Today my task was two fold. First I wanted to remove the damned language bar and with some tooling ( that wasn't as complicated as I thought) I completly removed it from the desktop.

Next I wanted to create a quick launch bar like in XP and Vista. This turns out is not a big hassle. The hassle part is getting right back where the old Quick Launch bar used to be. Dragging from the taskbar seems to be rather impossible at the moment/

I am a fairly patient guy so I'll just wait and see if I can do it at another time.

Edit: I figured it out and got the quick launch all the way back to where I had it in Vista and XP.
