The media and above all the ones who hold the copyright just want to make the "pirates" look like they are criminals.

They are not. In fact it s a civil rights problem... and that is not a criminal thing, lol

Nevertheless I do not really see a problem in this case. There are so many.... famous characters out there as cosplay... this small thing would not matter I think. As long as you do not make money with it or say "this is MY work, I created it" there is no problem ^^

As long as you make it yourself, it's fair game to do. The only problem tends to rise from if you make money off it, like paying someone else to make it. That's what I hear all the time when I've brought up wanting a Raichu fursuit made. Most makers won't touch copyright characters due to fear of the law coming down on them for selling it.

SHIT. ok but what if it's an icejin fancharacter, and not Frieza himself? Couldn't you be like "it's a PARODY therefore I can pay someone else to make a fursuit for me bc i can't make fursuits"

It's possible, but that may still be up to the discretion of the maker anyway. I know fursuits exist of copyrighted characters, it's just a matter of finding someone who doesn't care if they make it. And many times the owner of the character in question may not say anything about it, so you may have luck.
