Art & Prejudice

Goodmorning sunshines!
So I've been recently drawing some cub themed artworks and actually, as you probably know already, I've been drawing them since a while by now. Fact is, for not better known circumstances or motivations, in the past month I got so many rude messages about it. Most of times they are just gibberish, and sometimes they really are offensive. For the sake of many, I decided to write down here a quick prompt answers list, for you to use in every occurring occasion!
1) OMG you are drawing cub???!?!1! That's so sick!
→ Thank you for redeeming my poor unfortunate soul, anonymous stranger from the internet! Now I'll get back to draw huge dicks on anthro animals!
2) Why you are drawing cub? That's disgusting and I don't like it!
→ Thank you for sharing your worthy opinion! Unfortunately, you're not the Emperor of the Worlds. You don't like it? You look away. It is just that easy!
3) fuck i didnt know you were a pedo
→ Well, try learning some grammar and educating yourself instead of writing this stupid comments! 💖
I hope those helped you out, in case you found yourself in the same situation!
Which got me into some reasoning about Art in relation to certain topics, or certain kinks to be more specific... Basically, I believe, just because somebody is drawing something in a sensual situation doesn't mean that person is willing to be harmful to others. Calling "pedo" someone drawing cubs is like calling "cannibal murderer" someone who draws vore, or "rapist" someone who draws hypnosis related stuff, or generically calling "zoophile" pretty much everyone drawing furry NSFW artworks. That is just not the case! so please, let's get all past this and try be respectful of eachother and chill in this colorful community. Everyone likes different things: maybe you don't like my raisin cookies, but somebody wanted them and it took me the same effort and time and - almost - ingredients for my chocolate cookies, I just put raisin instead of chocolate because they wanted them with raisin... Got it?
Oh, and I'll gladly take your commissions via Inkbunny in case you wanted some raisin cookies. LOL!
✌️ Peace

ps. sorry ppl have been offensive towards you.
Sorry, learning philosophy makes me think of things in very sensible terms.
I know this is one of the biggest misconceptions
in the furry community.
Don't take this too personal.
Your art is great and I love your 'normal' and 'unusual' stuff equally.
*hugs*
You'd think that in a community revolving around fictional non-existing cartoon animals, people would have a better grasp to differentiate between fantasy and reality. But then again, it's easy to point fingers and put oneself on a pedestal of moral high ground because "I might be a degenerate who gets off to fetish X, but at least I'm not into this."
That being said, your cub art is just as nice to look at as the rest of your gallery. I enjoy it just as much, because you put a lot of thought and work into your pictures. I am glad to see, that you don't let yourself get dragged down by these people and that you can be so casual about it in this journal. It's not easy to withstand something like unfounded hate, because people are so easy to lash out at anything they don't agree with.
All power to you and keep doing what you're doing. You're an awesome artist and one of my favorites.
I draw cub too
Its funny how people think its purely what they want, thinking if they dont like it, you should provide what they like.
I had one person in my stream say they dont like cub and i plain out said, dont look at my work then. They think we care in the world
in their opinion. We draw what we want to draw and will keep drawing it.
Its just funny as fuck. They judge but really its fiction and these arent real people in the drawings.
Abusing someone sexually, whatever their age and sex, or using your position of authority to abuse a minor, is and will always be a bad thing in real life.
This does not prevent one to let their imagination run as they please. However, I am of a "In Rome, do like Romans" mentality, and respect the choice of art site owners to not have this kind of content in their galleries.
I'm not debating about Furaffinity's policy about Cubs because I can understand it and it's no big fuss, it was just pointing out a behaviour I'd like to fight more actively :)
And obviously, disagreeing about something, as relatable as the topic may be, does not give you the right to be an ass about it, or jumping to personal attacks and reductios ad hitlerum, so you have my support on this.
Really someone wrote those bads things to you?! lol, if you draw cub stuffs doesen't mean that you are a pedo!!!
Guys, this is ART/DRAWINGS, not the real life! if you think that Rov is a pedo for have drawing cubs, thats means that here there are a lot of guys that are cannibals (vore), guys who eat shit and drink piss (scat) and guys who kill the partner during the sex act, amputating pieces of meat (gore)!
SO, before speaking, think about what you are saying before insulting someone heavily! -.-"
It's like if someone walks in a bakery and, after looking at all the kinds of pies, breads and cookies, he says to the baker: "Ohhh man, I think your garlic bread is shit!". What would the baker do?
Also the best part of about this is you have to be following someone for works to be shoved in your face and if offended... a simple unfollow will do. ;)
But it's weird to read how this guys crying of cub drawnings while theye are fapping out to a pic where two antro wolf have sex with each other. This is rather controversial
So in their opinion TheVale is a mobster because he drawning a mobster comic, Rukis is a whore because of the Red Lantern comics, Anti-Dev is incestuous because of Brogulls and etc......! That is the same superficial condemnation when someone says" if u are watching anime then you are a geek" or " if u are like rock music then you are an emo" or my favorite " if u are gay then u are sick af" !
Dont listen to them Rov, they are not worth it!
I know that the Cub theme is a taboo subject (and personally, having two nephews, I understand very well that there must be restrictions and prohibitions).
Lately I have been exploring several fetishes in my drawings that, although they are not mine, generate some interest into a certain target into the furry fandom.
I think that as long as the cub them as another taboo stuff remain on the imaginary plane, you can work with them.
This type of people who harrass you for drawing these types of fetishes should look in a mirror and realize that they are not quite a jewlery box.
It just shows how today society is getting more and more childish.
Pretty much to add souless in the mix.
So unfortunately because you have such a vast following; you have a responsibility to your watchers, (your fault you allowed that following to form) to only do those things you always have instead of changing to a different kind of subject, et al.
(((I look away and don't fave the artwork))).
My suggestion (and perhaps a solution), create a new identity with all the miraculously amazing coincidence of it looking exactly like the abilities of Rov; in a different account on FA, etc. to draw cub-art.
I in relation don't have a huge following, in my gallery i offered proof to church goers of the legitimacy of alternate lifestyles in their own Bible. And I have also shown by using the Koran itself how Islam is actually a satanic religion of death and war.
I also never draw cub-art porn, and nearly none of the really great and well known artists that are in a better category of art than I can accomplish with my outdated and under-powered software watch me back.
=
Note: ((I've used really great computers with really great software on really incredible drawing tablets to prove to myself that I am in the same category as the rest of you good artists)) but I don't have $16,000 dollars to spend on those better devices, and software)),
-
So I muddle along with less that efficient tiny and super old software that I was able to afford because it isn't on my better computer ($2,400 dollars down the drain) that died recently, leaving me with a lackluster crappy computer, (designed for Facebook and email and little else) and 1996 software.
Your art, whether it be the stuff you post here or the stuff on Inkbunny, is great and don't let anyone tell you differently! :3
It's a similar thing when someone draws anime characters that look really young, but their actual age is way over 18 or its unknown, people just assume they're 10 because they look like they're 10 which is just funny to me. Plus as many others have stated on this journal already, Art doesn't equal Reality,Art is just fiction and you should be free to do whatever you want in it because thats the point, the only limit is supposed to be your imagination. So yeah don't listen to all them haters,I love all your art equally, whether its a bit on the kinky side or not ^^
There is the argument that legit pedophiles will use such works to groom some kid but that argument falls flat given porn of adults is also largely used to groom them as well as mere words. A pedophile intent on acting out on their urges is going to work to make it happen regardless and there are so many options to groom someone that lashing out at cub porn is pointless. In all actuality I'd prefer a pedophile to resort to viewing the artwork as an outlet for their urges as opposed to going out and victimizing some kid. So if anything your work could be sating some pedo out there and keeping them from acting out but folks opposed to this type of work to the point being rabid about it only see the bad, never the good.
But... at the end of the day you are drawing pictures rooted in fiction just like depictions of murder, rape, torture, etc in our movies, comics, stories and video games.
The other argument is that same exposure makes real life offending more likely, as it normalises attraction to underage people in the viewers mind. So there's no conclusive evidence either way and so personally, I prefer to err on the side of caution and believe that exposure to even fictional underage stuff is harmful and makes real life abuse more likely.
it's just... InkBunny is the place i'd do the cub stuff. Not here. it's just how it is. it's just artwork. you need the right audience.
don't fight it.
Your handle of that situation was absolutely horrible and prejudiced on its own merit.
Cannot say I sympathize but thats opinion and maybe a bit of bias.
It's true though, it happened to me to refuse commissions because of the characters species or design: that's totally based on what I feel like drawing on the moment, and I believe if I had to draw something I'm not happy about the final result wouldn't be as good as a regular commission.
I guess your comment is filled with resentement for a past matter, which I'm sorry and I apologize, but this journal was pointing out another problem: shaming people because of nonsense reasoning about art being directly connected to someone's sexual or private life
Hint hint: It was a nice shower head
But on the subject of drawing cub-dont care. People can draw whatever they like. Big believer in 'dont like it? dont look at it.' Thats going to be something you are going to be putting up with as long as it is around im afraid. People are just always going to be looking for way to spread hate online. Most of them will be soyboys and social justice warriors who shield their eyes more than a toddler obsessed with peekaboo.
