Tell me a secret!
General | Posted 13 years agoSomething you've never told anyone before. It doesn't have to be lurid; it can just be something silly, or inconsequential.
I'll tell you one of mine: I felt my first, hardest stirrings for fish vore when playing StarFox Adventures.
There's one place where a long-necked dinosaur stands beside a bridge. If you go far enough away and watch, every couple minutes, he will dig underwater, pull up a fish, toss it into the air, and swallow it. I just sat there for an hour, watching it happen over and over again, and wondering what this strange feeling was.

Second anniversary!
General | Posted 13 years agoYes, it's already been two years since I got this account. If you're observant, you'll notice that the account itself has been around since 2009, but was swiftly abandoned by whomever made it. I know it wasn't me, either, because I was on my honeymoon on the day it was made, thousands of miles from my computer. I took over the account in January 2011. It's been a good biennium, and I think we've made enough memories to last a lifetime. That said, let's do a bit of a retrospective.
2012 didn't see me uploading much art, mostly because I finished posting my backlog and (let's be perfectly honest!) I take a long time to draw things. I'm not sure whether having a tablet would improve that, but perhaps I'll try it someday. All the same, I posted as many journals as always. Once a week, rain or shine!
Let me plop down some statistics, for posterity's sake.
Total pageviews: 11023
Total submissions posted: 171
Comments received: 1995
Comments given: 1239
Journals: 104
Favorites: 3629
Watchers: 617
Just to put these numbers into perspective, the resulting ratios are:
21 favorites per picture
3.6 new watchers per picture
1.6 submissions per week
1 journal per week
15 pageviews per day

The years come and go, but I stay the same.
General | Posted 13 years agoWhat can we look forward to in 2013?
- Meeting new people and getting closer to old friends.
- Trying new foods and reading new books.
- Going to a con (just one of them!)
- Drawing and sewing new art.
- Taking thousands of new pictures.
- Getting some surgery, finally!
- Posting 52 more completely inconsequential journal entries.

Lost buddies
General | Posted 13 years agoEver since I started spending time online, I've had friends. Some stick around; some of my oldest online friends, I still talk with today. But that's not why we're here.
There's a great list of people I don't talk with anymore. We've either gone our separate ways, become in-person buddies, or... they've disappeared. I want to give a shout-out to all my online buddies that I haven't seen in ages. The ones who disappeared without saying goodbye. Maybe someday, they'll pop back online, but as far as I know, they're dead.
Plus a hundred more, some of whom I haven't thought about in years. You guys were awesome. I hope, wherever you are, you're happy.

Sneak preview
General | Posted 13 years agoMy most dedicated fans know that I like to work with huge images. Unfortunately, I have to reduce them to ~1500px wide when I upload them here; you really miss out on the detail I put into the pictures. My latest picture, for example, is 6000px wide, and that's not even that large - I've gone up to 128,000 x 128,000 in Photoshop (just as a test, any detail at that resolution would be practically invisible).
What do the pictures look like at their native resolution? Well, here is a sample (hence the SNEAK PREVIEW) of my forthcoming collab with
yellowpower :
http://i49.tinypic.com/2affz95.png
And at FA resolution?
http://i48.tinypic.com/b4vtap.png
Not a big deal, though. If you want the full version of any picture, you can send me a note, and I'll get it to you. Some of my largest pictures could be printed out poster-size for walls - if you could find a printing shop that's ok with porn.
One final note! This will be my first pic with variable-width, multi-color lineart. It's already taken over a week just to finish the lines (again, no tablet), so I'll probably do cel-shading to keep a coherent theme going and save time.
Hell, here's another close-up, this one at 400%:

Haiku Week Returns
General | Posted 13 years agoHaiku are simple.
If you can't write a haiku,
you might be brain dead.
This will last all week:
Everything I post here
must be a haiku.
If you wish to join,
(and why the heck wouldn't you,)
come give it a shot!
It's only a week.
So come tease and torture me.
Try to test my wits!

Artists ahoy!
General | Posted 13 years agoI am planning a commission/collab! I'll pay an artist (one of you?) to make some awesome sketches, and I will do the usual ink/color/shade. Consider this journal an early opportunity to promote yourself for the job, but it's not the final opportunity - the choice of artist will depend on the subject of the pictures. Ah, but how will we determine the subject?
Everyone gets to decide!
And by that I mean, post here for your idea for said pictures. I'm looking for a series of 3-5 pictures, and nothing is off-limits. Go ahead and suggest what you'd like to see, and the overall consensus will lead the project forward via a democratic process.
Examples:
"I want a f/f/m threesome with some enemies from an obscure game!"
"I want a series of licking/soft vore Pokémon pics."
"I want to see a realistic pigeon get ripped to shreds by Scrag~"
And if you're an artist?
Please make yourself known!
Anything else?
Tell your friends. If you know anyone who makes great sketches, shoot me a note or post their page here. I don't mind spending a good deal of cash to make my watchers happy :)

YES, I am there!
General | Posted 13 years agoI am there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am all over this FurFright business. I've got a bizarre costume and some cash, and I'm ready to rock the con.
That's right, straight up ROCK THAT CON!
If you are there, or if you're sitting at home but would like to pretend you're there, shoot me a message or look for the guy with a green box on his head.

Halloween costume complete!
General | Posted 13 years agoYes, it's all done: my Zombie Mudkip costume. I guess I might even make the sleeves into a full shirt; does anyone know any good patterns I could use? I've never tried it before, but I've got a ton of fabric, so there's really nothing holding me back.
You can see me in it at FurFright this year, or perhaps in pictures I post here. Whatever~

Busy weekend
General | Posted 13 years agoI won't be on much this weekend.
So I was thinking, maybe we could do some sort of group commission. For example, 20 people each chip in a dollar, and I do a $20 commission that everyone wants. Is there a precedent for that sort of thing? Is there a fair way to decide on a subject? I could just go, "Soft vore, snake and rabbit, will do if $20 is pitched."

No, I do not have a tablet.
General | Posted 13 years agoI do all of my drawings with a mouse: some with a Razer Copperhead or Diamondback, some with a Logitech MX 518. I love mice with lots of buttons. Typically, I map the thumb/pinky buttons to CTRL, ALT, Shift, and Enter, so I hardly have to touch the keyboard. Razers are probably my favorite to draw with, but of the three I've had, every single one has broken, and Razer won't repair mice. This MX 518 is about 7 years old now, and still in perfect working order. Just wish it weighed a little bit more; heavy mice are great for drawing smooth lines freehand. I suppose I could get the same effect by knocking down the sensitivity. The Razers have 5 presets that I can switch between, great for fine control when I need it. Just wish the drivers weren't so buggy.
But anyway, yeah, no tablet. I'd like to try one sometime, but given how bad my pencil sketches are, I wouldn't expect to see an improvement in quality.

Vore pets
General | Posted 13 years agoIt shouldn't be a secret to any of you that I enjoy watching things eat other things. Many of you share this attraction; if you do not, then this journal entry likely will not interest you!
I found some eggs in the woods this Spring, and decided that it was time for some pets, so I grabbed a dozen or so of them. They hatched after a few days, grew tails, then gills, then arms, then legs, and then absorbed their gills and came out of the water to live on dry land, where they will remain for the rest of their lives (breeding aside). That's right, they're SALAMANDERS! Specifically, these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambystoma_maculatum
They are adorable, stupid, lazy, and very, very voracious. Still tiny, but big enough to eat mealworms (they'll switch over to waxworms soon). Of course, I find this delightful, because I hand-feed them. Cute little salamanders, munching on live worms in the palm of my hand - and sometimes biting my fingers by accident, but it's no big deal.
Once they get older, they'll need bigger food, like crickets and earthworms. Maybe I'll even get them to eat fish, if I'm lucky! I could take video if anyone's interested in seeing.
Salamanders certainly aren't the best vore pets out there, though. Some of you have snakes, turtles, or similar animals; turtles are especially good for hard vore, as are mantis shrimps, centipedes, and some fish. Tell me what you've got! Tell me what it eats, and how awesome it is. I'm sure we're all curious :)

Aynblackfox - owes me $300 since 2007.

10,000 pageviews
General | Posted 13 years agoI took over this account about one and a half years ago, and we're nearly up to the big 10k mark. Or, as we call it in binaryland, 10011100010000! I don't have anything special to give my ten thousandth visitor, except for the satisfaction of seeing more zeros in the viewcount field than anyone else will for years. As for watchers, we're still below 600, so nothing special there. It's bizarre to think of my submissions showing up in 577 inboxes at once.
Let's like to take the occasion to look over some stats; maybe you'll be surprised!
Top three pictures, in order of views:

1419 - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6179764/
1408 - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5050718/
Seems vore is very popular with you folks.
Least viewed:

If we do some quick math, the average picture gets 200 views.
Top three pictures, in order of favorites:

61 - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6179764/
59 - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7477830/
The collabs I do with Classified-Crud seem to bring in the most hearts.
Least favorited: A two way tie!
0 - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7452507/
0 - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6801800/
Again, with some quick math, the average picture gets 21 favorites.
Disclaimer: THESE NUMBERS ARE MEANINGLESS! I appreciate views, watchers, and faves, but they don't make me a better artist than someone with fewer. Popularity isn't everything! I'd rather be unknown and approachable than a popular artist with a big head.

A hiatus on streaming
General | Posted 13 years agoWell, Livestream was fun while it lasted, but their latest version of Procaster is super buggy. Don't expect to see any more streams until they get it fixed.
In the meantime, content yourself with the fact that my streams are rather slow-paced anyway, as I don't have a tablet. Everything I draw is done with a mouse.

Amazing fact of the week, and a birthday greeting.
General | Posted 13 years agoDID YOU KNOW: You are more closely related to a sea urchin than to a squid? Even though squid have eyes, arms, and mouthparts, they're still protostomes. Sea urchins, humans, and all vertebrates are deuterostomes.

Poll: What is your preferred leisure activity?
General | Posted 13 years agoThe title says it all! I am rather curious, as most of my free time is taken up by reading comedy forums. Perhaps you dispense of yours similarly, or perhaps you prefer creative activities, eating, watching porn, or playing games.
Come now, don't be shy! You're not being judged. You clicked on this journal? Go ahead and post something!
