Ink

I've a picture I'm working on at the suggestion of a friend on FM, and I finished the sketch today. I've been planning to paint it with watercolor--I've already got it cleaned up and transferred to watercolor paper pending addition of details--but I decided to whip out a scrap of paper and try a few things with paint and decide whether I'm going to ink it before I continue. Or perhaps do it in colored pencil instead, which is still a possibility.
Anyway, I tried some stuff with the pens, then on a whim, tried a brush in this little bottle of Speedball ink I've had sitting around for a couple of years.
I'm hooked. I absolutely -love- the way the ink goes on with a brush. Even more, I like how it works with watercolor... going on before or after the paint. This is definitely something I'm going to keep working with.
I'll probably post the cleaned-up sketch in scraps in a couple of days. I rather like how it came out, even if it's not quite exactly what I was aiming for.
Education is a process.
