Slight problem here. It is the office of Film and Literature Publication that made the ruling. They are an independent government body that do not have to release any of their findings. Parliament have no control over their actions and all this little exercise will do is give the OFLC an excuse to refuse classification on other sensitive media.

I live in America as well, but there are people on this site who do live in Australia. So I look at it as, my fellow brother and sisters and everyone in between are being denied to view something that is perfectly legal.

Not this shit again. The Australian government has not banned small breasts. The classification board takes breast size into account as an indicator of how young the model appears to be. Note that, as the law has been written for a long time, the criteria for whether or not a particular work is acceptable is not how old the model actually is but only how old they appear to be.

There are problems with this approach, namely the fact that there's nothing unnatural or unusual about adult women with small breasts (they are lovely), and the dangerous precedent that mere appearance is sufficient to link a person to one of the most heinous acts imaginable. But it really saddens me - no, it used to sadden me, now it pisses me off - when people shout nonsense that Australia has banned small breasts, or even go so far as to suggest that Australia equates small breasts with paedophilia. That's bullshit. The real story is more complex and subtle than that.

Should the situation be changed? Yes, certainly. But as I'm sure everyone here will understand, getting the government to give two shits about what most of the population have to say on the matter (and most Aussies are reasonable, tolerant people) is easier said than done.

Not that I should be complaining when you're proposing that artists draw more boobies, but still, this story irks me because it always gets blown beyond reasonable proportions, and people inevitably start badmouthing Australia without actually having the faintest clue what is going on.

If she model or actress is 18, bottom line, that's it. There shouldn't be nothing else to it. But now a girl with small breasts is less likely to work in the industry because she doesn't want fake tits. That's where things become a problem to me.

And I agree with you there. This is actually just one symptom of a thoroughly broken classification system in Australia (another being the lack of an adults-only classification for video games). There are regular murmurings of updating or overhauling the system, but every time an attempt at change is made puritan pukes manage to poison it. It's very frustrating.

The only change that happened was that somebody (from an opposing political party) noticed that the classification board (which is not the government, by the way) takes breast size into account in its determination of apparent age. The legality of apparent age has always been in place. "Base instincts"? What? No, this is about a years-old and superficially reasonable-sounding law being taken to it's logical conclusion and thereby shown to be fundamentally flawed.
