Anyone out there know anything about photoshopping iridescence effects?

I'm working on colouring a piece and I am having a hell of a time with it.

Oh sure, I know lots about it. Could probably teach a class just about it. A very short class, but still. Too bad I'm far to busy to help, otherwise I would gladly share my knowledge.
