Since about, oh, August at the earliest, we've been getting calls from "Tom at Home Security" offering us to demo some kind of home security system. I figured out after the second time they called that the person was a recording, because it introduces itself, asks how you're doing, waits for you to say something, and then responds in the same way every time. Not to mention, "Home Security" is as much a legitimate corporation as "Card Holder Services" (we get calls from them, too) or "Financial Institution" (I made that up, but I'd be willing to believe it exists). After I determined that, I just started hanging up on them.

So today, they called around noon and I hung up. They just called again, and I, feeling slightly punchy, waited for Tom to ask how I was doing before shouting, "GOOOOO FUCK YOURSELF! :D"

I have never in my life hung up a phone more quickly. ._.;;;

Now, I do not feel bad about having done this, let me get that straight. We took down the information finally and are going to report them to the AG because DNC (PDQ). But oh my god... It was like I'd seen a ghost, I was so shocked. D: I'm still having that "g-g-g-ghost" feeling a little bit. I can only imagine that it is actually a recording, but that someone's monitoring it. That's the only thing, in my mind, that makes sense, because it's been exactly the same every time except for the laugh.

Goddamn. ._.;

Update: They called back at 6 with the same recording and I apologized, to no reaction. XD I plan to carry on a conversation with them from now on.
