 ukent is such a great friend and a fantastic artist! Him and I first spoke to each other over 8 years ago, when I was super lonely working in homophobic Uganda. His TMNT work caught my eye and lust, both of us appreciating their sexy two toed feets. Since then we've kept in touch and shared out thoughts about TMNT and monster art. He's done some amazing work for me recently, and I know he's going through his own personal challenges as well, and I just want to thank him for being such an amazing friend in my journal as well as my instant messages. :D

Okay, for some artists, the fairly popular ones that do starting bids and auto buys at insane prices, I'm getting to the point of why even bother bidding. It's very obvious that there are some fairly wealthy furs out there that can afford to auto buy an auction even at several hundred dollars. So you artists out there that get this kind of work stop with the pretense of an auction, just put out an insane price and i'm sure it will get bought.

I understand some artists 'have a life' but if they have troubles completing paid commission work in a reasonable time frame then maybe they should reconsider commissioning themselves. The ones that take on work, receive payment, then disappear after 'funding their new laptop', you are worse than shit!

If I went to work and left cause I felt like it, or I was stressed from the work, I'd loose my job. I get stressed all the time, I deal with it, and manage it.

Seriously, I don't want to hear about how great a con was, I really do not want to. I live in Canada and in Canada we are SCREWED when it comes to traveling by air. It costs a fucking fortune to go almost anywhere, and in some cases it's cheaper to fly to Tokyo than to Vancouver! I really want to got to AC or BFLC or FC or QADFEWDFEEADSFGDS, but it's a million times harder for us northern chumps. Yay for the illegal collusion of our non competing carriers of Air Canada and West Jet. Oh our dollar is at .75 cents to the US dollar.

You shouldn't be afraid of friends. You shouldn't be afraid to say anything to them, to tell them how you feel without a lashing out in return. If the response is always defensive and cold, after explaining how you feel, then is it really worth it? Is the friendship based on fear? Fear of being alone? Is the fear used against you?

It might hurt for a bit to end it, but was it really a good friendship from the beginning?

I'm a bit late understanding this but I guess when you're young and stupid at the time...

Okay, this is the last one tonight, probably over tired and grumpy. It's always been my belief that whether it be an email, text or post, if you commit to a posting or message then follow through. It's polite to reply and to comment, even if it's something I don't agree with, I believe in fully open debate. I do take into consideration what people have to say and reflect on it. I don't take offense easily, so feel free to say anything. I honestly do believe that it's ridiculous to be bashful, prudish and easily offended on a level that would make Mrs Bucket look like Howard Stern (she's a character off of a UK series called Keeping Up Appearances), on a website that features plenty of hardcore stuff. As someone has said it's not good to make assumptions, but that goes for both ways. Sometimes our experiences are highly different, it's just that mine have been fairly negative lately, and in general as well since 2001. And SOMETIMES it's good to get all the feelings out in a good rant.

One thing that has always drove me nuts about the furry fandom, something I have noticed from day one, a decade and a half ago for me, is how freaking cliquey furries can be.
Now I understand that popular artists and some furs really do get spammed with messages and comments and it's very difficult for them to reply, but it's the others that have no reason to be so socially rude that I have issues with. The ones that seem so full of themselves, have a thousand watchers for no good reason other than commissioning and posting tons of art work made for them; who seem to use the pictures as 'hey look what I can do and you can't' type deal. Oh look 'I'm going to a con again, find me if you can hehehehehe' and so forth. But my god, don't expect a fucking reply or even be noticed if you're not in their select group of other talent-less commission whores.
And how about the furs that post sexually charged or suggestive art and get all prudish if you even say something to them?? Don't fucking tell me that posting pictures of yourself at fur cons being stepped on by every single fursuiter is not sexual at all. You don't seem shy to ask complete strangers to step on you for your jollies but you have a socially retardation towards being polite to others.

This artist Sammy Rogan repeatedly posted a 2 for 50 dollar commission. Apparently this person is a fraud. I thought the artist was legit after reviewing their page, as it showed a couple of commissions done for some furs but apparently these were copied and recolored work from other artists.

A feel like a fucking idiot.

Does anyone else get annoyed with the spammy posts of pictures from MFF? Yeah some of the fursuits are neat to see but I'm sure the suiter has pics on his or her page. The posts feel boastful and rubbing it in on those of us that can't afford to go or have obligations (like work or school) that prevent us.

So they've determined that ancient humans used to have barbs on their whoppers (using the Ugandan slang cause I don't know what the plural for penis is). Making us more like cats than dogs! Apparently chimpanzees have these barbs, did not know that. They just aren't too sure what the barbs are really for, like increased stimulation, vag unblockers etc.

Griping about a very dissapointing fur meet on here so that I don't get flamed on another web site if I posted this journal entry there.
Some people just can NOT organize events properly. We just had one here today, and it was terrible! If you enjoy standing around feeling akward and being generaly bored, then that gathering would be perfect for you! The damn organizer was an hour late for his own event. Yeesh! Nothing going on, not even a frisebee to throw about, forcing everyone to intereact, to get to know the new people.
My mate and I are about to give up on the whole event thing here. A weekend can be better spent with a few good friends, a movie and silliness. And even better a day spent with my mate having good food and tv together. : )

I have a theory as to why furs have attraction to animal features such as tails, fur, paws, muzzles, etc.
I think it's the same reason as to why some people have foot fetishes. Researchers, using brain scans, have shown that the area in the brain associated with the groin is next to the area associated with your feet. They have noticed in foot fetishers that there is 'spill-over' signals in the areas, so for them there's a sexual orientation with feet.
I believe that in furs, the part of the brain responsible for recognizing animals is close to the groin region, or sexual, area of the brain, having the same spillage of signal. A study could probably confirm this, using brain scans for activity. Buuuuut, I'm just a failed theoretical chemist, working as an administrator for seismic exploration, currently on sick leave.
