Maybe it was a copyright issue? That can happen if there's a problem with the record label.

this is a case of mistaken identity, the link is to the Motion Picture Score, it is the soundtrack of all the music playing in the background like when Unicron destroys the one moon, or when the Decepticons attack that of Metaplex on Earth. That background music has nothing to do with artist copyrights or such.

Because you are looking at the orchestral version of the soundtrack and not the lyrical one. Usually depending on the movie if it has songs that feature lyrics and different artists they will release two versions of OST. One soundtrack will feature all the lyrical songs: in this case things like "The Touch" "Dare" "Dare to Stupid", etc. The other soundtrack is that of the orchestral SCORE, otherwise known as the music playing in the background of scenes that doesn't feature any words. This is a Transformers The Movie (80s version) soundtrack but it is the Original Motion Picture SCORE. This is why it doesn't list the songs you mention.

I understand the semantics of this sort of thing. I can live without a Weird Al song. But I'm pretty sure:

A. This is the only recent soundtrack for the movie
B. I'm pretty sure Stan Bush's song were made specifically for it.

It just seems so odd. Regardless of it being simply a score or not, not having the most popular song from the movie included seems ridiculous. XD

I get what you are saying those songs were created for the movie and were released on a seperate cd (I know I have it) but this is the soundtrack score for the movie you know the background music playing behind the scenes (as I told Let in an above comment) it wasn't ment to have any lyrics or the like and several movies have done this before. But according to the comments on the Amazon link you couldn't get this music before unless you specifically went to BotCons as it was unreleased (save for a few tracks that were released with the popular lyrical songs). They aren't pulling your leg or such to the fans just selling music that was only limited release before.

That one was the entire score done by Vince DiCola; excluding the songs that were included in the film done by Stan Bush, Lion, NRG, Specter General, and Weird Al. There was a previous version of this score titled "Lighting Our Darkest Hour" which included an alternate opening with Stan that was not used. Speaking of "not used"; Track number three was never used at all in the movie, replaced by "Instruments of Destruction" by aforementioned band NRG. The last track "Legacy" was actually a demo Vince had submitted.
