If you said no refunds and the person already paid you, it's too bad to that person if he changes his mind. Your friend is right, the rules have been said and it's not your fault if he demands a refund. It's good that you try to be nice, but sometimes you just need to remain firm as well.

The fact is, if i ignore this person request, or asking for changing in first update art , it totally my fault. But in this case, i already update the line art on this person, and this person didn't ask about changing or saying anything that i do it wrong way. So i assume it there no problem and i just proceed. And now, the art is almost complete, suddenly saying i'm doing wrong on body type and i did mention on YCH rule that you will get exactly on the design and cannot change it. Thats include body type. This because you agree to buy that design , your character will be like that. Thats how YCH is.

Then , this person lecture me about YCH thing, seriously? i have many friend that already made YCH before , before i begins, i will ask them some advice. Even there is YCH i had made, i will giving to those winner another 1 extra art as gift.

The worst part , this person blaming my rules and keep saying my YCH just a false advertisement , the rules already told everything, even i did wrote "I hope everything is clear, if not, you can ask me on note" on the description. This person didn't . Keep blaming me and my rules. Then, this person not satisfied my statement, wanna had refund, even i did make option to redesign it but need to wait all other 7 YCH finish (which will be before December. This person already insult me

Sorry that he insulted you. You deserve better than this. But keep in mind that this is his problem, not yours. You did your part.

I would say let it pass for this one time and in the future, you could make sure that people had read and accept the rules presented, I would suggest you to put the rules first in your YCH description, so the confusion canbe reduced, I feel a bit bad about it, since it happened to me as well :/.

Nahh, you don't need to feel bad, your were right, i need to put those rule at first description , in your case, that was fine, everything can be discuss nicely, this person....man...i could not describe it how awful i feel

I see, so the other winner reacted badly to the rules you put for it then, well, I guess that in a very extreme case, if insults were done, you could report the user, they don't have the right to treat you badly, even if they don't necessarily agree with the rules, since those were written there, there are many different ways to handle such problems, but acting and insulting an artist is not the right way to do it, at least that's my opinion.

you see, in this case, i did what i did, even i did giving the first update to that person. That person saying nice , the i assume nothing problem and proceed. In first , he giving me a reference of fat character and saying my design was suite. Today, the YCH already almost finish, then this person saying i did wrong. this person giving me another reference that this person want me to remake everything. Technicailly that ref is a new art that the person release today. I already explain to that person that rules already mention cannot change the design at all. oh well,,.... even i already snapshot everything this person did as proof i'm innocent

Did they try to have the body type changed after you had already sent WIPs? If they approved the sketch and inks, and then wanted something changed on the art itself after that, tell them they already approved what you did and you can't go back on it. Also, YCHs generally don't get revisions unless it's something fairly easy to fix or a humungous goof on the artist's part. Sounds like the commissioner didn't really know what they were getting into, and if they're going to be abusive toward you anyway, you don't need their business.

Actually yes, as i said. At first art update, i show to that person a line art, which is completely be line. So, that person didn't say anything, only say nice. So i assumed that person agree.

Yeah, then block them and move on. You're clearly in the right and smart people are going to see that you did everything you could. Don't worry, we're on your side. :)

One question. Were the rules completely open and shut? Did you make sure they were worded to not be misunderstood?

Mind you I'm looking at this from a neutral standpoint. So I'm neither with you or against you on this. But if you weren't specific enough with your rules then the commissioner has full right to call foul because you weren't being specific.

Also, did they provide reference? If they did and if you didn't match the same body type or hairstyle then that also reflects poorly on you. If you did match the body type and not the hair type then I doubt things would have gotten so bad.

Ok lets me explain, my rules already explain everything. Even there is some people before claim it will ask me explanation about the rules. There is a reason why the rules were made, first about the price is much lower than the original price , second is they will get a quality art even in low price. So, mostly people will ask me about the rule since the description already said "Hope my explanation clear, can ask me about it on note". When people win the YCH, they sent me a ref and mostly they will add extra description and ask me whether its against or not.Some of them did against the rule and i said reject or they apologize , so the YCH will be reset. That's is first stage. Back to the case, this person is agree in first place , not even ask me or request anything, just saying something like "already found a body that been looking for " and i have a proof on that.

So, this person already provide the ref, which is fat character (date 4 november this person won the YCH). I try search on that person gallery, but none have lean body type. SO, basically i will update a "lineart" to all my client. Which is in this stage, the client can complain and make a change some error if not same as ref or description. Mostly i fix everything. Back to the case, this person were agree and say nice work. So i assume that person agree and continue my work.

BUT in final stage, which the art is almost done, I will update final update which is cannot change at all. Back to the case, i sending the update on the date 10 november. This person said i doing wrong way and this want me to do exactly in "new ref" that that person update on 9 November which completely different including hair style. I didn't ask that person why didn't told me in first update? This person already agree everything at first and suddenly saying it wrong. Then blaming my rules.

All of this, i already snapshot the proof. The evident and ref date. All the note that already agree in first place, everything is been snapshot for proof. SO, this person not only against the rules, this person also insult me.

You clearly stated that the ref was a fat character, and yet you look for the gallery for a lean body type? That's clearly going against the reference that was sent to you and you're making it sound like you're going to draw a different character because the body type wasn't the same as the ych.

You misunderstood about this, the new ref this person giving to me, is not a fat. The fact i saying about this person gallery is, this person had never had that kind of lean body art before.

Well, technically my rules already state on YCH description says that You only get exactly from the design and cannot adding anything or changing the body type [for example like accessory , armour , put a shirt (if the design wearing an underwear only)] , but there is special case accessory that "attach to the flesh" can be add to this design, for example ear ring or anything as long it didn't change the design (you can ask me anything about this)

Beside i didn't contradicted my self. I have strong proof.

Lets me explain the timeline, so you can see the situation.

on 4 November 2016, the person w.ns and sent me the fat character as reference. Which that person "don't want fat". Get it? The original YCH was in sketch. A few hour later, i did finish "line art" and sent to that person. so this person reply that this person like it and no complain. All of this i already snapshot include the time.

8 November 2016, This person ask me an update, so i giving the update. Still no had problem.


10 November . i sending a final update which already color and softshaded. Then this person saying i'm doing wrong and suddently giving me "new ref" which that ref are not fat, but lean and muscular and also hair style. Which when i check the date of the new ref upload was "9 November 2016". After that i checking all that person gallery, there is no that kind of art of that type of body at all. Even the rules already state. i can't refund, but i did refund it full payment.

You see, i'm not against the ref, even most my client remind me what have missing every time i sending the update and after that i fix it. In this case, kinda last minute to change whole thing from beginning.
