Well.. if they contacted you first, good chance they're on FA and watching you. If you have the time to do it. Might find them by checking the contact info of the people who currently have you on watch.

NP.. figured the idea would be worth a shot, just gonna be a pain since you have as many people watching you as there are watching me, big list to go through and hopefully it doesn't grind on ya to bad if ya try to sift through all the contacts.

I couldn't care less about user-icons.
It's the false accrediting like "It took me [*insert time span between 6 months and 10 years*] to draw that icon alone, so don't expect art from me on that fine level because that icon was hard work and I'm still exhausted from it" which annoys me.

Running a search on that Yahoo name, I find 2 websites, both forums. Alongside the Yahoo identity, they have their AIM name set as Charisma Lipton.

On another furry forum I go to, that same AIM name was linked to an account "Zarla" where the person was trying to claim themself as being the real Zarla Wolf. Little did they know that the same person added my MSN name to their list.

Sometime later, the same person jumped on their MSN and tried to claim themself as being EmoWolf and even put up a website JUST FOR ME to try and prove that they were.

The only thing that I can say is to put out an advisory saying that said person is NOT associated with you and does not own your art.

I'm sorry that someone like this would even bother to do such a thing.

Listed as Charisma Lipton? Well, I know THAT name was stolen, as said name belongs to a character made by Amanda Payne, who likely would be muchly upset to hear about that...

Sad and funny, yes, but only infuriating when you've had to deal with them for a few months.

Basically, if you ever got into a RP with them, every 2-3 minutes, you'd get "Can we try this?" or something that puts your characters closer together. Your character is just thrown in his story as he sees fit.

Also, he likes to claim that the accounts are his sister's names and he's only using them because he can't get his own. >_>

lol, i think it's funny when other's try and say they are someone Xd, i got accused of ripping off a doug winger picture once, was very annoying, but i know the feeling of having your art used without perm, i'll keep an eye out as i think i saw someone using Furball's art as a person this girl made on Furcadia, if i come across this Dev with any of your stuff i'll tell you, then ask the offender to remove the the art, unless you say otherwise

How pathetic do you have to be in order to steal other people's art anyway? Even if it's just an icon, it still shows how inadequate you are that you have to lie and steal in order to feel accomplished.

I'm very paranoid about this sort of thing, even though my art is nothing special and it's not likely to happen to me. If I were as good as you, I'd probably have a nervous breakdown XD

I'm not even an artist per say, and I hate art thieves. If I worked my rear off for something, and someone uses it without my permission, then they're assholes. Then again, something as simple as a display image isn't too bad, unless they start claiming that it's theirs. Heck, my user image on here, the sniper kitty, is something I found on some website long ago, but I don't try to say it's my pic. Same goes for the bunny pancake pic I use on yahoo, nobody would think I made that, it's a meme. But to block you when you ask them to change? That's just wrong. Even if it's not a big deal to most people, if it's important to you that they not use it, then that's it, end of story. If whoever made one of the pics that I use for my avatars asked me, sure, I'd change immediately. Idiots will be idiots, and nothing willl ever change that. Guess the only surefire way to beat them is to be famous enough on here that nobody would mistake your work for someone else's, and I'd say you'd have that already. I'd recognize the style you and Furball use instantly. And now that I've typed all that, I think I'll shut up now. o_O

well you should expect things like this in the first place because you uploaded you art to a site where the can get to it freely and didn't use and protection against your photos its called DRM. and yes it can be used on pics. almost any furry will use someone else's icon or pic on their messenger getting aggravated over it does nothing. and there is nothing to stop it now. just get over it and move on. also uploading art at high res like you do basically is giving them the things they need to make their own print of your art. thats another mistake you made. also i vote you and furball as the furry drama queens of fur affinity because your always in some big drama episode like this.

You aren't a drama queen. You're protected by copyright law through Prior Art, even if you didn't file for a copyright with the L.O.C. You did not give the said user permission to use or redistribute your artwork. I think you should try to go after the guy through the Admin of the website, or through whatever other means you may have. Try to address the issue, and keep documented records of your attempts to do so. This will provide a documented account of your contest against the individual's actions. As a professional author, I've had literary agents try to steal my work more than once, so I know the legalese of such actions. (I take no responsibility for the use of this information, by any legal standard.) If this user used the icon to identify themselves, and shows it to multiple individuals, that is classified as redistribution of your copyrighted material, and is against the law.

Mostly, I would only recommend that you keep a documented account of an attempt to resolve this issue mostly in case if he decides to reproduce the image in full. You'll want to have evidence if you ever need to go to court over these matters. If the picture is really valuable to you, and you think this individual may indeed further distribute your work, make a copy of your picture, sign and date it, and mail it to yourself via certified mail. When you get the material back, sign for it, but do not open it. The enclosed material can be admissable as evidence in court as Prior Art, and kinda cuts the corners of having to get a formal filed copyright. If the bastard is really slick, he can get around this, but there are other ways to deal with these pests if that happens.

Or we could just do this the old fashioned way, which I prefer. I'll go get a lynch mob rounded up=) Let me know if you have any more questions.
