Well, Techie, I'm up for chatting with you on IRC about it. The communication is much more interactive, but I guess I'll just leave this here for you. I don't know what I can say to help, but I'll try. No-one I know in real life knows I'm a furry. And I don't want to tell my dad, because I don't think he'd be too open-minded towards it. But my advice is this: Don't explain it as an identity, say,

"I have an interest in _______________. and take it from there. Don't be all dramatic about it and be like "I'M A FURRY! YAH! AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME FROM BEING ONE! NYAHHHHH!"

Just expalin it as something you're interested in, and say that other people with this interest call themselves furries. Simple enough. But go easy on it. Good luck.

Well one tip I can give you is not to show that much of fursuiting in the beginning. It's what makes my mom think we're an evil sect. Just tell him it's in interest first etc. and that you want to meet other people with that common interest. Don't tell to much, just the basics.
