While I can’t speak to other factors, don’t quit on account of age!

I have to agree with Derecho. Age is not a reason to stop costuming. Look at yours truly. I still look forward to going out in suit. I'm looking to replace Altaica's mask, but she is still good to go. LK needs his mask fixed, but he is still available.

Remember this lion does a 2-mile parade in Ocean City, NJ around the 5th of April for their Doo-Dah parade. I did it last year at 61 years of age. This year's parade didn't happen for obvious reasons.

Think hard on this decision. Put the items in storage for a while and see if you don't get the urge to do something with them. Once you sell them it would be very hard to get them back.

As previously mentioned Definitely consider holding off and seriously thinking the decision. But if you do consider selling I would be willing to work out a deal, just in case things did change.

I would agree with everyone else, don't hang up the suit(s) because you are getting older. As long as you have the passion, there is no point in not keeping with it. Been in the same spot for years with the same problems of not going to conventions, money, or just the time. But I am still alive, so will have to find a way to keep on living somehow.

Don't burn any bridges, but--can objects like that be auctioned off through FA? I see notices all the time for art auctions.

age never applies to costuming, no one is too old, and your costume is awesome, plus you don't always have to go to a convention to cosplay :3

It occurs to me that you could just go to the con(s) which are close enough for a day trip. That's what my hubby and I do. It's a long day trip, mind you, and getting changed in a hotel rest room sucks, but our only real expense is the one-day admission. Since we don't go in for parties, we've found that four hours is about all one needs to "see everything" at even Anthrocon.
