Last Hope
Years ago humanity was at the breaking point and our population was just too vast for Earth to sustain any more so we started to colonize our solar system, some planets took longer than others to get up and running but in the end we took every planet from Mercury to Neptune and even Pluto was colonized and humanity was given some breathing room but this only lasted a few decades and the human population continues to grow out of control like a wild fire even with the death penalty brought back and set for even summery convictions and all severe crimes our population continues to grow and now once more we are at the breaking point riots and extreme violence are breaking out every day across every planet and the United system Defence Force is hard pressed to keep the order no matter how many body bags we are forced to fill humanity’s last hope is to look to the stars once more and colonize new systems and worlds. The USDF’s answer to our growing population is the Deep Space Exploration Carriers. Each DSEC is the size of old world North America and is crewed by seven billion personal consisting of both civilian colonist and USDF personal but the vast majority of them are in hyper sleep freezers leaving only one million awake for a ten year cycle , the ships took years to build but the hope is that they will be humanity’s saving grace when they departed the core system, of the one hundred that launched thirty were destroyed by asteroids and imploding stars, ten were consumed by black holes, twenty were struck by plagues and became ghost ships, twenty-five are just straight missing, ten colonized new systems and five are still searching have yet to find a new planet to call home. One of the five DSEC that is still searching is the USDF Deep Space Vessel Destiny this DSEC is unique because out of the one hundred that were sent it is the soul vessel to be crewed by only USDF personal it is a military only vessel that was sent out with a different propose then colonization. The Destiny’s true propose is war, to send out smaller military carriers and seek out any advance life and attack to provoke a galactic war with earth and to bring about the elimination of a large amount of the human population of the core system.
