What the HECK was I thinking?
General | Posted 6 years agoPSA: Never make art while sleep-deprived, kids, and if you do, certainly do not post it. That is all.
Never change, furries. Never change.
General | Posted 6 years agoWithin less than 5min of uploading a dick pic, I have the first comment on anything I've posted (a heart emoticon), my second ever watcher, and the second favorite on any of my posts. As the title says, may the furry community never lose its horny side.
Who is Ulysses?
General | Posted 6 years agoBeyond some basic info on my userpage, I wanted to provide some background for my fursona, Ulysses DuBois. Where is he from? What is he like? That sort of thing. He grew up on Earth in a Francophone family, but not the Earth you and I know. Ulysses is human by ancestry, but his family hasn't looked traditionally human for centuries. Genetic therapy and mind uploading have made the human form a matter of preference. Most people stay at bipedal and recognizably anthropomorphic for convenience, but there are exceptions. Many opt to live entirely digital lives, their minds pure data in an ocean of subnet content. The subnet is basically their internet.
Back to Ulysses though.
IMPORTANT: FROM THIS POINT ON, I WILL BE SPEAKING AS MY FURSONA UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED. THIS APPLIES TO ALL FUTURE JOURNALS.
I am the diplomatic officer on the UFS Waterloo. My job is to represent humanity in all its myriad forms to any potentially intelligent lifeforms of extraterrestrial origin, assuming their culture is ready to make first contact. So far, we haven't found anything even close to complex life aside from some early colonies from Earth. Most had collapsed, unfortunately. As for personal stuff, I'm in a relationship with my best friend that I've known since before either of us could speak. I have a few friends that I hang out with every Tuesday and Friday. We play games, chat, and generally have fun like any other group. Every third Friday we have a party. It's great.
My strengths:
Optimistic
Altruistic
Idealistic
I'm in the 80th percentile intelligence range (i.e. top 20%), though sometimes it doesn't feel like it. At least I'm not working with idiots.
Diligent. I still study first contact procedure even though I'm fairly certain we're alone out here for the foreseeable future. I've been wrong before.
My weaknesses:
Great around strangers and co-workers, awkward around people I'm close to.
Oblivious to flirting. Not a problem now that I'm romantically involved with someone, but it still bothers her.
I'm working on taking compliments graciously and without snark.
I need to get to the rec center and exercise more often. I enjoy exercising, but finding time is difficult.
Probably a bit naive, but I work with such genuinely wonderful people so it's hard not to see the best in everybody.
