Loving that, on my YouTube homepage, two of the videos suggested to me under 'Covid-19 news', literally next to one another, are 'UK Covid-19: Anti-lockdown and vaccine protesters march through London' (Daily Mail) and 'Indian Covid crisis: hospitals buckle under record surge' (BBC News)
The irony of seeing the relatively well-off, privileged white people here in the UK ignoring that we're easing lockdown now and saying 'I dOnT nEeD a VaCcInE' (and yes, the crowd does look at least 99% white), next to a story of one of the largest countries in the world struggling to contain the pandemic; it's just testament to how little people consider other people's struggles, how quickly we forget the past, how selfish and individualistic our UK society is.
To those protesting lockdown and vaccines: shut up, go home, put a mask on, and get your damn vaccine. It's not even that bad now: you can go to the pub outside, you can go shopping, you can get your hair and nails done, you can meet in parks and outdoors areas, you can still get your coffees and takeaways and everything. Elsewhere, people are struggling with the vaccine so much there isn't even room for people in hospitals that need ventilators to breathe. Get your head straight. Knock it off - you're embarrassing us (not that we needed help lol)
