What's in a species?

Here's my rant for the day :P
Hey folks, Bootz here
Ya know I figured the next time I'd write a journal it'd be about something happy, but unfortunately I was told something that happened to a friend of mine just because of their particular avatar preference, or rather cause they choose to be a human on here. A friend of mine named
ilikepies just so happens to be a human on here, not that big a deal right? Well it just so happens that it is since someone happened to go out of their way to tell them that them being a human made them rather uncomfortable, why you ask? Were they malicious about it? Did he wave it in their face? Did he say something or do something to rub said person in the wrong way? Nope, they up and told them this simply cause he didn't like humans. Cause just not liking someone's personal preference is SUCH a good reason to bring it to someone's attention, especially when they do little to nothing to hurt you.
Ok folks...real talk. I'd like to start off by saying that this person just so happens to be my friend so to say that I'd be "white knighting" him would be actually correct. However I know plenty of humans on this site believe it or not, in fact I know two of 'em in real life. Why be human on a predominantly furry site? Why not? There's plenty of "human" art on here just as much as human x furry art and a majority of it happens to be quite good yet you don't see people going out of their way to tell them that they don't like them because they're human. Heck there's even a person who draws mostly humans who decided to take a stab at drawing furries here who has a web comic, wanna know what that web comic is? Between Failures. That's right folks, he has a FurAffinity. In fact one of his characters in the comic has a series of funny pics on this site. Why do I bring them up? Because they actually got a bit of flack JUST cause they started drawing furries, a majority of it being private messages. What point does this have? Basically it all boils down to one simple thing, when it really comes down to it...who gives a fuck?
Simple as that, who gives a fuck? Who gives a fuck that there's a person who prefers to be human in a stream or in a series of pictures? Who gives a fuck if that's their preference? Apparently some people do, one in particular that happened to make my friend feel uncomfortable because THEY felt uncomfortable. While it wasn't necessarily made public it was still pretty unnecessary if you ask me, if they were a dick about it or rather if they were in your face about it that'd be one thing but my friend is from from the type to do that, in fact way above it. So to my friend, you don't have to hide just cause of some one or two people who feel uncomfortable just cause of you being human. There's plenty of 'em on this place so don't feel like you gotta hide, in fact embrace it so long as your not a dick about it ^w^
And as for those who happened to voice their..."concerns" towards my friend about them being homosapien a simple request...get fuckin' bent -_- And should you view this journal and don't like it, for you I plant a 'fuck' seed. When it grows I'll be sure to give a fuck then but till such a time, get bent >:3
That's about all I got for now folks, one more quick shout out to my friend
reminding him he doesn't need to hide. He has friends no matter what species.
This is Bootz, signin' out :3

Well ilikepies maybe you should just get over trying to be different and follow the flow because of just one person. A person who is simple minded enough not to know they are practicing a form of cyber bullying.
Or better yet, maybe you should just be yourself and enjoy being around your friends and just block people like the one Boots told us of. I don't know you and barely know Boots but I'm another that would step up against this stupidity.
Don't let it get to you man. It's not worth being upset because someone else who doesn't even know you has something so very small against you. Laugh about it, or if you are like me laugh at them, because they are the one with the problem.
I've said it before and I'll say it again;
People is People is People is People, and people, are mighty tasty. Cheers
First: They hate/dislike/are uncomfortable around humans...yet it's a human behind the computer screen. Not a fox, not a wolf, or a tiger, or a gryphon, or a winged rainbow-colored sergal-unicorn-rabbit-salamander hybrid. A human. So a human saying they're uncomfortable with humans is a tad confusing, if not amusing.
Second: I am well aware that lots of furs get a hard time from non-furs due to ignorance and unfair exaggerated depictions of the fandom in the media, as I myself have been victemized in the past because of such vitriol. But since when does two wrongs make a right? They hate on us, so we should hate on them? How does that make us any different from them?
My point is, people come onto this site as a safe haven to express their fantasies and creativity without unfair judgement. Judging others because their fantasies or expressions of creativity are different from yours kind of defeats the purpose of the entire thing, does it not?
TL;DR version: Respect is a two-way street. Don't judge, and you shall not be judged. Plain and simple.
