Demo Level complete
Good news everyone! The Demo-level is complete.
You can play-test it right now.

This is a short little excursion to tease what to expect from chapter 2 where I've managed to experiment and test some concepts.
I would greatly appreciate your feedback.
There are still some parts of it I'm shaky about that will probably see some change in the final release.
The Officer stats being one of them for example. They are slightly nebulous in their current state.
Save system update
I have with some advice from
SpottedSqueak managed to make progress on a Save system Aweworld with the help of cookies that seems to work!
I shall be working on implementing it and release it for Chapter 1, probably along with Chapter 2 simultaneously. So you can work your way through the growing story of Aweworld in peace.
Awe design competition
As you might have noticed, I've also submitted some reference guides for Awes. Its been asked for here and there and I've always wanted to provide.
In short I'm planning to hold a slow-burn Awe-design competition. I'll be looking for Fur-pattern submissions to possibly adopt as canon. But those who dare go the full length and design a Awe character might find their submission adopted into a Character that joins the story in chapter 2 with their own portrait and all.
Ha, you've probably seen through me by now, I'm clearly outsourcing design work in the guise of a competition. Perhaps that's somewhat true, but this is something that everyone will be able to join, as long as you can convey your designs. Its not some full-fledged Art competition.
I'll be posting a separate journal on this later once I've gathered my thoughts on it. What are your thoughts on it? Should there be further incentive rewards? Am I lazy?

FA+

And the fur pattern design competition seems like a fun little thing! I might have to give it a shot, it could be a fun excersize.
I enjoyed the demo, it's written well and has many choices that actually prompt you to think about what's best for the situation you're in.
If I really have to criticize something, I would have liked more different outcomes about which officer to send to scout the island first. No choice seems to be wrong in this regard.
I loved the prisoner scene but I'm a sucker for teasing so it doesn't surprise me
You explained your reasoning so I don't see anything wrong about this contest, contributors will be able to see their own creation featured in the game, I think it's a nice thing.
It's nice to see how your choices pan out, but it seems like a few of them don't really do anything, like salvaging the ship and/or burning it. I'm assuming that those ones are gonna factor in to the full version.
But otherwise, yeah, I'm excited to see the full version.
Also, I ran into a bug during my first playthrough. When you make your choice on who to send out to search the island, there appears to be a chance that the pop-up text that appears when you hover your cursor over the icons can stick around on the next page. This happened to me, and it blocked out a large amount of text on the last paragraph.
I'm real glad you've been able to get more done on this, though. Love the whole thing. x3 I've told you as much, but yeah.
Tempted with this Awe-creation thing. But I'm not sure I'd ever get anything done. x3
Yes, apparently some changes I made when working on the demolevel affected this page. Its the only page where a cadet can go into a "disabled" state ("Ziggy looks busy") and i had not taken that into account in my minor experimenting on other things.
I should start writing on this project again.
It is quite enjoyable. I like this style of choose your own adventure.
I'm sorry I've not been keeping everyone up to date.
Expected release date is yet far away. I work on it when i can, but irl work has been bogging me down.
Best case scenario is that i have it done at the end of summer.
But I might have interesting interim stuff between them.
