Finished with edits from Chapters 23, and made a nice discovery last night.

As Werewolf Tale continues to be refined, I figured now is the time to work on designing a website for it and the content related to it. It turns out, the software I decided on, BlueGriffon, has a built-in system for embeding fonts from FontSquirrel, which was where I found two of the fonts Werewolf Tale will use for the final release.

I've got some grasp of HTML and CSS already, but this will certainly make it easier to embed the fonts and get at least a prototype set of pages made. (The website for LoboLeo seems like a good one to get ideas from.)

Sean just sent me the notes for Chapters 17-22. One more chunk to go, and this edit will be complete.

Also, two things.

#1 - For the AMA, here's a third choice to add to the existing Rollercoaster Tycoon and Fallout: New Vegas: I can Let's Play The Sims 3 with all five main characters of Werewolf Tale in one house. See what kinds of mayhem occurs.

#2 - I have yet to decide on who to commission for Werewolf Tale II's cover, but I can and would like to show off what a prospective title would look like. Watch for a submission of that nature soon.

My current editor of the first Werewolf Tale, Sean Gerace of Anthro Aquatic, recently got back in touch after what sounds like a several month flood of work and deadlines. As such, I'm resuming work on polishing Werewolf Tale.

The AMA I spoke about last time will still come, likely once we get about halfway through the story, or sooner. I'll have an announcement as it approaches.

#2 - This one's for the gamers who watch me. One of my favorite RPGs, one that I always turn to for a good story and one among several that made an influence on my prose style, is now on GOG.com after so many years: Fallout: New Vegas. (Fallout 3's there too, but as a member of NMA, I'm not as interested.)

#3 - Lastly, as Werewolf Tale gets closer to release, or as Sean and I get closer to starting the next editing phase, I'll be looking into doing a Let's Play/AMA for New Vegas/Werewolf Tale. When a date is decided, I'll add an upload for it.

As of yesterday, Werewolf Tale has been submitted for its second copy-edit. As I mentioned before, I will be using the time preceding getting the draft back to do a few things regarding the novel. One of which is part of this submission/announcement.

While I’m waiting for the edited draft and preparing for a third copy-edit or the final proofread, I am going to be holding a Beta Reading for Werewolf Tale. What this means is I am opening the floor to all interested in offering their thoughts and suggestions on the story as it is now.

I will provide a full copy of the current draft and a questionnaire to fill out to anyone who chooses to do this. Leave a comment or Note/PM me and I will link you to the files and provide an e-mail address to send the completed document to. Be sure to answer every question as fully as possible, and contact me if something is confusing.

Be advised also that I would like to mention the people who help me here by a real name in the Acknowledgments portion of the novel versus User IDs. If you do not wish to be named, let me know and I will respect your request.

This Beta Read will run until I am ready for the final proofread to be done, which I will announce. When that time arrives, I will be finalizing things, so no changes outside of minor ones will be made.

I'm pleased to announce that Werewolf Tale now has a Twitter account. (Still have reservations about Facebook's trustworthiness.)

The Twitter account handle is werewolftale. I'll be using it and my AgentBJ09 Twitter to help spread the word about the novel, and maybe do some giveaways of stuff. (No ideas of what yet.)

The initial copy-edit is coming along well. I'm almost done with Chapter 10, the transformation scene from Chapter 9 has been touched up, and I've made quite a few changes from the draft posted here.

An updated copy of the novel in PDF and the three e-reader formats will be posted later tonight. I'm experimenting with fonts for the titles of the chapters and other things, but they won't be in this updated sample.

Lastly, I have a second copy-edit date coming up. July 20th. It may take a month after that for the final edits and proofreading to be done, but I will be making sample copies of the book after I finish with this draft to ensure Lulu prints the book the way I want. I may give these away as ARCs (Advanced Review Copies), but it depends.

Since my copy-edited draft should be back in my hands within a week or so, I have some updates for what's coming.

- The revisions for the copy-edited draft may take me a month or so to complete, depending on how many mistakes in continuity are pointed out and how much of the draft that I feel needs reworking once more. (I'm predicting 25% needs an overhaul or general fixes.) Once that's done, I'll be sending it back to my copy-editor for a second touch-up edit to fix any typos/grammar faults that may get past me.

- To help promote the book before, during or after launch, depending on circumstances leading up to May 30 - June 6th, I'll be using the A-KON 25 anime convention in Dallas as an early advertising location. If you're going to the con, let me know.

- When the book launches, I'll have physical copies available through Lulu.com and Amazon.com. E-books will be set up for Amazon Kindle and the Barnes and Noble Nook service; Apple's iBooks is harder to get into for a first-timer but Lulu just added the option to their distro locations, so that may be changing. The e-books will be DRM-free where I can offer it, so this should smooth over any reader transitions.

- Expect a chapter or two of Werewolf Tale 2 to be posted here soon.

As the official publication date comes closer, I'll keep you all informed. Until next time.
