Happy Thanksgiving
Posted 17 years agoI'm thankful for friends and family -- the most important things in the world, above any amount of surround sound video games electronics cars money etc etc. Without y'all the world would be a sad and lonely place.
Now go have some turkey. :)

Yesterday, Tomorrow, and YOU
Posted 17 years agoThere's not much I can say about this. This is an episode from the 1978 BBC series "Connections", starring James Burke, and deals with our perception of the world and a look at the future that, for being made in 1978, seems just as valid today, if not moreso. Please view this program -- I think it'll give you something to think about. It'll take less than an hour.
Also think about how you make descisions that can affect yourself and everyone around you when based more on emotion than fact.

OST meme (baaaah, baaaah, I'm a sheep)
Posted 17 years agoStoled from BNG and everyone else in the world who's doing this right now because I thought it'd be funny but ended up being almost appropriate for most, terrible for some, and hilarious for at least one.
1. Open your music library.
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question, type the song that's playing.
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button.
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.
7. ???
8. PROFIT!
Songs:
Opening Credits:
Bruce Springsteen - My City Of Ruins (Uhhh....okay.)
Waking Up:
Phish - Swept Away (This would probably put me to sleep instead of wake me up)
First Day At School:
Rod Stewart - Reason To Believe (But which school?)
Falling In love:
Dave Matthews Band - Sleep To Dream Her (Wow -- this was appropriate)
Fight Song:
Eagles - Get Over It (This almost works...)
Breaking Up:
Paul Van Dyke - Today (This does NOT work...)
Prom:
Basement Jaxx - Romeo (The sort of reason I wouldn't go to a prom!)
Life's OK:
Alanis Morissette - Utopia (...hmmmm...)
Mental Breakdown:
Journey - Open Arms (HAH HAH HAH)
Driving:
Beethoven - Fur Elise (I must be stuck in traffic somewhere)
Flashback:
Steve Miller Band - Space Cowboy (We're going back to the 1970s all right...)
Getting Back Together:
Madonna - Ray of Light (Hmm...no.)
Wedding:
The Byrds - Tum Tum Tum (It's a hippie-dippie wedding!)
Birth of Child:
Beatles - In My Life (Seems a bit premature...)
Final Battle:
Bruce Springsteen - Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (BEST. PICK. EVAR.)
Death Scene:
Genesis - Home By The Sea (This is about a burglar who breaks into a house only to find it haunted and becomes captured, forced to listen to their stories for the rest of his life. Technically, a death scene, but a LONG ONE.)
Funeral Song:
Grand Funk Railroad - Closer To Home (Well, this works, too!)
End Credits:
Four Tops - Sugar Pie Honey Bunch (Sufficiently peppy for end credits)

Dinosaur birthday!
Posted 17 years agoSo I'm 65 million and 29 years old today. Whatcha get me?
I'm BACK. Rawr, rawr, y'better run.
Posted 17 years agoI'm back and with a pretty new Antec Three Hundred PC case that, so far, seems to have solved the horrible reliability issues I've had with my PC for the past month. I couldn't figure out why my desktop was performing so poorly, locking up, etc. Turns out it was overheating, so transplanting all the stuff into a case with more space and fans seems to have done the trick.
I'll have to update the website soon -- my sketchbook, my ONLY sketchbook, is full. It's epic now. Filled with the awesomeness of people who can actually draw stuff. I need to make sure it gets online -- and also that the people who drew stuff get scans of what they did!
Happy birthday to everyone who I missed in the last month, too. ;)

8.4 Earthquake Hits Bay Area
Posted 18 years ago...which is exactly what the papers will read after I go stomping around San Jose this weekend.
I'll be at Further Confusion Saturday and Sunday. Not Friday, though. I'll be the guy with the "ASTOR" badge on. THIS year I'll have a rental car so I can go see the Winchester Mystery House. And go to an In 'n Out Burger and see what all the fuss is about. And do whatever else I damn well please. Yarrrrrr.

I Haz a Website
Posted 18 years agoAstor and Viggen have been doing enough lewd things for long enough...I guess it's finally time to just turn all that porn loose on an unsuspecting public. Watch your step, bring a raincoat. Or snorkel gear.
