Your music is great. Even without that fact, just the ability to comprehend what you're doing enough to MAKE it would be achievement in itself.

I know this just sounds really clichéd at this point, but you've really just got to believe in your work and show your pride. Instead of thinking "I can do better.." think "This is mine. I made this and I own it." You make music! Proper flowing, well-done music.

I just feel so rushed when i do that though. You know what I mean? Sometimes im like HELL YEAH I MADE IT and I rush and push it out, but then its like...I feel so unproffessional for not mixong or mastering it and taking my time to get it the way I heard it in my head ;3;

You can have pride in your work and take your time still. I draw traditionally, even if I'm still not very good at it yet, but you know, instead of being like most artists saying "This could be better..." I instead say "Hey, this is pretty damn good, and I enjoyed drawing that."

You just gotta keep trying! I know motivation is a terribly fickle thing, and I know it can be devastating when you start telling yourself it's too much, or you're not good enough, or so many other demoralizing things.

Writing for piano is something I've been trying to improve on lately as well! If you aren't sure, I think it'd be good for you to listen to some piano compositions and try to work out what they have that your own are lacking. Try to work only with piano for a few test tracks, and just see what's there and what isn't. I think that'll make it much clearer and easier for you to work with, and I hope it helps. :)

In any case, keep at it. You're doing wonderfully already, and you have a lot to be proud of, so keep your head up and push on. <3

Let me level with you for a minute here. When I first started actually making music for this fandom I still was a basic amateur but after my first album I felt pretty confident of myself that I can do this. I've been doing music for the past 7 years of my life and I still don't get how come some of the shit on dubstep works. How my 'Furries Of America' track got famous was no sort of a miracle. I'm still just like you and I'm on my 3rd studio album. The best thing is is too ask people for help not just do this on your own if you don't get it or you feel like you can't do it then collab with a person who can do it. I know you want to learn and I've taught people before so if you ever need any lesson on how the basis of the piano or guitar works come ask my I would be glad to help you.

I suppose Im happy with the style i write my music in but maybe its just the fact I just cant seem to build proper instrumentals. I suppose thats what you mean by listening and sort of disecting music, and I do that but...Idk sometimes Ill find the perfect chord but I cant find a good bass to go with it. And when the chorus hits I dont know how to change it up right, and I hear a lot of peoples music where the chorus will hit and they have a conpletely new bass/chord progression and I can barely write one that works good. Thats the sort of thing I run into a lot, im happy with one thing but i have no idea how to write the song around it, and I feel like its because I havent studied music theory.

I barely even know music theory and I'm doing pretty well so far. Believe me, the best way to learn if you don't wanna do things "formally" (like deciding to learn a specific instrument) is to experiment. Put those things in your music even though you might not be good at them yet. Over time, you'll come to a certain understanding of them, and it will be good for you.

Hans Zimmer doesn't know music theory either, so :P

Maybe thats why I have so many failed projects though is that I dothat and realize its still nothing like how i want it to be (my piano for instance) and I dont do anything else with it and move on to a new project to hopefully do better. And I never finish anything

Ah, I see. When I was learning, I thought I was doing good (when I really wasn't yet), so I didn't really have that problem too much xD

But yeah... My advice is to make yourself finish things. Upload them. And be patient with your music. Don't worry if it doesn't sound perfect... As you make more music, you will get better and better. If you want to make something that goes far, it's gonna take a little while. But if you can consistently let yourself continue to experiment with new music and new instruments, it shouldn't take long.
