Manly Tears

So this was an idea kinda brought up in a conversation with a buddy. We were talking about how so few movies, especially nowadays, have the heart to really cause a significant emotional reaction. You know, stuff that moves us whether it makes us afraid, uplifts our spirits and makes us smile or even cry. This got us talking about tearjerkers because I was determined to make my friend cry, which I did but I digress. XD
So basically I have two questions for you the lovely readers. First, do you feel movies are becoming a heartless mire of 3D, CGI, Michael-Baysian explosions (or not) and second, are there any movies that made you cry? I'll share mine if you share yours. SPOILERS!
Here's hoping for some interesting replies.

When you say older Disney movies how old are you talking? I know Lion King and Bambi tend to get people.
Lion King (I think everyone knows which part I speak of)
Toy Story 3
I'll post more when I remember what movies do lol
Lion King - for obvious reasons
Land Before Time - still never able to watch it without tears
Teminator 2 - when the T-800 effectively commits suicide in front of John Conner
As for songs with the same effect:
Hurt, by Johnny Cash. So many reasons for why. You need to see it to understand why. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o22eIJDtKho
The death of Zack Fair in FFVII: Crisis Core and the death of Aerith Gainsborough in FFVII are serious tearjerker moments, though they've already been mentioned.
One that hasn't though. It comes from Japan. Their Super Sentai franchise. Specifically the 16th incarnation known as Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger (Dinosaur Squadron Beast Ranger) and the 42nd episode titled simply, 'Durai Dies'.
Although known since episode 21 that Burai only had 30 hours worth of life having already died once before, it's still next to impossible to witness his final moments without tears, even without subtitles.
Even his Guardian Beast, Dragon Ceasar (Dragonzord to those who know the MMPR Franchise) is left in a state of mourning and severe depression throughout the subsequent episode 'Revive Zyushokun'.
You need to watch it, to truly now it.
"Superman" *Closes eyes* ;.=.;
*After a temporary cryfest...*
I admit that I am into endings or scenes that are trying to bring up the mood where the given circumstances and atmosphere brings viewers into tears. It's a clear sign that the writers tried to bring more feelings to the movie rather than just unnecessary drama or non-stop Micheal Bay-Jay-Splosions, they wanted to focus on making the movie at least memorable in a way, if not via action or goofyness, then via emotional way.
Even some games I've played brought these feelings successfully. Admireable and disheartening that these things won't be so well done in the near future.
Oh and we shouldn't forget Hokuto no Ken series (80's version) that had many of them, depending on the episodes.
Though I must say, at the time I didn't cry when seeing this but I did feel a very sad. I guess it was part of that time in my life where machoness actually mattered to me. This changed last year I think when I beat Mother 3/earthbound 2. Man that game is deep. Aeriths death in FF7 sure as hell has nothing on it. I wept like a baby at that ending lol. There isn't even any visual animation in it either. It was mostly text xD
