got the closest thing to a sheep fursuit retail can deliver and a dragon hat. Not only that for, in the closet, I have white fur-trimmed cloppy heels and lambs-wool gloves. Yeah, I've got this covered.

Yes I did have fun at AC!
Best thing? I have a whole list of new artists to watch. Wandering through the Art Auction area, I ended up scribbing table numbers and names on my arm. There was no paper. Plenty of pens though (thank goodness, because pencil on flesh doesn't work)(or would, but painfully).

At the end of the show, we were all kicked out, so me, Yawg, Kandlin, Gail, Snicket, and The Wife, ended up in a corner table at the Spaghetti Warehouse (OMIGAWD so much food!). To my chagrin, by the time we had gotten through the meal, the Dealer's Room was closed! I now had an arm with a bunch of numbers I didn't have names to!

So you can understand how happy I was that AC had kept a dealer room map up on their website.

Yawg's been reaming me out for slacking off while he's slaving away on his comic. >.> I've just been distracted. There were other stories to write... and fanfiction to read... and manga to get caught up on.

Dudes... I just spent most of last night reading Deadman Wonderland. It was awesome. Blood friggin everywhere. Then again, between that and D. Gray-man, blood is always flying.

*cough* Anyway. Chapter 7 will be typed up and posted in the next few days and chapter 8 is already being worked on. Mostly because it's Renamon. And Yawg was getting impatient.

I have a horrible feeling that these month(s) of silence between chapters will happen every time I switch between characters. I just have to poke and prod at the very idea of writing in a different POV and then ignore the issue for a few weeks. At this time, I kinda have a handle on how to write Rena, but Jenny--who is after her--will be a challenge. More so than Slippy and Krystal (I know! Shocking huh?). The reason being is that I've had a few people ask if she's a bitch, because of the way she thinks of Slippy in the comic (Funny how people are sympathizing with the frog, but then again, everyone's had that awkward moment and that stupid hopeless crush). I don't want to make her a bitch, and Yawg doesn't want her to be either, but the very idea is colouring my perception of her.

For those curious, I will be continuing the first person, present tense, POV for the rest of the chapters. Don't worry, there will be visual cues as to which chapters belong to whom. One of my projects will be changing Slippy's chapters to match the others. Joy.

Jenny's character will be partially developed during Rena's chapter(s??) and we'll see how the inside of her head sounds like. Good God... I only hope I can make her interesting. Yawg and I are still prodding the details out of her stubborn grip, but she's not even dropping any details about her ex, never mind his actual name. All I know is that he's a bastard.

The fursuiters looked like they were having fun, it must have been really challenging to go from being a chatty outgoing person, to a mute but still sociable creature.

I think, I ended up being there more for the people than the con actually. I didn't go to any of the panels or events - though I did arrive in time to wave at the fursuiter parade that walked by (as Yawg and I wandered around lost and looking for the reg table).

We whipped through the art gallery once, and sadly only once. Met  mikefurry there (FINALLY DUDE) and saw some neat art. One girl, Q, noticed my Cthulu shirt and pointed out a few pieces that she had going with that theme. I really liked the style of her art, very stylized, straight lines, thin limbs. I'll be keeping an eye on her as time goes by, because I believe that with some more experience, she'll have some great stuff to show. http://www.anarchicq.com/
I didn't buy any prints on our pass through, but that's how I shop. I usually go through again for a second or third time before I buy anything... Okay - I lied: I did buy a bookmark from  Sefeiren
Yawg will attest to this; I had hemmed and hawed over a print of an owl from Frisky Ferals - the footprint sticker over the genitals gave me pause (It may be a surprise to some, but I don't buy porn. However, the detail work on the feathers and the overall picture was stunning) and... there were no price tags on the print.
I thought about it some more during our late lunch, ultimately deciding to go back and buy it. Yawg gave me an odd look and told me that the market was closed... *sad squirrel*

We spent a few hours in the games room, camping out there, hanging out with Mike and keeping ourselves entertained. Yawg tells me that I conked out a few times in my chair while we were in the games room afterwards. :s all I can say in defense is that I tend to do that.
We kept checking the badges of people walking by looking for  Chadpanther, an old buddy of Yawg's. After several texts back and forth, and a near miss, we had given the search up for lost and headed home. By pure chance, we detoured into a nearby WhiteSpot for dinner, which is when Chad sent a last note: "Where are you now? Call me?"

And so back we went. And there Chad was. A few hours later after laughter, sour key candies, and funny/embarrassing stories, we were on our way home again.

As a first furry con, I think it was pretty interesting. The people were diverse, over all cheerful and excited to be there. It's wasn't all that different from a gaming convention.
Yawg: Were there furries at the gaming conventions you went to?
Me: *thinks of GenCon* Do Klingons count?
Yawg: Only if they're naked.
Me: Uh... er... nnoooo.

Anyway. I didn't go running and screaming out into the night. Looking forward to AC!

Can you imagine this story is up to 30 pages? And nearly 12k words...
This is the longest piece of consecutive (fan)fiction I've ever written on my own.

Granted, Yawg is helping out with some ideas and the editing. But... wow.

Now, if only I could get around writing this much in one go for my own original fiction.

Oh god - I love this!

Krystal is having an aneurism. *cough* But that's chapter 6.

Chapter 5 is up for your viewing pleasure. I still don't like the last half of it, but Yawg threw cookies at me until I posted.

It's the only chapter where I had to pull back the last thousand words and rehash some of it and ditch the rest. Yeah, all that talking outside the bar for nothing.

Yawg likes the second version much better. I have to admit, I like the material more, but the delivery still irks me. Ah well.

Anyway, for this chapter, I was looking into snakes, their different venoms, mythology on snake charmers, the various colours and patterns of fatigues, and got completely hooked on a single song, which made it into the writing.

In other news, chapter 6 is well on its way. I think I'm two thirds done. The chapter I mean. Not Krystal's chapters. Tho... I better churn out sex really soon or else the rat that lives with me is going to start throwing things other than cookies.

But booby trap as a noun is two, whereas to booby-trap is hyphenated.

As to the over-arching story? The big tapestry?

For now, all I'm going to say is that Yawg is letting me create backgrounds for the various characters of his LoJR comic. He just wanted me to write the POVs of various characters having sex the night Slippy finally got laid.
He didn't expect this < (Points at the 2200 odd words of Stay) or * (Points at the other 4500 odd words in a separate document) or the fact that I'm still writing cuz I haven't even gotten to Krystal's main confrontation. He definitely didn't expect the Slippy chapters. I think I may have blown his mind, he's actually gone fan-boy on me.

We're weaving the different stories into each other one at a time, just letting each chapter lay down more ground work and creating a world that we can point at and say, 'canon'. It's a heady experience, knowing that between Yawg and I, we're establishing a whole new world to play with.
There are plans for where the comic is heading, but the more I write, the more those plans are morphing, adapting. He's drawing inspiration from my stories and I'm pulling ideas from his pictures and what we discuss offline.

My writing is already on a different track from his comics, a whole different feel as well. I can definitely say that his comics are much more light-hearted than what I'm posting. Can you imagine trying to put these chapters into pictures? It would be AWESOME but it would also take months.

I'm honestly not sure how far I'm going to take the Krystal Chronicles. It may only extend to the beginning of Yawg's comics or it may run alongside to the events in those pages. All I know is that I'm really enjoying writing this out and he's enjoying what I give him.

Before I started with Krystal, Yawg mentioned the Anita Blake books that I'm so very a fan of. For good or bad, those books and my penchant for writing Akatsuki (Naruto) fanfiction have combined to give me the ideas for Krystal's story. Her character, the Ivory Guard, the interactions, the wording... I'm trying very very hard not to write Krystal as an angsty woman among several beautiful dangerous men... I'm not sure if I'm pulling that off. My prime concern right now is making sure that the shifts in emotion, the choices that she makes, and the way the men react to her, are all believable and have reasons that make sense.

In short - I'm taking this exercise in writing far too seriously for fanfic porn... Why? Cuz I'm actually choosing not to make the Bone Pickers into a group of sexual deviants. And this story is taking on a life of its own; it may just send its first few chapters in the embrace of the LoJR comic, and then leave home.

Yawg is already talking about drawing up the plans for the bar that Gregori owns.

We both may have projects that have grown out of proportion, a few extra heads, and an appetite for free time. But god help us, we're loving the ride.

Much like this journal has gone haywire... Ugh. Yawg is telling me to concentrate on the story and not on this journal. So... sorry for the disjointed writing. It's been competing with the 5th chapter and not doing so well. *slinks away*

On another note. TXT files are fine and good - but FA really needs to get around to integrating RTF files. I'd like to keep my italics. They make things so very stressful, but in a good way.

Even though... Okay, I actually like pasting the stories into the info sections. That means the "older" and "newer" buttons are still at the top. If I load a TXT file, that drops all the way to the bottom and it's a little annoying if i want to just skip through the chapters. Then again, maybe that's just me.

Finally...

Does anyone else see the Krystal thumbnail as really small? Not that it really matters since it's just a thumbnail. It's just that when I look at my profile page, the thumbnail shows up half the size it ought to. Not important, just aesthetically aggravating.

Chapter 5 is being written today? Tonight? Er... in the next 12 hours. Her story just sank its claws in and I'm really enjoying it. There's still so much to write!

Thankfully, Yawg is thrilled with the way Krystal turned out. Yes, she's still sleeping around as much as possible, but that's actually a minor point. And yet, maybe someday I'll get around to writing full fledged porn for Yawg. He's being very patient.

Yes, I'm working on the third chapter. Strangely enough, I've been struggling with the idea of mindless, empty, shallow sex. Strange yeah, I know. Look who I'm dating! >.>

Next chapter obviously is from Krystal's POV and involves her, her team, and my own OC and his team.

Oh dear. I'm laughing, and this is too funny, and really, I shouldn't do this to characters, but it so much fun!

I'm about 1500 words into the second chapter and it's just making me grin so much.

Does anyone really remember what drunken sex is like? It's blurry. It's awkward. People pass out at random moments. Everything is so nice and rounded at the edges and it's so much FUN! Cuz there's that care-free sparkling fuzzy edge to everything.

Too bad there's not much will power going on at that time. There's no sense of pacing or finesse. It's easy to tunnel vision. There's no sense of time and not everything seems to be right where you put it. Including your hands. Whoops! Hello floor!

*chuckles* I wasn't given a word count goal for this chapter, but I think I'll keep it up to 2500. That means yes, there will be sex. Keep in mind - drunk sex. From a drunk person's POV. Which means it really won't be much in the details.

*winces* I just hope no one breaks anything...

And right now, I'm slightly buzzed on caffeine and a very weird sleep schedule. If I can call it that. Sleep one night. Don't sleep the next. Stay awake during the day, to sleep early, and wake up shortly after midnight... So maybe caffeine and staying up last night was not a good idea. But! I have another thousand words to go and all of it is going to be a bizarre work of a drunk's POV done by a caffeinated buzzed sleep depped author.

Two hours later, Yawg has read through (Now reading through a second time) and has given his approval.
Editing and a bit of "extension"(Not enough sex! O.o;) will be happening later. After I get a few hours of sleep.

There is a chance there will be a third chapter, but more likely I will be writing about other characters instead.
