Little bit of backstory
General | Posted 11 years agoSo to understand who I am as a fur a little bit of backstory might be necessary. A few months ago when I first became a fur I knew there was Wolf in me, because nothing is more important to me than loyalty, compassion, and strength of self. While I have had people I thought were my friends turn their back on me, and in some cases stab me in the back, nothing is more important to me than friendship (hence my personal quote). My friends are my family, and those that have stuck with me through the past few years will tell you that. In short, don't betray me, don't stab me in the back, and I'll always be there for you, no matter what. I'm also constantly on the search to understand the world around me, which I believe is part of the reason I studied Philosophy in university. Sometimes this may cause me to ask what a few too many times (which thankfully I have friends who will call me out on lol).
As for the Phoenix, that came to me at what was, frankly, the worst time in my life. My girlfriend had left me, I was forced to move back in with my parents, and I was on financial aid for stress-induced anxiety. Basically I felt like I had nothing, until I had a dream about a Phoenix rising from the ashes, and I've always taken that as a sign that I could rise up from my own ashes, and be a whole new, stronger person, which I have been working towards ever since. This has progressed over time from a metaphor, to the basis for a tattoo, and finally a central part of my fursona, and I'm so excited to finally have a final decision on my species... Even if it now means incorporating wings ;)
Wow, that was way longer than I intended, if you actually read this far I'm flattered lol. Honestly though I hope this gives everyone an idea of what I'm about, and how discovering Furry Fandom has been one of the most positive experiences of my life :)
