So I don't generally have a lot of physical creative talent.... I'm horrible at artwork, can't sculpt for a mound of dirt, and have no general crafting skill.

But you ever have those moments of inspiration that take you beyond your normal self, and don't let go until you've finished them (or at least tried your best?) I've had one of those with me for a few years, and today decided it was time to pick it back up.

A long time ago, I found a 'natural' walking stick in the Gatineau Hills. It's a sturdy staff (about 3-1/2 feet long) with a natural handle. I was actually able to lace a leather thread and stone into it at one point, giving it a more mystical appearance. The problem is that it's literally deadfall - I've whittled off most of the bark, but never got around to properly treating it/protecting it from the elements and time.

With my first major conventions coming up this year, I figure it's time to finish what was started a while ago. Hopefully, by the end of the week, I'll have a nice® staff to show off ^.^
