Alternative to Commissions

Hello! I’ll try and make this short and sweet.
It’s been on my mind for a long time but when I started this account I had plans to set up commissions as a nice little side gig. However, from my overall experience I realize how unfulfilling they are due to the fact I’m never satisfied with the results which also makes me feel like I'm letting the commissioner down.
I've feel much better just being able to share what I've made within my spare time. Plus, I don't post a lot already and that's due to my process being extremely slow and other life priorities... which leads into my question.
I could keep doing what I'm doing and post once or maybe twice a year, or I could work on an art pack that will have 10 images and sold for *money*. I just want to have some feedback before I would start on such a project. I would hate to spend all that time and effort away from other priorities to not have anyone interested in the end.
I know it sucks to comment on posts like this, but if you have a spare minute or two to let me know your thoughts or just a simple yes or no.
Just seeing if there are other possible outlets to make a few bucks through art besides commissions.
Thank youuuu~

Growth drives can be popular, but I think the conceit is usually that the artist is in dire financial straits, so people might not appreciate you making that your bread-and-butter. Still, people tend to enjoy them, presuming it gets enough momentum early on. Head-to-head growth drives are also fun, but of course they also double the workload.
I imagine you'd regard YCHs as roughly the same as a commission, but it does give you the leeway to create a pose and background you feel satisfied with, and can presume that whoever bids on the YCH feels pretty good about what they're seeing, too.
Patreon and Ko-fi have always been a thing, and they have their baggage, but some people might be willing to toss a couple of bucks into the coffee can to see WIPs or get early access to art.
If you want to specifically sell something, though, you might also figure out how to make a VN or interactive story featuring your art. Definitely harder, and maybe not as accessible as images, but they do make the purchase feel more special. ... And, as an added bonus, are at least somewhat more difficult to just grab the pictures from and then post to an image board.
Those would be my ideas, anyway.
A Patreon or resorting to YCH’s might be a more reasonable approach in my case so that’ll give those ideas a second thought.
Gonna keep your whole response in mind though for future reference, thank you again!
I would be interested of course, as would a good number of your core fanbase I'm sure, but the hardest part is getting the word out there, and keeping people's attention.
Sufficient teasers, mentioning it often enough, having the right people spread the word, etc
Just asking for interest might not be enough, depending on what sort of return you're looking for with the pack.
Doing it solely on FA might not pan out the best for spread, all the art packs I've seen that do best end up being promoted on several sites in addition to FA, like Twitter (Formerly known as X), and Bluesky, sites sorta built around sharing.
Even then, the Al Gore Rhythm might end up screwing you for not having the link in a seperate reply done at noon on a friday right after a blood sacrifice, or whatever posting trick to avoid deranking works on twitter these days.
Just things to consider, from my view looking in (and perhaps a conversation or two I've had with an Artist™) :)
And you’re right, the stars could totally align perfectly but then I’ll roll a 1 for luck at the last moment and get magically screwed over in the end.
Who knows, if I decide to go through with it I’ll keep all this in mind and try to plan carefully how I go about releasing it.
Thanks for the words Aurum!
Hope you can find something that works for you :)
