A Saucerful of Secrets

Holy shit, I'm already 2/3 of the way through my Advanced EMT class D:
This class has been much harder than Basic, and the whole thing feels like it's been rushing by, far more so than my Basic class. I was freaking out for a while -- I worried that with the added difficulty and how fast it felt like it was going that I wasn't gonna be able to keep up, and although I got an A on my first division exam, a handful of people dropped out of the class after that... the threat is real, man. No games. Win or die. Winter is coming. But my fears were allayed when I discovered I got an A on my most recent division exam, and that my overall grade in the class is an A. I'm doin' okay.
Even as challenging as this class is, I enjoy it greatly. It forces me to push myself, I love having something worthwhile to spend my time on again, and it's one of the few places I really feel a sense of mutual respect with the people there -- I really enjoy my classmates and I always come out of a night of class feeling good. Can't say that about most places.
For those unaware, this course requires you to complete two 12 hour shifts in an ER, one each in two different hospitals, and two 12 hour shifts on an ambulance going on real calls and doing real work, with the point being that you spend time practicing skills and equipment use on real patients under supervision, as well as learning how to interact with hospital staff. Sunday night I did my first ER shift. I was anxious, but there was more to do than the shift I spent there in Basic, and the RN I shadowed gave me perfect marks on my assessment. Got another shift tonight at another hospital's ER, right after one of my classmates, and then the next two weeks I have my ambulance shifts. Scary. ;.=.;
Other than that I don't have much to report on... We got another cat, though! Her name's Wile E. and she's a sweetheart :3 I haven't drawn for a while, unfortunately. I've also not been searching for a job as hard as I was over the summer, mostly because I prefer to focus on doing well in this class for the time being. I put in another application to work as a Special Events Basic, though. Still trying, essentially. I've also become rather fond of Pink Floyd lately and been listening to Nine Inch Nails more frequently. I've also been getting headaches and fatigued eyes lately... I could probably use a visit to the optometrist again. x.=.x
