I'm aware that some, even most of you don't care

The cop who killed Eric Garner, Daniel Pantaleo, wasn't indicted today.
I'm not mad, I'm just numb. This doesn't mean the feelings I had about a week ago aren't valid, oh they very much are. I still feel them. But that part has hardened considerably.

There was recently a group of police who claimed that by telling them they couldn't kill ANYONE at ANY TIME for ANY REASON.. even NO REASON AT ALL... was violating their rights under the Constitution. They actually attempted to file a lawsuit to gain this right, though it was shot down. Can you imagine what would happen if this case had won? Police would have a legal precedent to kill people at will with or without cause anytime they felt like it. And yet the people and the courts keep supporting their actions, illegal or not, saying "it was in the line of duty".
And then there's the home invasions. Raids on innocent people's homes in the dead of night for no reason, then when people are hurt and property destroyed it was a "mistake" and they refuse to pay for anything. Recently they raided some man's home, smacked two children with rifle butts, broke a bunch of stuff... and then said, "Sorry, it was supposed to be that house two blocks down" and left. In another case, they broke into a mans house at 5am, all in black, guns and all. This man was a licensed gun owner and when he woke up to a bunch of black clad men in his bedroom with him and his wife in bed at 5am, he ended up shooting 4 of them. Now he's on trial for murder. Yeah, you break into MY house at 5am without saying who you are, get shot by me, then tell ME i'm breaking the law.
The police are fast moving towards being more like Judge Dredd than Robocop, if you know what I mean, and it's horrifying that they seem to be picking on blacks, and being given free passes to break the law.
as far as Eric garner is concerned, they probably had another prosecutor in the cops pocket to get him off with an annoying day in court.
its time to address the sins of the ruling class, its time to clap them all in irons for there hands are drenched in the blood of tyranny, and the people of america demand recompense!
I simply want the powers that be to look at what's going on fairly and accurately, and not just say, "Well, it was a law enforcement official, so it's legal."
I want the officers themselves to live up to the image they're supposed to be putting out, and NOT lie and sneak and do underhanded things. Be honest; own up to their faults.
I want the people to both stop turning a blind eye to the things these police are doing, and stop overreacting and blaming everything ON the police. Some officers are good people. Others need to be watched, penalized and perhaps dismissed. Don't simply assume it's all of one or all of another.
If these things were being done, any death that was in question would be looked into. No officer would lie to cover their ass. A lot fewer people would even get killed in a suspicious way to begin with. And until that happens, we're all just gonna have to find some way to get through to everyone what needs fixing.
