Well, I guess it would be bioluminescence. The reason for it is because Raigan's egg was dropped shortly after it was laid. He didn't get killed by the drop, but it did inflict a number of mutations on the little unborn dragon, amoung which is that his cheeks and tailtip glows pink in certan situations. He doesn't have any tailspkes because of this either, and his growth also became stunted as a result, meaning that while he will still grow older like the rest of his family, his physical body mostly stpped growing when he was about 8 years old :)
