General
Christopher lee, an icon of horror films and the cinematic embodiment of villainy , passed away.
he was 93 years old.
Lee died on Sunday morning, June 7.
his wife, former Danish model and painter Gitte Kroencke released the news at first to inform Christopher lee's family. lee and gitte had been married since 1961!
i mostly knew Christopher lee as two of the most iconic villians in two of the most famous saga's of all time.
his appearance in "the lord of the rings" as the clever and intimidating "Sauraman"
and his role in episode 2 and three and the clone wars of the famous sci-fi series, star wars, as the powerful and elegant count dooku.
yet he played in a good number of other movies, such as The Curse of Frankenstein , the mummy, and even played as Sherlock holmes.
also in honor of this great actor and a man.here are 7 facts you (probably) didn't know about Christopher lee.
____________________________________________________________________________
1. lee had more than 275 credits on IMDb, making him perhaps the most prolific feature-film actor in history.
2. He did many of his own stunts. even up until his final acts in the hobbit and episode 3 revenge of the sith. Christopher truly showed that even at an old age, an actor doesn't always need a stunt double to do the fun parts.
3. Christopher lee has had more sword fight scenes than any other actor.
4. During World War II, Lee served in the Royal Air Force and Special Forces and spent one year in a hellacious winter campaign in Finland. He was said to be a spy but never wanted to talk about it, honoring an oath of secrecy.
5. Christopher lee is the only member of the lord of the rings cast and the hobbit to actually met author J.R.R. Tolkien!
6. even though Christopher lee began his career playing horror movies he disliked being known as a “horror legend.”
7. Christopher lee was an expert golfer. He was the first actor to be accepted into The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers. How good was he? He thought he had enough cred to offer advice to Tiger Woods on how to play The Masters.
