Oh...Freaking Awesome...

Turbo sent me his old Video Card after he got his new one up and running...I mean, I was running a Radeon 9600 and getting an X1600 to replace it. Awesome, right?
Well, my Power Supply is 6 years old and was only 350 watts. Needless to say, after a few hours of running, my room filled with smoke and my computer went kaput. Looked inside and sure enough, my PSU had fried. Thankfully, I managed to swipe my brothers old PSU and throw my old Video Card back inside, and amazingly, nothing was damaged in my comp. However... I need some money to get a new PSU, and possibly a case with better airflow.
SO... I have been asked about this a few times, but its official now. I'm gonna open up some commissions to try and help pay for the crap I need to get. If you're interested, then send me a PM. My info will be up in the commission area after I post this, so come take a look.
Also, on a lighter note, if anyone wants my wii code for smash bros brawl, send me a pm and I'll hand it out to ya :)

Anyways, you guys should come. It sounds like it is gonna be a really fun con, and I'm hella excited to be going. Still, I wish it was sooner. I already miss FC and all the people I met there...
On another note, I actually have been drawing, but its just that most of it isn't worthy to be put online, in my opinion. I will be posting some stuff soon though :)

New Happenings
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, this is my first official update in a while, and unfortunately, its right before I'm going to bed, so I'm gonna make it short and sweet.
First of all, school is going well. Getting a good portion of my work done and studying to get the decent grades I need.
Second of all, I got the information I need, and with it I can for sure go to AFF, and even possibly RMFC. So I'll see you guys there (or hopefully see you guys there in the case of the latter con).

FC Final Update (Part 2 of 2)

Saturday: Feeling better today, I jaunted over to the convention and hung around for a while, jsut...you know...walking around. Now that I think about it, I did a crapload of walking while there...ANYWAYS...*thinks* Damn, I put this off for too long, I cant remember much now...
What I DO remember is finally being able to approach a ton of new people and introduce myself (Yes, I'm shy, so sue me). Later on in the day, though, I met up with a good buddy of mine,
Mars in the dealers den, as well as his friend. We hung out for almost the entire day after that, and attended the only panel I actually went to the entire time, which was the "Intro to the Gaming Industry" panel headed by Spanwolf, who works in the industry himself. It was a fantastic and informative presentation, to say the least.
After he went home for the night, I basically hung out in the game room for what I thought was an hour (was actually 4 1/2) and played Rock Band all night with a group of people. Rock Band really shines when there is a crowd, especially when most of them are smashed to oblivion :P
That was all I can remember of Saturday...Like I said, I held this off for too long :(
Sunday: This was the best day of the con in my opinion. I get up, went tot he game room to practice for the Guitar hero 3 Tourney, then headed to the stage for it. Mars, his friend, and his boyfriend all showed up as well, for moral support :) The first round was painful, not because the song sucked, but we had to hear it like 16 times. I managed to win that round, but then got put up against a guy named Meesh...
Let me just say this...Meesh is a god at this game. So I already knew I was gonna lose. I got knocked out, and watched the rest of the tourney. The final round (of which I recoded 2 of the three songs) was nuts. It was Meesh versus another guy, Yoshi. Meesh won, and that was that.
We all went out and walked around for a while in the Dealers Den (where I picked up 2 great books, Serenity Found, which has a bunch of essays and commentaries about the show Firefly and the movie Serenity, and Waterways, the book Kyell Gold was selling. we then parted ways, and I walked around for a while...couldn't find anyone I had met who wasn't busy at the time, and went back to my hotel room to read.
I went back that night to watch the Taiko Drum performance and Furry Night Live, both of which were excellent (got footage of both as well). Played Rock band some more after FNL was done, then headed back to my room to crash for the night.
Monday: Monday was basically me getting everything packed up and ready to leave. Didn't meet anyone at the con that day, either :(. Well, my fortune changed when I got to the airport...5 hours early (in my defense, the airline security was a lot worse in Salt Lake City, and I overcompensated for it enough without bypassing it all in 10 minutes).
I read for a while, finished one of my books, and went to go for a small walk to stretch out when, as luck would have it, there were some furs at the food court, and not only furs, but ones I had talked to at the con. We talked for a good long time before they had to get on thier flight, but it was still a blast. Then I met someone I was playing Rock Band with on Saturday. Best part? We were on the same flight...RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER on the plane :D. Needless to say, the ride home was awesome.
All in all, the con was a blast. I fully wish to return next year...and hope to make it to more this year...but first I need spare cash...and time...

FC Final Update (Part 1 of Some Undetermined Number)
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, here we are, and Monday morning has finally arrived. Looking back at the last 5 days, it seems like almost no time has passed at all. So much has gone on, so many people have been met...it's all kinda blurred together. Thankfully, I got tons of pictures and video to help pull everything apart and let me remember what an awesome time I had here with all of you guys.
Let me see if I can recap exactaly how the weekend went down...
Wednesday: I arrived at San Jose. Great little airport that I was greeted to. Soon found my Aunt, then had a great time with her eating lunch. We went to my hotel, checked in, and then I went to the Doubletree to get aquainted with the place I was going to be spending the next five days of my life. And let me tell you, what a place it was! The Doubletree is GIGANTIC, and I really can't emphisize that enough. It also manages to have the aethsetics of one of the nicest places I have stayed in. I met some people, hung out with them for the nigh, and shuffled off to my hotel to get aquainted with my roommates and crash into a prepatory sleep for what was soon to come.
Thursday: Thursday started off with an aching back (Yes, I slept on the floor). However, that was fixed by a hot shower and a delicious breakfast. Headed over to the Doubletree and saw a whole lot more people there than there were on Wednesday. The local people probably didnt show up until that day, it seems. It also looked like there were various business meetings still going on before the convention actually started, so there were a lot of people in fancy suits looking at everyone in tails, paws, and fursuits looking like they were about ready to scream "What the %$%#$ is wrong with you people?!?!"...priceless.
Nothing much else happened until 4 PM, when registration started. The line was absolutely gigantic, so I decided not to even bother registering until later that night. Hung out with peopel some more that night, got registered (The badges were awesome, by the way), then headed back to my hotel room to crash for the night. The reason I headed back early was due to the fact that, if you read my earlier posts, I got food poisoning. Needless to say, that night was miserable. Fast forward to the next day...
Friday: Well, today was kind of short for me in regards to the convention. I got to bed at 10:30 AM and didnt get up until 3:30 PM. I Shambled over to the convention, went to the upper floor of the con part of the hotel, and layed down for a minute. without realizing it, I had slept for another 2 hours. Oddly enough, I still didnt feel fully rested, so I staggered around in what I thought might look like a drunken daze for a while, before deciding that more sleep was probably the best thing for me at this point. Sucks that most of my friday was wasted, but at least I managed to get the courage to talk to a few people I've been wanting to intorduce myself to, which was cool.
I'm going to go ahead and cut this journal short by 3 days. There are other people who probably need to use this public terminal,and I dont want to deprive them of it. I'll finish the other 3 (more eventful) days in a second, possibly third, journal post when I get home. Anyways, I'll see ya guys soon!

Also, due to the persuasiveness of Spanwolf (Who headed the intro to gaming careers panel I attended earlier), I am going to try and start up my own little gaming related blog soon, so stay tuned to see if I actually follow through with it.

Not only did I get to meet a couple of really awesome people in the flesh, but I'm feeling a ton beter today as well.
Also attended a panel that dealt with getting into the gaming field, which was actaully quite a lot of fun, as well as informative. Then came the Fursuit Parade...
Let me jsut say up front, DAMN there were a lot of suiters. I mean, a ton. Took like 1/2 an hour for all of them to pass me by. But it was still a blast to see all the suiters I've seen online in person...and nothing quite beats the real thing.
Other than that, nothing much to report. Spent some time in the game room and rocked it out a bit on GH3 and Rock Band, mainly to practice for the GH3 tourney that is tomorrow morning.
Well, if there is anything else to report later, I will, but for now, I'll be hanging out and stuff, and might go to the dance later tonight.
So far, this con has been a riot, and I'm going to be majorly upset when it's all over.

(Food Poisoning sucks, btw. anyways, I'll be back there son enough, although probably not at my full vitality. Bit of a slump

I haven't really had the initiative to do anything artistically lately, and it's probably due to 3 videogames coming out in short succession that were really, REALLY addicting (I'm looking at you, Orange Box, Guitar Hero 3, and now Super Mario Galaxy!) Add to the fact that I'm struggling to stay at a 4.0 in my classes to retain my scholarship and I'm one physically and emotionally exhausted wolf.
I'm gonna try to break out of this funk, but in the meantime, hopefully you can bear with me :P

It's finally happened.
General | Posted 18 years agoI have finally reached the level of nerdiness that I have been dreaming of. I was recently shown that there was indeed a comic book shop in Utah (which surprised me) and I have been geeking out looking at comics, buying them, and reading them since Saturday.
Sometimes I wonder if it's healthy to revel in this amount of nerd...ah well. Back to reading Fables!
I wonder if anyone actually reads these journals... ah well, I don't care, cause they are fun to write!

I've Noticed Something.
General | Posted 18 years agoI took a look back at what I've done (art wise) over the last few months and thought "Hmm...these could look a lot better"
It's just my opinion, but a few of my peices feel kinda half-assed to me, so before I work on anything new (Barring my current crossover piece between A.W. and Portal :D ), I'm going to go back and make sure my other pieces look at least halfway decent.
On another note, I got Guitar Hero 3 on Sunday. It's a blast, but DAMN does it get hard. For the veterans out there, let me put it to ya this way. Freebird has NOTHING on any of the songs in the last bracket, especially "One" and "Raining Blood." The solo in "One"...just wow.
*Update* Managed to beat it, finally. The final battle was nothing short of amazing. :P "Cliffs of Dover" is also now one of my favorite songs of all time.
Anyways, that's all for now.

On another note, I got Guitar Hero 3 on Sunday. It's a blast, but DAMN does it get hard. For the veterans out there, let me put it to ya this way. Freebird has NOTHING on any of the songs in the last bracket, especially "One" and "Raining Blood." The solo in "One"...just wow.
*Update* Managed to beat it, finally. The final battle was nothing short of amazing. :P "Cliffs of Dover" is also now one of my favorite songs of all time.

I haven't gotten on messenger in a few days.
I really haven't been doing anything.
I'd like to say that it's because I'm studying like I should be. That is not the case.
I bought the Orange Box for PC a few days ago. In those 2 days, I have logged on about 16 hours worth of playtime in both Portal and Team Fortress 2.
I'm going to TRY and pull myself away from it for a few days so I can study, work on some art, and get on messenger and SL. However, that is like asking a drunk to give up alcohol for me right now.
Anyways, I'll get back to ya all when my life isn't being ruined by awesome team based gameplay and one of the best game engines I've even played with.

General | Posted 18 years agoHome repairs are finally complete! I finally have less stress in my life and much, much more time to work on stuff, so if you have a request, please, by all means, let me know :P
I am working on a comic type thing at the moment, and have 2 of the 5 panels done. Hopefully I can get it done by tonight or tomorrow.

General | Posted 18 years agoThat's right. Home remodeling has turned from a friendly project into an all out war. Tensions are high, people are tired as hell...and we have NO SNACKS!
Back to being serious, I'm about 1/3 done with my 1/2 of a trade I have going with
wolfang_blitz . The picture itself is done. All I have left is to ink the lines (Not too hard) and color it (Ugh).
Well, I've gone blah blah blah and wasted enough time. Hopefully I can actually get working on stuff again at a faster pace. :D

As for now, its a massive amount of work, especially on top of my real job and school.
I'm still taking requests and trades if anyone is interested. So far, I'm only working on one, but really, I need some more. It's not like I'm THAT swamped :P

A Few Ideas
General | Posted 18 years agoAight, first of all, things are going great. Homework is getting done, tests are being passed, and I'm getting everything I need to done, so I'm doing awesome right now.
I am going to work on some gift arts now. If anyone is interested, jsut message me and I'll get started on it :P
Second, I was thinking of setting up a "Choose what happens next" type thing for my story if it happens to be somewhat liked. For now though, I need to establish a bit more backstory.

...It means absolutely nothing, except I'm that much closer to finally moving out of my parents house. :P
Anyways, I'm currently in the process of writing a story to put up here. What's it about? Well you'll just have to see when it goes up, won't you?
Still working on getting a reliable way to scan my pics onto the comp, but I've been drawing in the meantime. I've also been toying with the idea of maybe starting up a few commissions,,,I dunno.

General | Posted 18 years agoNow that things have calmed down a bit (and that I've finally found a way to get my pictures on my comp w/o a scanner for the time being) I've decided to upload some old art from last year into my scraps section. I *AM* working on some new stuff, and in the process, also trying to get better an find a style that I like. I should be done with one I'm working on in a few days, so I'll finally have something to put in my real gallery.
Also, I got a reservation down in San Jose, and will be attending FC next year. If anyone cares. :P

General | Posted 18 years agoBeen really busy with school preparation and such...college is such a pain in the ass...but completely worth it in my opinion. I still have no means of getting my artwork on my computer, but I should be fixing that minor inconvenience relatively soon. I may upload some scraps from my old Da account in the meantime to help fill up some empty space.
