First convention of the year in Belfast, and I was so happy that I was able to get the weekend off work to attend both days. I got some really awesome purple and green slippers from a store online a week or two before the con, and they can sort of pass as feet paws, so I wore them. Not only were they really comfy to walk around in, they went really well with Fester's colours, so I think they did a good job of cheap stand-in feet paws until I have enough for proper ones.
Bearing in mind that it was a very warm weekend with a slight bit of rain on the first day, I wore a pink onesie on the Saturday which was light enough to sort of pass as a body? But then I wore a loose pair of jeans, a jacket, and my shirt from *Nomad Complex. Then with my slippers along with that, it was a pretty okay look for a partial, or at least I think so lol
I was able to meet a few other furries, which was an amazing experience for me, I've never met so many other furries in person before, and they had amazing suits, I really loved it. Then there were a lot of pictures taken, mostly with kids being shoved in my direction by their parents (never gets old), but there were some awesome cosplayers as well that I got my photo taken with.
Sunday was a little cooler, but being an idiot, I wore my Raichu onesie with a Frankenstein shirt I'd bought the day before at the con and a pair of shorts underneath, and I was still pretty warm. As much as I love my Pokemon onesie, wearing it with Fester's head makes me really miss his tail. The same furries were there, although some were in suit now and took me a second to recognise them, but then it was all good and we got our pictures taken together. I also entered the costume contest, just for a laugh, and because I like the attention. There, I said it, I love the attention when I'm in suit xD
So yeah, hopefully I'll be going to more conventions this year, but it will really depend on funds and if I can get the time off work. Currently, these are the cons I plan on going to:
- Q-Con (16th-18th June)
- MCM Northern Ireland (24th-25th June)
- Belfast Film and Comic Con (TBC)
- Dublin Comic Con (12th-13th August)
I'd like to try to get to MCM Ireland, but it's at the very beginning of July (1st-2nd), so the weekend after MCM NI, which might be a little tight on the budget, but I can dream, right?
