Tylo.
Ironically, I played two of my friends' 3DS, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Pokemon X in these past couple of days..
.. so I bought a 3DS XL, picked that up for $100, Animal Crossing: New Leaf for $34.99, and Pokemon X for $39.99 > < Yay for spending Christmas money to buy yourself Christmas presents! > <;
If anyone has a friend code thingy, Note me and we can be friends and stuff.

Animal Crossing New Leaf and Pokémon X will definately keep you playing for a long while if you want to experience everything they offer to you.
Animal Crossing has all kinds of events through the year, thousands of items you can obtain and keeps surprising you with sweet little details popping up at times. Like in Pokémon you can spend a lot of time collecting everything and enjoy the relaxing gameplay while going for all little achievements.
Can't say much more about Pokémon X and Y as that they will satisfy most Pokémon game fans with their typical style of exploration and Pokémon collecting. I am especially interested in trying out Pokémon-amie and the characters that I will encounter with in the Kalos region. (-^.=.^-)
Plus, a 3DS XL thats practically brand new for $100? My mom just spent $229 on my little brother's back in October for his birthday; I couldn't pass up that deal!
