As I sit here, getting ready for work, idly completing parts of my remaining commissions, I'm reflecting on the experience of doing commissions for the first (well, second) time.
Overall, it's been a pretty good one for me. Even with a few hiccups here and there, it feels as if, for the most part, it's been fulfilling. I really like to latch onto the aspect of it that helps someone's desires come to life. The people who are really into it are the most fun, because at some point, it's almost like a collaboration. Some ideas can at times be dull and unoriginal, but others can be incredibly different and interesting. I feel like I was taken out of my immediate comfort zone enough to challenge me, but not so much that it would've been like taking some college course on cubism.
Now, this latest batch took a long time. I tried to prioritize based on when I received each person's information and whatnot, but in the end, I just ended up really taking a while. It's been a few months, and I'm almost done, but it really felt like a stretch on the last third. So I definitely think I'm going to cut down my list to maybe about 4-5 in the future when I take commissions again.
But! I'd like to know, if you got a commission from me, what you thought of the experience. Were you satisfied, did I do anything you didn't like, did you feel the price was fair? Heck, even if you didn't, let me know what you think of my prices, reaction time, etc. from the outside- has it made you want one from me any more or less?
Also, I cannot wait for the new Castlevania and Splatterhouse to come out! Is anyone else excited about either one of these? Until they come out, I guess I'll have to temper my excitement on GaoGaiGar and Overman King Gainer. Between the two, I'm not sure which series is weirder, to be quite honest.

Oh how I missed that show. I still need to watch king gainer, I've been putting it off forever.
I may have been at an advantage with mine, based entirely on the fact that you were already pretty ecstatic about the idea even before hand, but I found your genuine interest in what you were drawing me most compelling. Both times! If I remember correctly, I've gotten more than one thing with you, and whether or not they were all commissions or not (I forget), you still seemed to approach it all in much the same way.
You wanted to know about what you were drawing on a deeper level than any person I have ever commissioned, ever. And in learning such things, you were able to craft an idea perfectly suited to the characters themselves.
I know people who would absolutely love to commission you. I forget who they are, but I know they exist. I would highly recommend they do as soon as they can, too.

Yeah, I unfortunately slowed down because of problems in that weird 'real life' place, and it was just a bad situation. I definitely learned some lessons.
Ah-ha! I thought it was probably a little high. I'll have to think about that.
