McJigglemeats here, with an announcement to some important changes to the chat rules of the NM Furs Telegram group

After some discussion, the admins of the chat have decided that you must be 13 or older in to to participate in this group. This is due to open-ended nature of federal laws in regards to children aged 12 and under and their participation in "online services" (which includes things like chat rooms).

The other new rule is that you must be 18 or older to create or host an event that you intend to share with the local group. People under the age of 18 are still welcome to participate! We request that you have your parent or guardian's permission to attend any events (or even bring them with you). Meets and events are usually public and open to all ages - if we were to announce an adults-only event, it will be made clear.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however we feel it is in the community's best interest to minimize legal liabilities.

As a reminder, the other rules of the chat are "No posting cub, zoo, or adult (18+) content", and "Please warn before posting flashing gifs". This is a chat with several active participants under the age of 18, and flashing gifs can be a health hazard to people with certain medical conditions.
