Posted 11 years agoThese last couple of months have been pretty mad mainly down to moving and starting Uni!
So yeah, I've stared Uni. As some of you may know i was working as an Animal keeper for a couple of years and alas the zoo came under new management and contracts weren't renewed so i was left looking for a new job but it seems that even zoo's have now moved on to the whole need a piece of paper to show you can do a job thing so im now at Uni doing a degree in Animal Management which apart from the business assignments I'm enjoying :)
This has meant moving to the other end of the country and i'm now down Bristol way living here for the next few years until i finish my course which im starting to get used too as ive never lived on the coast before so it been a bit weird for me.
Hopefully now that things are settling down i can start getting out and having people down as i haven't seen anyone in AGES!!! Hopefully i shall be at the LFM Winter party depending on hand in dates and such but needing to catch up with people so should be there,
apart from all that things are cool, will try and be a bit more active on here as well as meets and such. Also off Scotiacon next week i think so that should be a laugh and means i get to play about in Aigus fro a weekend which will be good.

As some of you may have noticed i haven't been very active over the last 4 months due to life stuff so haven't had the time or motivation to get out and about recently.
(Long ass journal but meh been a while :P)
WORK!
But yeah, during December i had a pretty crappy shift one night at work where a member of staff started a fight with me over something pointless so i was like fook this off im gone. Luckily at this time a mate of mine had collared a manager job at a new Subway store that was opening and basically got a job there within about 5 mins after ringing him lol Tis always about who you know.
But yeah ive been working here for the last 3 months since it opened so i started on like 70 hour weeks whilst we were opening and training staff as i basically started at supervisor there which was a perk but hours have now finally settled back down to normal full time stuff. But yeah as of like 2 weeks ago my mate stepped down from manager position and i revived a call from the store owner offering the store manager position to me 0.0 Was pretty surprising but i guess im good at what i do and 7 years of catering experience helps i guess. I did turn this position down thou due to my future plans and explained it to him which he was happy i did rather than waste his time so has said he will honour me any position on my C.V up to assistant manager <3 so im pretty happy with that.
GYM
So as those who have met me know i am pretty much a human stick. Because of this one of my mates/the guy who im currently working with a Subway and got me the job always jokes around about it and says i need to bulk up. Finally he has convinced me to give it a go which has become harder than expected. Because im putting on muscle weight and not fat weight im having to eat healthy food but loads of it as well as keeping on top of gym time and such. Im hoping over the next 6 months to put on about 1-2st which would be a good weight for my hight so yeah as far as it goes im enjoying it having a plan and scheduled but eating so much is becoming troublesome. So yeah hoping to be a bit bigger for CF WOOP!
FUTURE PLANS!
So yeah, as some of you may know i previously worked as an Animal keeper for 2 years in a local collection round here which i loved. Never during that job did i ever feel like 'Ugh gtg work sigh' even when it was 7am and -14' outside. The job was hard but so rewarding. Since my contract ended when it came under new management and they got rid of 90% of the staff there so they could bring in there own i have wanted to go back into it but i have found it super hard.
This is mainly because everyone wants a degree. So even thou i did the job paid for 2 years this means nothing compared to a degree, even thou the person who took my position had a degree and no experience and had 2 welfare incidents in the first 2 months which proves its not all about degrees. But yeah even with this still everywhere wants a Degree so ive been forced to finally give in and go along with it.
This has been tricky thou as i have been out of education for like 5 years and don't have the best of qualification.... So out of the 5 places i applied for 3 said no 1 invited me in for an interview which the interviewer asked me some questions and after said that "I was the most honest down to earth person she had interviewed who gave both intelligent & ethically balanced answers and she could tell that had worked with animals and had a true passion for it because of them" Which made me feel good but once again was let down due to grades.....
Finally was left with 1 place left who finally after i started giving up hope rang me up and talked ot me about it and my grades and why its taken me so long to decide to go uni and about my past and stuff and working with animals and finally after 2 weeks i got a call offering me a place at UWE which will actually be taught as Weston collage rather than Bristol Uni but meh im just happy to be going somewhere and getting on with my animal career.
So yeah.... im stressing the fook out as i haven't studied in like 5+ years and i feel like im going to fail and not understand stuff and fail the course before its even started 0.0 I've ordered some books and stuff to start refreshing myself on a few things to get ready but im still worried but oh well guess that's just how i am.....
So that's what's been going on in life for the last 5 months and its been pretty mad. Haven't suited or been any meets or really talked to anyone since LFM winter party so im hoping now its all getting under control i can start going to meets and seeing everyone again as i miss you all.
Also on a side note i don't think any of this would have been possible for me without Mercury there in my life to help motivate me and convince me to get back into keeping. I really do owe her as i probably would have just ended up settling unto some job i hated without her being there for me :) *Getting all mushy*
So yeah loads of stuff not alot of time and hopefully ill be back soon.

Personally mine are WASPS! i used to really not like Bee's as well but over the past couple of years i've got better with them but wasps still don't sit well. I know there good for the environment killing pests like greenfly and stuff but still..... EEEEP!

Why i'm not bothered by my birthday, Christmas & Dec
Posted 13 years agoOkay, So December in general for me is a bit of a Shite month, yet contains both my birthday on the 8th & Christmas shortly after which are usually looked upon as fun exciting things. For me they are not so great.
My birthday being the first of my dislikes, is mainly down to me having not done anything for it since i was like 19. Also there was an issue with my 21st that left me in a "why should i bother" mentality.
Also the fact that i feel really uncomfortable with people buying me things and spending money on me :S
This year has been a strange one for me. In the past i have always got random gifts here and there but never got anything really personal to me until this year when Mercury surprised me at the LFM party with an early birthday present which was amazing! (Will upload it later) But yeah, really caught me off as it was a really personal and thought out gift..... Newho nuff of me being all soppy and mushy cus im a manly roo and stuff :P
Christmas i think is in general an overpriced/Over-hyped holiday. Mainly because im a Scrooge but also because i don't have a great relationship with family which usually ends up in an awkward day together. Because of this i have worked the last 4 Christmas days which have been EPIC! Love working Christmas tis always a laugh.
This year i have it off and am currently deciding on how im going to get away for the day and hide X3
So yeah..... In general December is a crappy month for me and along with xmas and the birthday i have a few other personal reasons why i don't like the month. ALSO ITS SO FREAKING EXPENSIVE! Everything just goes up in price for like no reason GAWD!
But yeah, Random rant and reasoning as to why i don't like and try to avoid December :3
My only words towards it "Bring on 2013!"

Lee sin then decided because we didn't die as well he's never ganking bot.

Eurofurence Ticket FOR SALE!!

So, due to some unexpected turn of events i am now unable to go to EF this year which sucks as i missed last years as well because of having to work emergency cover. This year they have employed new staff which they don't need and to prove a point have kept them on and cut everyone's hours -_- Which has left me unable to get over there and such with having to buy some needed Motorbike parts....
NEWHO! down to the point. I have a Early arrival + Late departure Superior Room ticket for sale! The ticket is 430.00 €

Posted 13 years agoIve been busy with work and Cf prep recently and been a bit away from everything. Hopefully when i return form CF i should be more active on here :)
Also on the 2nd point i want to the British Tarantula show Sunday and picked up a couple of Chaco Golden Knee Tarantulas 'Grammostola pulchripes' About 2cm ish. There complete opposites thou. One litterally nails any feed you put in before it even hits the ground but the other has dug itself a burrow and sits in wait. Really interesting to watch, Shame the burrow was dug overnight would have love to see it moving all that dirt out and making it.
But yeah CF in like 2 days so im getting hyped up for it! Packing tonight then off to the mutts aka Brixston's then off Cf on Thursday morning via a certain blue fox's place :)

EF ticket sold and stuff!
Posted 13 years agoOkay so after the attempt to not get personally involved in the sale of the ticket and have to chose one friend over another which has failed, i have now been left with just having to choose someone and it will be a bias decision.
I'm going to be selling it to a very good friend of mine because i owe him big time tbf. This time last year he helped me out super last minuet with CF accommodation with i would have been left in the shit with if not. Also around this time last year he saved me by stepping into a situation which he easily could have stayed out of to prevent me being hit by a shit storm of drama and trouble caused of a bad situation gone wrong. In general he's always been a top guy and has always been there if and when i needed him so this has made it an easy decision.
I have had offers from people offering more money for the ticket but realistically i own this guy big time so id rather give him a thankyou over me gaining some extra cash.
This is final so apologies to all those who wanted the ticket but this is hows it turned out.

Because of this i now am unable to go. Thus meaning i have an : Superior Double (Early + Late) + Convention ticket) FOR SALE
There are NO hotel spots left available so this is one of the few which will be sold sure to people not being able to go because of reasons beyond there control.

Posted 13 years agoFound out today that for Easter were getting chicks in at work as normal for the whole zoo at Easter time bunny chicks and shizz.
I then found out were getting ducklings!!!! Not only are ducklings > Chicks it mean i will also have a little group of 6 ducks quacking round the section!!! Ima give them silly names... Or may sly'ly name one Aigus X3
