A number of people I know have already left FA over this desciscion, and I may be following suite.
I left yiffy.net after so many of the threads seemed to be turning into pedophilic fantasys.
Before anyone bitches at me that "it's just fantasy", understand that I know that. Just like any other fantasy? No, not by a long shot.
When you're sitting there jerking off to tentacles invading every conceivable body cavity, fine. Your call. Drawings of fuzzballs tied to beds, being reamed by half a dousen elephantine guys. Sure, knock yourselves out.
Beating it to images of someone who'se laying in a pool of blood, half their teeth laying on the floor? Nuh-uh. Creaming your pants when you see a piccie of a girl being dragged down and raped in the bathroom of some seedy club? Not a chance shitpump.
See, I have nothing against the art in general. Hell, it takes balls to draw something as distastfull as that, and people have the right to draw what they like. What I can't swallow is any art that glamourises, even sexualy promotes, what is nothing more than utterly non-consentual RAPE and ABUSE.
You're fantasising, I understand that, but you're fantasising over raping someone who cannot fight back, over someone who has no coping mechanisms to ever recover. You are fantasising over utterly destroying a life.
If you're stroking off over these things THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU.
99% of you who are drooling over the pictures of Rebbeca Cunningham's daughter getting pounded by Baloo will surely not go out and do something like this in the real world. It still doesn't mean that it's not reinforcing a very dangerous pattern in your mind. That pattern leads to other things. Like abusing your partners, for example, or encouraging others with the same sickness.
A month or two back, a friend of mine shew me something very interesting. A baby-fur site that contained endless amounts of images and stories far worse than anything I've seen on FA thus far.
In a little sub-directory there was something else too. Photographs.
Not what you're thinking, but photographs and plans of places like childrens birthday favourite 'Chuck-E-Cheese'. Plans marked with quick escape routes to the car park, or nearby woods.
Pretty fucking detailed 'fantasys' there Bob.
Oh you'd never do it? It's just to enhance the fantasy?
That level of detail is fantasising over actually doing the act. You're just scared of getting caught.
Here's the biggie. If I could give you a plan you could use to fufil these fantasys, and garuntee 100% that you would not, now or ever, get caught. Would you do it?
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that if this Perfect Plan were given out to the people fantasising over these images of fictional children, one out of every ten would go do it without hesitation.
I've been to cons and furmeets, and met people who're into this shoddy crap. About 20% (to be favourable) are into a quite understandable desire to have something sweet and inocent involved in thier lives, both sexual and otherwise. A good 70% are just a bit weird and disturb me like mini chuthulu's. You look at them and feel your sanity ebbing away. Then there's that last 10%. They're the ones you talk to and they're not there. Their mind's constantly somewhere else imaginging the things they'd be doing if they weren't so shit scared of the consequences. These are the ones to be scared of. They're the ones that only need a touch of encouragment and self-righteousness to get their hard on and level up.
Pedophillia is rape and abuse. It is the ultimate in power-play for these people, and the victims do not have a say in it. And I beleive it is utterly wrong to be fantasising over any non-consentual act. A child is not developed enough to make the choice.
Will I be staying around here in the light of this descision? Maybe, maybe not. Certainly not if there's a sudden spike in this crap. And probably not in the long run either. While this site's a great gift to the artist community in general (what with being FREE and all), it doesn't inspire confidence that they'd rather change the rules than enforce them.
