Final Chapter is out
General | Posted 2 weeks agoJust thought I'd post a journal too to push down the other one.
Enjoy!
Only thing left for this project now is to make an offline version and a walkthrough/gallery. Maybe a few extra vore scenes.
They will have to wait though.

Aweworld release date
General | Posted a month agoChapter 3 (Part 1) is out.
General | Posted 7 months agoAs you know, I split up Chapter 3 into two parts and here's the First part of it.
The second and final part of Aweworld will arrive at the end of the year. That's a hard deadline, no more delays. Its then complete.
Enjoy it.

Also here a Aweworld Discord I made if people wanna talk about stuff or report bugs!

Release date & Confuzzled
General | Posted 9 months agoHello
Some news for you.
Chapter 3 has grown huge, its twice the size of Chapter 2, so I've decided to split it into two halves.
The first half will be Chapter 3 and the last half will be the Final chapter and epilogue.
I've been aiming to release Chapter 3 (First half) at the end of June next month. I mean... its really close. I thought I could release it before Confuzzled even but Work suckerpunched me with stress for the last month or two.
The Final Chapter is also almost completed. But it'll have a lot of features I'm still working on, like a gallery and such things that'll take a bit of time.
But I will 100% just release it 'as is', if its not completed by end of year, to prevent myself from overpolishing, features be damned. Thats a hard deadline now.
Hopefully you wont have to wait that long.
Also yes, I'll be at Confuzzled this week, I'll be there as 'Evoc'.
It'll be my first Con, so a bit of an experiment for me. I am honestly nervous, but feel free to say hello if you see me.
I have some other Aweworld related surprises coming in the future.
So summary:
Aiming for Release at end of June (At the latest July) for Chapter 3. Veeeery close.
Final Chapter will follow not long after. Don't wanna give a timeframe for that, this year for sure.
Confuzzled presence.

General | Posted a year agoStill working on it.
A lot of polish to do, both in story and events. I don't want to rush it and release it too early.
What I've considered doing at this point however is dividing Chapter 3 in two and then calling the last half the epilogue Chapter.
There's a lot there, perhaps too much for one release. So I'm currently working on polishing up the first half to see how that'll feel.
My working pace has been a bit off and slow. Lot of things have been going on in my personal life. Good and bad (brainfog), mostly good. I've been a lot more social and hanging out in VRchat, making new friends. I've felt I've needed more of that in my life.
I'll post some more Chapter 3 teases, some art or something on here to let you know the project is alive.
Currently applications to the chapter 3 beta is closed. I haven't given the ones that joined the discord much to do lately, so no point in getting more people in there.
More updates to come.

Chapter 3 status
General | Posted a year agoHello!
I've been getting questions as the year closes in toward the end if i'll be able to hold my promise about completing this thing before the year is out.
Short answer: No. :(
If i'd managed to keep pace with the work as I had through earlier in the year, then yes it would have been complete. But since September, a combination of increased amounts of RL work responsibility and the passing of a very close friend of mine really put a huge wall right in the way of my productivity. I've had to recalibrate my life a little and find my feet again. I am good now, perhaps even better then before thanks to the people around me. <3
I hope this does not put a damper on peoples expectations. I am closer then ever to finishing this project, like the finish line is a few months away rather then years away.
It's not been without progress, the Beta testers have been to great help ironing out bugs and providing feedback. With their help, the end results will be so much more polished.
I have 3 weeks off in the end of December. I will be spending it crunching away on Aweworld and seeing how far I can get it. It'll not be the final crunch I had hoped for. But after that I think I will essentially be in the final stages where it's just polish polish polish.
Love you all, thank you for your patience. The amount of Art, drama and effort Im trying to cram into Chapter 3 I hope will make up for the wait.
I will provide a new update in January after my crunch with a new estimate for release date.

Chapter 3 update. Beta-test Discord.
General | Posted a year agoHello everyone, here's some news.
As I suspected, finishing Chapter 3 by August was way optimistic. But I am still pretty well on track toward finishing it, I made great strides this summer!
I will aim very hard on getting it done by the end of the year. It is already "playable", but just missing some story events, a lot of polish, testing and tightening of the ending.
I hope I don't have to push it back further, I am as eager to be done with it as some are to read it. I just want this to be good, the more I get to polish on it the better it'll be.
I've created a Beta test Discord. For those interested in helping me get this project to its goal, I will probably start letting people in to access and test/read/feedback the story next month in September.
But you can already send me a note if you wish to help and I'll get back to you.
I wont invite anyone, its not an 'early access' and it's still in a rough state.
Besides bugs, I need some help and feedback with writing/story to get it where it needs to be. Let me know how you can contribute.
One more thing, for artists.
I have a google doc wishlist full of characters/scenes/vore I'd love to commission. Send me a note if you want to have a look at it.

Chapter 3, release date.
General | Posted 2 years agoHellooooo cuties.
Oh my gosh, it's been a year since i last updated. But I have news for you.
I will AIM for finishing this project at the end of summer 2024, so likely end of august. At the current rate of work, it should be done by then.
But! You never know how life can be, if work changes or life changes, I might have to postpone it to Christmas 2024. But, I am really set on releasing it this year. That's my deadline which will push me somewhat.
I've cut a lot of my earlier ambitions with Aweworld. I've had a lot of ideas and aspirations for it, like there being 2 more chapter and animations and all kinds of stuff, but at this point I rather it was out and complete rather then continually dragging on. I have other projects I wish to work on after Aweworld.
Thanks for the support this far!
If anyone wants to help ensure this game is complete and of better quality, do send me a note. I am looking people who have some knowhow in Javascript, HTML/CSS aaaand likes to draw maps and stuff.
I will make another journal when its time to beta test the chapter so we can iron out all the bugs before release. Expect that to be around beginning of summer.

End of year, Chapter 3 status update
General | Posted 3 years agoHello
Should have posted earlier this month but I've been busy.
No beating around the bush, Chapter 3 is not complete yet. So you won't be seeing it this year. I have made progress, but i dare not give you an accurate percentage. Between 40-60% I'd say.
I admit I was quite overly optimistic during my last journal, I felt like I hit a stride of progress and motivation that would see me realistically completing the thing if i kept the pace up.
But I continually underestimate how creativity is a fleeting resource and how some RL job projects and health issues can really brain-drain you after a long day of stress.
The inevitable feelings that follow, guilt and anxiety over not working on Aweworld and finishing this project can in it's own way also be debilitating. Takes away the fun of it.
So I've tried to relax, rest and let that drive return to me naturally.
Honestly, I seem to do the most amount of work in bursts instead of slow and steady, this much I've learned about myself. So worry not, Chapter 3 can suddenly find itself finished unexpectedly.
I mostly know the story, what I want to do with it and how to end it, kind of.
I'll aim for Chapter 3 being the last major chapter, but it'll likely be followed some time after by a shorter narrative epilogue chapter that's going to be different depending on choices made.
I want to thank the people that have been supporting Aweworld through Kofi and also messaging me and encouraging me over the year. It's a nice reminder that people love this project. Pretty sure I'd have not gotten this far without you guys, you know who you are.
The support will make sure there's a lot of art to look forward to for Chapter 3 too.
Thank you everyone!
I've been thinking more and more of making a Aweworld Discord. Just as a sort of a invite only developers corner to begin with, for those interested to chat, help or whatever.
I'd eventually open it to public when chapter 3 completes so there's a place to report bugs or gossip about favorite pouches.
Is that a good idea? I feel like there may be way way too many Discord groups out there and people are getting stretched thin these days.

Chapter 3 Status
General | Posted 3 years agoHello!
Just letting everyone know I am working on this still! I seem to finally have gotten myself over a creative hump that was impeding me and over the last few weeks of my vacation I've written a whole lot!
At the current rate of progress, I hoping to release Chapter 3 before the end of the year. Not a guarantee, but a goal
I am not going to rush it out like I did chapter 2, going to spend more time to polishing it and also updating the previous chapters a bit.
I have some ambitious ideas. But not at the expense of it taking too much time.
Keep well everyone!

Chapter 3, progress update
General | Posted 4 years agoHello
I think I owe everyone an update. There's been some questions on progress here and there. So here's an update and a question for you in return, dear reader, at the end.
I wont beat around the bush. Short of it is Chapter 3 is being worked upon, but it's far from finished. I have no estimate for release as things stand.
The longer explanation.
I had hoped it would be further along, but I was not able to reach the milestones of progress I had planned for 2021.
To explain. While 2020 was a terrible year for most, it was a good year for me to work on my personal projects. I had a lot of free time I could use for non-stop focus. I churned out most of the work on Chapter 2 during this year.
2021, I am fully back at my job and it's been very stressful. Which has resulted in most of my spare time going to rest an recovery.
I wont lie, I've had times (a few days off here or a free afternoon and evening there) where I could have been working on Chapter 3 but haven't been able to muster the motivation. I feel guilty about it, but it is what it is.
I never liked new years resolutions, but I've thought about how to manage my time better this year to at least get some more consistent work done, so i don't have to waste time to find and pick up my loose threads every time I try to work on Aweworld.
I have some grand story ideas for Chapter 3. But I do wonder sometimes, should I limit the scope of the story and focus on the Vore?
How invested are you into the story in Aweworld? Is it more of a backdrop and fuel for Vore scenarios or does the adventures of Avolc and her crew captivate you and the vore is a bonus?
No wrong answers here. This project started out with the intent of the story being a backdrop.
I'd like to thank those who have sent encouragement my way and/or donated to the kofi. You know who you are! It's helped pay for the hosting of Aweworld but also some new art for the coming chapter as well as Chapter 2 that I will be putting in soon. I'll post a picture of one of them to let you know when I have.

Finished Novel, Starting on Chapter 3
General | Posted 5 years agoHello everyone.
Just updating to let you know I will slowly be starting work on Chapter 3. It'll be a lot of work, don't expect anything for another year. I wont have as much free time next year so it wont be a few months intense churn like Chapter 2 was where I did 80% of the work Jan-April.
I've spent the summer and fall on trying my hand at writing a Novel. It didn't quite turn out as good as i'd hoped, but I learned a lot about writing and doing this and I've come to realize how much I have yet to learn.
It's based on Aweworld but for general audiences. So no vore and more mainstream. It's a smaller scale 'adventure'.
I will post a link to it when I feel it's polished enough, which will be soon hopefully.
Stay safe and healthy everyone

Chapter 2 Post-release thoughts and Chapter 3
General | Posted 6 years agoHello everyone
Chapter 2 has been out a month now and I think most of the people who enjoyed Aweworld has played through it by now.
I have a few things muse about out loud about making Chapter 2 to whoever is curious enough to listen and my thoughts moving forward.
First things first, there has been nothing but short and positive feedback on the release. People have enjoyed what I did. This is good.
I do however have some concerns which are a bit intangible and hard to phrase. It might be a phantom concern, perhaps even quite selfish, but it's real nevertheless. So I'll put it out there.
Bluntly, I think people think Chapter 2 was mediocre/ok. Not bad, but not great. Amusing but forgettable. Or its lacking in some way that's hard to phrase. I think people recognize the efforts I put into it and don't want to nitpick. It was free and all.
It might be my own slight discontent with the Chapter speaking. Or perhaps I am reading too much into the feedback I am getting. Or rather, the lack of hard feedback.
My initial release of Chapter 1 got some very good feedback and it spurred me to keep working on this project, it confirmed what I had done was going in the right direction. There were a lot of words of helpful advice as people saw the potential in the project that I took my time to save and reread.
Chapter 2 got the equivalent of a Thumbs up emote. Even from my close friends.
I know it all sounds a little unreasonable. But that sums up my current analysis of Chapter 2. It was decent, but it didn't engage or Wow anyone. I feel blind as to why but I have my guesses. I really wanted it to be great.
I do regret not having spent even more time on it, polishing it even more. More branching paths and outcomes in the Fleet battle, more fun crew events with vorish stuff. The option to engage in a relationship with select few crew-mates. More art. Interactive Map. A working combat system. All of these things I had brewing in some form or have half-finished but I had to cut.
Working on a project alone for a long time makes you blind, you don't know if the direction you're in is the right one after a while, but you keep going due to momentum. Or as in this case, a really strong motivation to reach the end before a deadline.
I've learned a lot about how to outline a project and how to plan ahead. If I kept going, I'd like to think I'd not make all the same mistakes that really dragged me down timewise. But I am not sure I wouldn't make just another "Decent" experience. I am unsure what I did wrong here.
I have all of Chapter 3 planned out in my head. All the story-beats. But are they the right beats?
Is it worth another potential 500 hours of work for another thumbs up?
In summary:
I am glad you enjoyed Chapter 2.
I am not entirely happy with it.
I really want to tell the rest of the story, but I have doubts about it being worth the time.
My life feels a bit hollow without something to tinker with, a long-term thing to occupy me and put my idea-mill of a brain to use on. I will always have to work on something.

Chapter 2 is out.
General | Posted 6 years agoYo.
It's out.
I had to keep things to my deadlines and release it. Even if I feel it could always have been better and more polished with another week or two, there could have been more fun vore events or triggers. Many I have half-written that await implementation.
But even if I had the time, I have also run out of steam. I may yet edit and add them in later in the weeks to come, or put them in for Chapter 3.
https://aweworld.foxyden.eu/
You can hop straight to Chapter 2 and play if you want, you'll get some base stats but some hidden triggers based on Chapter 1 choices might not trigger.
Enjoy! Do leave me feedback, good and bad, I want to hear it. It all helped from Chapter 1 and I saved it all into a big file that I reviewed closely as I made Chapter 2. Your words spurred me on to make this, so thank you all for reading. Chapter 1 has seen some small updates too, pictures and events have been altered in minor ways. Though I am ashamed to say I have not had time to go through the spelling. Chapter 2 is hopefully slightly better on this front.
Forgive its faults, I am but one person, but don't be afraid to let me know I made them. I'll be bug fixing critical flaws detected on the fly as they get reported that me and my beta readers might have missed.
Speaking of beta readers. BIG thank you to:

Dr.Degenerate
Your beta feedback was very helpful!
Edit:
Thank you to everyone to contributed to the Awe design competition. I am still accepting designs, but it's getting harder to squeeze new characters in. I may well still adopt good designs onto of existing characters that need some fleshing out.
Be aware that I had to cut a intended portion of Chapter 2 and leave it for Chapter 3 instead. All guest characters that were chosen will get their time to shine eventually, but I did not have room for everyone in this chapter.
There might still a page of Aweworld style faces from the recent submissions, but it will come later.
I have lots of plans for Chapter 3. I do not quite know when I will have time to work on it. Perhaps later this year. It would be extremely optimistic to say it would release this year. Time is money.
But I can probably get quite a distance on it before the year is over. For now, outside small fixes, I am taking a break.
March Progress update (Nearly there)
General | Posted 6 years agoHello.
TLDR: Aweworld Chapter 2 preliminary release date: April 6th, next week.
Status is as following:
- Background Programming: Complete.
- Save system: Complete.
- 9/9 Major events complete.
- 5.5/7 Minor events complete.
- Polish: 90-95%
Extras:
- Maps (No time for me to make maps)
- Pictures (Behind on pictures. Interested to commission willing artists.)
- Nicer Lore page (Let's pretend this does not exist.)
I'd say the game is just about ready to be released, thanks to some beta feedback, it's quite playable. It just needs one more week of finishing touches. I had planned to release it April 1st, but some things have come up to take my time and also I am out of gas creatively and energy-wise.
I've been working on this now since the beginning of the year, put a lot of time into it. Even with that in mind, there is a lot less there then I had wished there to be. I had to cut the planned length of it down and delegate some of my plans for Chapter 3 in the future.
I am going to look into setting up a Kofi account for Aweworld. Perhaps set a donation goal for chapter 3, a hefty goal. 3k perhaps? Reaching that goal wont determine if i start on chapter 3 or not though, just how soon I do and how fast I work on it. So maybe it'd be kind of like a booster modifier. What do you think?
In the end, it was the many comments and feedback I got on Chapter 1 that made me do Chapter 2. The same will be true for Chapter 3.

February Progress update
General | Posted 6 years agoAhoy!
Here I am, with another progress update. I have been working pretty hard this month, many hours a day in fact. Learned a few things, of mostly what not to do for Chapter 3. Making things slightly non-linear and with story changes depending on alive characters is a lot of work man.
Oh well, this is where I stand. At my current pace, I think I will be done with Chapter 2 at the end of March.
All the Core major events are pretty much complete. Now comes a lot of polish and flavor stuff to give the world a little more immersion and life.
I am going to need some willing volunteers to do some beta read-through of the Major events. To give me feedback on text (Length, quality, enjoyment) and check for bugs. It's hard to see some flaws from the inside, I need fresh critical eyes.
If you're interested, then send me a note or email. Keep in mind, you'll be reading a unfinished chapter 2 with missing pictures and stuff, its not an early access, I will be demanding feedback.
- Background Programming: Complete.
- Save system: Complete. (Needs implementation to Chapter 1 extra testing)
- 9/9 Major events complete.
- 1/7 Minor events complete. (Most are already written however.)
- Polish: 5%
Extras:
- Maps (I want maps!)
- Pictures (Need to finish events first so I know what to commission)
- Nicer Lore page
Considering how much time I put into Chapter 2, I am thinking if I should do a patreon/funding thing for Chapter 3 after this release. Set a funding goal to resume work and gauge interest. What do you think?

January progress update
General | Posted 6 years agoHello
Let me start by saying that the Awe design competition isn't completely over, I will be posting some entries. But the slots remaining are very few. So I will be more picky.
But if I really like your design, it has a high chance of passing on to existing characters (Vanilla officers) that are lacking a little flair. Let me know if you have ideas for those.
Now a little update on current progress for Chapter 2 anyone curious. Perhaps also a little for myself to keep help myself keep track.
Through January I have mostly been checking and fixing my previous work. It took quite some time to catch up to where I could start making new content, a lot of events were flawed and broken due to my inconsistent work schedule and note-taking, things just get forgotten.
I have since then finished one large event and nearly completed another.
This is how Chapter 2 looks right now:
- Background Programming: Complete.
- Save system: Complete. (Needs implementation to Chapter 1 extra testing)
- 5/9 Major events complete. (I take about a week per major event)
- 1/7 Minor events complete. (Most are already written however.)

2020 Progress + Contest update
General | Posted 6 years agoWell hello there. I have news for all of you.
Let me start by saying sorry for the lack of updates and feedback and long wait for Chapter 2.
Well, I am working on it again, I have a lot of time now and I've set an estimated deadline for March. Lets hope I was not too ambitious with that short of a time-span, but I will update more frequently at let you know how progress goes.
Biggest hindrance right now is a slight lack of motivation and drive. I want to see the project to its completion, but I don't quite have that same... enthusiasm, that i had starting out Chapter 1. I find myself falling back on some of the nice feedback i received on Chapter 1 to keep me going.
I think also Chapter 2 is a little bit too overly complicated so a lot of time is stolen away by me trying to make it less linear. I shall stride on.
The Awe design contest has entered a new phase.
I've picked out a few winners and you may expect to see some results soon.
It's not impossible to submit an entry or design still, but I will be increasingly choosy with what I want and need right now if you're hoping to have a character make it into the game.
What I'm mostly looking for now are interesting designs for a Awe Captain or two.
I've also considered announcing I need fur-pattern ideas for existing character. Perhaps an officer on Avolcs crew could use a slight tweak with added color, spots or stripes. Perhaps even a Cadet.
Do you have ideas? Go ahead, let me know or show me.

(Ongoing) Awe design challenge/competition + Progress update
General | Posted 7 years agoHelp me design some Awes! Design a Awe or interesting fur pattern and get them into the game. The goal of this is to expand the general fur design of Awes and do so with a little bit of interactivity.
It's not entirely fair to call this a "competition" there might be many winners and there is no real deadline for when this will end. See it more as a chance to help me out and get the chance to add some your own touch to Aweworld. There are Awe crew-mates waiting for their chance to shine in the story.
I will be looking for not only interesting Awe characters but also color patterns. Bi-colored, spotty, striped. These kinds of features will get extra credit. In some cases, perhaps the character itself might not make it in, but their design might get adopted. Perhaps even onto an existing character of Aweworld like one of the officers.
If I like your design idea or concept, I will be introducing them to Aweworld as a possible character. They are likely to get their own portrait like this:
http://foxyden.eu/aweworld/Rooms/Im.....ets/Russel.png
I will consider all entries. If you can sketch out your Awe and their design, then that's most helpful. But I'll accept written descriptions and scribbles too.
You may use these templates below as reference or to color in your ideas.
Again, this will be an ongoing thing. I'll accept entries all the way until I've written the last sentence for the last chapter. Of course, the sooner the better.
Send your entries by note here or to my main account
Evoc or by email to aweworldgame@gmail.com .

Design guides/restrictions:
Patterns:
You may be pretty creative here but Simplicity is king. Keep the patterns 'natural' and in ways you might see in the wild or in for example domestic pets like cats and dogs. No wild spirals and complicated markings. Be careful with too much stripes also. Those are "Wulf" traits.
Color:
Awes have some restrictions in allowed colors. Most of them, the common Awes, have a not too distant common genetic ancestry. I wont quite allow blue or purple furred Awes, though if your character design has some small bits of dye that 'may' be acceptable. If you want to try something outside the norm, try to keep them 'Earthy' in color.
Common Awes (80% of Awes and most likely to make it in)
They all tend to have a yellowish tone of some sort. Brown fur is usually also a prominent feature in a lot of Awes. The tone of these colors however varies a lot from regions. There are Awes who are more ginger and rust colored and there are some who are more blackish brown. Some Awes of course may have mixed more recent heritage with Mountain-Awes or Raveneyes and may have grayish fur and patches of white or black respectively.
Mountain Awes:
Mountain Awes are basically all light colored. White, beige, silver, grey.
Raveneyes:
Dark colored fur. Black, dark grey.
Progress on Chapter 2:
This is slow going. Slower then I had expected. I'm sorry to leave so many of you waiting for this long. I didn't want to release one chapter and then take this long with the second one.
I've underestimated how much work there is to do, and I am just one guy. Some 'events' are harder to write then i thought also.
Most of all I have so very little energy and time left over from my job. I try to write a hour a day though. I have planed to finish chapter 2 by the end of this summer, but its going to be very tight.
Starting next year however, Its looking like might have a loooot of spare time. I've been considering taking a extended time off. I will have nothing to do but work on Aweworld then and will for certain finish the whole project and its expected full 3-4 chapters that year.

Chapter 2 Demolevel feedback and Awe competition prelude
General | Posted 7 years agoDemo Level complete
Good news everyone! The Demo-level is complete.
You can play-test it right now.
http://foxyden.eu/aweworld/Rooms/Ch.....Demolevel.html
This is a short little excursion to tease what to expect from chapter 2 where I've managed to experiment and test some concepts.
I would greatly appreciate your feedback.
There are still some parts of it I'm shaky about that will probably see some change in the final release.
The Officer stats being one of them for example. They are slightly nebulous in their current state.
Save system update
I have with some advice from
SpottedSqueak managed to make progress on a Save system Aweworld with the help of cookies that seems to work!
I shall be working on implementing it and release it for Chapter 1, probably along with Chapter 2 simultaneously. So you can work your way through the growing story of Aweworld in peace.
Awe design competition
As you might have noticed, I've also submitted some reference guides for Awes. Its been asked for here and there and I've always wanted to provide.
In short I'm planning to hold a slow-burn Awe-design competition. I'll be looking for Fur-pattern submissions to possibly adopt as canon. But those who dare go the full length and design a Awe character might find their submission adopted into a Character that joins the story in chapter 2 with their own portrait and all.
Ha, you've probably seen through me by now, I'm clearly outsourcing design work in the guise of a competition. Perhaps that's somewhat true, but this is something that everyone will be able to join, as long as you can convey your designs. Its not some full-fledged Art competition.
I'll be posting a separate journal on this later once I've gathered my thoughts on it. What are your thoughts on it? Should there be further incentive rewards? Am I lazy?

Creative/technical hurdles
General | Posted 7 years agoHello friends!
Its been a while with no updates again. Even though I confidently stated i'd have a demo out in a few weeks, 2 months passes with no word. That's my bad.
Summary:
This is a journal where I complain about creativity and then questions for some help.
Its not for the lack of being able to write, its about doubts in what direction/structure to build the game and how I'm starting to think it needs that save system.
Status:
While working on the Demo I've come to realize a few things. Previous experience has opened up more options in what I can do now compared to before and I cant quite keep everything I've planned in my head. The answer to those are simple. Experiment and organize yourself better, doofus!
But while trying to do that, one important fundamental question has grown louder and louder.
What is Aweworld?
Early on when I started way back when, one page had info and a few choices that took you to another page of similar simple design with some branching options sprinkled ontop. This made me have around 50 pages that were impossible to keep track off so I moved on (With help) to compact these and build a page into being a whole 'encounter' or event, like "The Merchant" in chapter 1 and many others. Now as I work on Chapter 2, the limits of what i can build these 'Event pages' into are even broader and the scope has grown and sort of paralyzed me.
I know what story i want to tell. I know the ending I want to eventually reach. But I find myself paralyzed by all the options of how to tell it! Is it a story, or is it a game? How much game vs how much story? What gamey elements do i want in there? Can I build that? Is there too much text?
Each time i think I've settled on one way to do it, a niggling feeling of there being a better way to tell the story bothers my mind. In my fear of wasting effort in doing it wrong, I end up doing little or nothing.
In the Demo I've constructed, you as Avolc, have a more of a commanding role. You arrive at a place of interest, you are given options in how to approach it and who to assign this responsibility to.
Depending on your choice of officer, things can go good or bad and you'll have to deal with the outcome.
It works alright, with some effort I've built a whole officer system for it with a way to assign individual officers possible stats that are tracked and can change and grow.
But again options keep opening. Do they gain experience, what stats should i present, how do i balance this is there room for each officer to shine and how do i deal with 'missing' officers? Is this really the best template for most of the event pages? Options options options.
Another major issue is saving and the length of this game.
Coding is my biggest weakness, I really have no clue how to go about it except in the most crudest of ways.
But with no way for players to save and Chapter 2 shaping up to be bigger then Chapter 1, how can I continue? Do I make it shorter? Will my way of keeping track of your choices have to be rebuilt? Doubts, mra!
Help wanted?
I feel sort of reluctant to say it, but I wish I had help with this.
Do any of you want to help with this?
What I need is someone who know javascript or might have a solution to the save dilemma.
But it might also be nice to have someone to bounce ideas with that can help me reach conclusions faster of what works and doesn't work in terms of writing and game mechanics.
Meanwhile I'll struggle along with the demo, its pretty much completed.

Chapter 2 update. Upcoming demo.
General | Posted 7 years agoHello everyone
Really sorry i haven't updated you on progress here. Truth be told there hasn't been much to report so news has been a bit slow regarding Chapter 2. New job has stolen most of my time and recently I've started to get a lot of responsibilities too.
But now I have some news!
Demo
I've been working on a demo page, both to tease what to expect in chapter 2 as well as help me test some new functions and get a working template of sorts.
Its about near completion, give me a few weeks or so, just needs a lot of polish.
Expect a short little event on one of the islands you'll be exploring in the upcoming full chapter.
Chapter 2
As for the full release, I cant say i have much of date yet. I crunch the fastest and hardest during my vacation times. That's going to be in autumn. But I'm not so confident I'll finish the chapter by then yet.
I know this is slow and many of you will probably forget this thing exists or loose interest before the time Chapter 2 is out. But so it goes.
Awe design competition?
Oh... I'm still tossing around the idea of putting up an Awe design guidelines for anyone who want to make their own Awe.
Perhaps even hold a competition about it that will see the winners design be put into a character for the story.
Just not sure how I'd go about and do that in the most fun and fair way.
I've been tossing around the idea to expand the general Awe look with some fur-patterns, rather then the mono-colored coats and brown manes for everyone. Nothing extravagant, but perhaps some faint tabby stripes or bicolor markings. Inspirations from the types of looks you might find on Cats and Dogs.
What do you think? Are they good as they are or do they need something more to diversify them rather then personality?

Update Chapter 2 and stuff
General | Posted 8 years agoHello!
Not sure wether anyone checks up on this account, but for anyone curious passing by, here's an update on my progress.
I've gotten a new job starting January! Thus had a lot of time off during December as I used up all my remaining overtime and vacation days. It was a lot of spare time I had hoped to write on Aweworld.
The amount I've written hasn't exactly been as much as I'd liked, as there's been some creative tossing and turning the story around in my head in how to make it all play out the best way.
When writing you really have infinite options in what direction to take a story. I think this fact sometimes creatively stifles me, as I cant fully settle on one direction and always feel like there's a better and more clever way to take the story that I'm missing out on and haven't thought of yet.
Regardless, I have a general outline of the chapter done and I've written on some early versions of the chapters more climactic moments as well as several starting pages.
I wish I had done more by now and am a bit disappointed in myself. At this rate I'm not that confident I will be able to churn out Chapter 2 in a years time like i had originally planned.
The new job means a lot of new challenges too. Its quite an upgrade career-wise, but I will also be working a lot more i think. So I doubt I'll have much more time to write during working months, especially in the coming months as I'll have so much new to learn.
But I have by no means given up on this project, I have a lot of epic moments and fun ideas I want to implement. I just hope everyone hasn't forgotten about it by the time I'm done.

Chapter 2 beginnings and Awes
General | Posted 8 years agoHello everyone
I've begun work on Chapter 2. I have the whole general story outline done, its just about writing the meat of it and making the events.
I will also be trying to add some new features to enhance the experience and add a new element to the game that might require some coding, so we'll see how it goes.
All in all, its all about time. None of which i have much of outside weekends, holidays and vacations. By pessimistic estimates, I think chapter 2 will take about a year to finish.
I've received a few messages of people making Awe characters for themselves. I find this very fun to see!
I've considered making a guide to Awes, so people can learn more about them and better be able to flesh out their characters if they should so wish.
I suppose it could excuse it as a useful update to the somewhat wonky and lacking Lore page on Aweworld.
On a final note, does anyone know a good easy way to make maps or someone that likes to make them?
I've tried "cartographer 3" but have found it very uncomfortable to work with.

First Week. Thanks and Information
General | Posted 8 years agoIts not been a week since I apprehensively released Aweworld. I had worked on it for so long, stared myself blind on its texts, polished and rewritten so many parts that I really had low confidence on whether it was truly good. I worried I got carried away with the story for one thing! I've had to cut a lot, so not to make it too long.
However, the response has been overwhelmingly more positive then I had dared hope for! Needless to say I'm hyped to start on Chapter 2! I thank everyone for reading and leaving feedback, its been helpful to know what worked well and people liked and not liked. Its been a very gratifying week.
I worked on Aweworld for over 3 years, mostly during my vacation times during summers and winters with long gaps in-between progress. My day-job is mentally draining and when I get home there is little energy left for creative thoughts, so my vacations have essentially been nothing but work on this project.
All those hours I spent, sometimes from morning to night, immersed in the creative process or tearing my hair at the frustration programming hurdles feel like they paid off in the end.
My worst nightmare was not that people would hate it, at least then I might find out what I did wrong, but that it would get a "meh" response and just pass on by.
My schedule has not really changed from before. But I will try harder to work on Chapter 2 after work and weekends. Its easier now when most of the big coding hurdles are done and I mostly only need to write story and not start from scratch. But I have some added feature ideas I wish to try to add that might be pretty neat, we'll see how it goes.
Let me know if there's something you'd like to see for chapter 2. Im all ears to your thoughts and ideas, but cant promise I'll do more then listen however!
I know I will be spellchecking it more thoroughly from the start. X3
I will be posting more Aweworld art on here. Probably some images from within the game as well. I know there's been some requests for a gallery of all the vore.
Oh and stats! If I'm reading Statcounter correctly, about 800 people out of 2600 reached the score screen of Aweworld.
