Correcting a seemingly old recording of a niche show

I was just watching a show here called QI - originally about interesting facts and trivia, it has now become about luring the celebrity guests into saying an expected thing, just to blow a horn at them and laugh hysterically.
One of the annoying things that happens is they set up a question and don't technically answer it. In this recording I was just watching (I believe somewhere in the 'p' series, as it was about 'phenomena' and such), they did this multiple times, as usual, but the last one got to me more than usual.
The question was 'What is the German term for experience of encountering your perfect double?' - At this point I should warn anyone that speaks German natively that I am about to pick apart this question and the use of the German language, but am not natively a German speaker: I am British, but learnt German in secondary school. So, if I am wrong, I apologize in advance, and please let me know.
So, what they meant to talk about via this question is that 'Doppelgänger' isn't technically the word: that means a meal where two courses are brought to the table at the same time. The word that was originally used for this was 'Doppeltgänger', with a t.
However. That is, to my knowledge, the word for 'the perfect double'. What they asked was about the term for *encountering* the perfect double.
To this end, I started trying to work this out: obviously, I'm using the 'corrected' version of the word (though even then they might have been talking out of their behinds on that show, so who knows), but what you need is Doppeltgänger followed by the noun for an encounter (though originally I thought you would need the verb for to encounter and put ung on the end). I couldn't remember that off the top of my head so I looked it up in a German-English dictionary (online: Collins), and apparently the term I wanted was 'Begegnung' (ironically, both the actual noun and just the verb with the suffix ung) - so *technically*, to correct the show that has become about correcting common knowledge with a huge klaxon, the term for an encounter with your perfect double could/should, according to a previous student of the German language, be 'Doppeltgängersbegegnung', or something to that effect. You could also use experience in place of encounter, to make it 'Doppeltgängerserfahrung', though when looking up 'encounter' that dictionary translated a 'sexual encounter' as 'sexuelle Erfahrung', so maybe 'Doppeltgängerserfahrung' is a trifle too horny.
