The fur falls

Today I had a talk with my dad. What was said is not important, but I am no longer going to be as active on FA. I hate having to post this journal, but I always had a feeling I would have to. I am glad I found the good side of the fandom early. It has helped me cope with a start of depression and anxiety, made me happy, and helped me learn to be myself a little more often. I don't know if I will ever be able to return to the fandom, but if you want to keep in contact with me or see what I build, feel free to note me. Maybe I will come back after I am in college or living on my own, but until then I will be making myself scarce. Now I have to sit and watch as my fur slowly falls around me and I turn into a normal, boring human again.

I have really honestly no idea what this is about, but I just have to mention; you shouldn't ever let anybody force you to be someone you're not. If you like something, as long as it's harmless, like it all you want. Don't let anybody force you to stop liking it just because they don't.
But reaching out is good. It would probably make you feel less bad. Families have a way of making you feel like shit for something completely and totally harmless.
And it's mostly...well take a self confidence seminar and put it in an unreligion and you have Laveyan Satanism. We call it Satanism because we embrace all that Christians or Catholics, so on so forth call Sins - lust; satisfying the sexual, primal need to reproduce, wrath; being human and being a beast of the earth and being able to defend one's self, or one's loved ones, food, etc. so on and so forth. Each sin is just a part of humanity and the earth's creatures as a whole, not...some evil thing to be pushed away or smothered for fear of some higher power invented to punish or slay the supposedly "wicked."
We're not however believing that humans can just do whatever and have an excuse for it; we do have our own sins, in fact 9 of them. Y'can read em on the LVS page LaVeyanFurs. You can really just take all of them and if you gather them up the basic idea is just "don't be an asshole." Most of the presets for Laveyans are that way. Anton Szandor Lavey, the founder, was actually a very sweet man. Very theatrical, and it shows in the Satanic Bible, and his music (he played the organ), and even in the unreligion he built from the ground up.
Some other things worth mentioning are there are Laveyans you could meet that are the sweetest people in the whole world. LVS has guidelines and boundaries, the "Eleven Rules of the Earth;" two of which I'd like to specifically point out being 9 and 10, not to hurt little children, ever for any reason and never to harm an animal except for defense or food. Basically, Lavey himself knew people could take this and twist it into a reason to be an awful person and took precaution against that; the Eleven rules of the earth are also basically don't be an asshole.
It really is one of the most beautiful and concise concepts I've ever seen, and even as a little girl I believed this stuff; every bit of it, really, I just didn't know there was a thing for it until I found LVS. And I needed it too, I grew up believing I was worthless and below everyone else, and LVS really helped me take a big step in realizing that no, I'm worth much more than I give myself credit for. I really do love it to death, and the people I've met that share it, I haven't really met a bad one; at least of the people who follow it.
I apologize if I seem offensive or converting. I'm not trying to convert or insult you, it's just that LVS and Christianity are as opposite as they could get. (Theistic Satanism and Christianity are basically the same things but two sides of the coin; whereas LVS and chrisianity are true opposites. We have no deity, we embrace the sins, so on and so forth.) I tried to explain it in a way that might not strike you as an attack, and it's a little difficult. I hope it came out right. I respect your decision to believe in what you do.
I don't think that LVS is an exact opposite to Christianity, since the bible actually agrees with several of the LVS sins (I counted 6) and about 5 of the LVS rules of the earth. Theistic satanists, from my understanding, are the true opposite of Christianity since they are the people who truly want to destroy the christian faith and replace God with Satan. I've only come across one such person, but when I told him I was a christian he had an almost instant hatred of me. I always enjoy those conversations because I get to laugh about how bad they're actually making themselves and their beliefs look to an outsider. I'm sorry that your first experience with a christian had to be your dad. It always makes me disappointed when I hear about other Christians who try to force their religion on others or give a bad representation of the Christian beliefs.
I think I have used the words Christian and belief enough for this post.
I mostly get crap from Christians, really. A friend of mine even gave me crap at one point for being Laveyan, all because he was Christian. I do my best to respect people's beliefs, but when they don't respect mine too, that's when shit gets scary. I really do get it a lot; if I ever try to have a religious conversation, it's all "you're just too chicken to be theistic", and "god will send people like you to hell" even though hello, I've not done anything except not believe, damn.
It's nice to meet somebody who isn't instantly all up in arms like "OH NO SATANIST? WHERE? HE'S GOING TO SACRIFICE MY GOATS AND FEED ON MY CHILDREN" wat
(sorry if this doesn't make any sense it's late)
I'm curious, though. You said you believe non-believers will not make it into heaven. I'm not challenging your beliefs but I do want to know why you think that way; what have we done exactly? For example, a man lives his life normally; he marries, has children, raises them as best he can, and then grows old and dies. Never hurt anyone, worked hard, but he did not believe in god. What happens to him? He was an honest man, so why should he suffer in Hell with the wicked and unjust, dishonest bastards that deserve Satan's wrath? All because as a simple man he did not believe?
I find beliefs like this very interesting to discuss. I met a man who believed animals were upon the earth for Human's use and none other; meaning, he could beat, fuck or train to serve his dog or any animal he wanted as much as he wanted and receive no reprieve from god because it was "a soulless creature" god put there for that use.
He'd been jailed before but wouldn't tell me why.
Suppose if a person were to be absolutely perfect and never did anything wrong, if he didn't believe in god, he hasn't sinned against the people he's around, but has instead sinned against his own creator who holds the keys to heaven. Not believing that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins is what we call the only sin that is unforgivable in the eyes of god. That person may not have done anything to another person around him, but by not believing, that person has basically rejected the gift that Jesus gave us so we could be made pure and sinless to go to heaven. I'm not saying that we are instantly sinless if we believe, but after death our sins are forgiven and we are made in the way god originally intended before Satan convinced Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of life in the garden of Eden.
That man who you met is obviously not a christian. I just have to quote a part of the bible for this one since I don't have much better of an explanation.
Leviticus 20:15-16
15“ ‘Suppose a man has sex with an animal. Then he must be put to death. You must also kill the animal.
16“ ‘Suppose a woman has sex with an animal. Then kill the woman and the animal. They must be put to death. Anything that happens to them will be their own fault.
Why does god hate bestiality so much? This sums it up fairly well.
Leviticus 18:23
23“ ‘Do not have sex with an animal. Do not make yourself “unclean” by doing that. A woman must not offer herself to an animal to have sex with it. That is a twisted use of sex.
The bible clearly shows a hatred for bestiality. It also shows homosexuality as being one of the worst sins, but not unforgivable, but that's a whole other story involving a city being destroyed by god because of it.
I hope I'm not starting to look like one of those Christians who memorizes every line of the bible. Most people can't do that, and most of the pastors only memorize certain important parts. I still have to finish reading it sometime. And don't worry about me feeling like I'm being challenged in my religion. I like to be able to talk to others without boundaries that keep me from talking about different subjects. To be honest, you're the first person I've talked to who isn't a christian and is trying to understand it. I think that when people are talking face to face, they tend to build up those borders and these types of conversations can't happen without somebody loosing their temper or the whole topic is avoided to try to protect another person's feelings.
also remember - the real spirit of leadership and success is when you do whatever the fuck you want.
Just for the sake of good analogy - did you see the Wolf of the Wall street? Remember the humming scene? He did not give a fuck about anyone around, because when you are free in your mind, you just don't care
