Thoughts on ME3 Leviathan (spoiler free)

With moderate expectations I started on the Leviathan DLC (The first pay dlc pack for ME3) And by golly to my shock I actually liked it!
The trailer gave us a explosion slug fest but in fact it's not really the case, though there is plenty of action, compared to some of the other DLC in ME2 here it's more toned down. The missions you get with this DLC also have a healthy dose of investigation and (though sometimes a bit limited) amount of exploration, I might say the diversity is on the same level as Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC of ME2, that and the same length as this new installment has a nice beefy amount of gameplay.
I might even say it's a bit longer than LOTSB as for the first time the crew you take with you now have their own unique lines during the missions, but also in between be sure to check on your crew on the Normandy as they have a say in how the search and the war progresses. So there is more to see and to do, it's a positive change from the not so talkative or even mute crew during all the other DLC missions.
Funny enough and this is something I did not expect there is little to pick on, without giving anything away the writing was very solid and even gave a few surprises that I did not see coming, voice acting as always is something you know Bioware can deliver and this is no exception. Perhaps my only gripes was the underwater level which was really beautiful but somewhat a missed opportunity unless they decide to try this concept again with another water planet which I know want to experience more than ever.........Still it's clear they used this with different intentions and for the most part it worked great.
I still have to finish the ME3 game assault on earth with this new installment and though I an expecting little to no change it still gave much more insight on the Reapers that works really well with the new extended ending that came out this summer, I am very eager to see what it brings though. Though people might say it will not change the game I say despite that I had a lot of fun which is the whole idea behind it plus it gave lots of extra content.
Great single player DLC and well worth the price of 800 Bioware Points, so come one don't spend them on Spectre Packs and give this one a try!
