No more Twitter for personal use

So yeah, I decided to delete my main personal account on Twitter (two weeks ago in fact!).
It has nothing to do with the whole Twitter takeover saga (it didn’t help though), but rather due to the fact that the “addictively negative” nature of the platform was beginning to take a toll on my mental wellbeing and I decided that it was time to stop.
While I appreciate the platform’s ability to connect and interact with other furries, I find it brings out the parts of the fandom I enjoy least…
One of the biggest issues is this massive race/addiction towards getting as many likes/re-tweets/followers as possible… Appealing to the most common denominator rather than expressing genuine/unique interests since that doesn’t ‘get the views,’ which has made the fandom a little dull and uninteresting in my eyes.
It also doesn’t help that some folks on the platform have adopted this ‘influencer/superior complex’ attitude… Writing up pointless ‘hot takes’ in this a passive aggressive tone to ‘lecture their audience,’ dying on hills about ‘issues’ that don’t really matter, public ‘clap-backs’ between folks that could have been sorted out in private (or plainly ignored).
—
I bring up these issues in particular as they were all things that I have been involved in (addictively so) and I realized just how bad it has gotten for me… I started bring up Twitter instinctually whenever I have my phone in my hand, I have been loathing my own art since it wasn’t getting enough ‘attention’, and constantly checking notifications to see if people liked my latest tweet… It was just time to take a step back.
You may feel that these are not big issues and that the benefits of the platform heavily outweighs the negative, and that is completely fair! It is just getting a bit too much for me personally.
I am still keeping my smaller Merrywood Twitter account up for the time being (since I only use it to post art), and I will be active on here, Telegram and soon Discord… (I am thinking of setting up a Tumblr account soon to give that a go!).
Thanks for reading and catch ya all later! :)

FA+

There is a lot of drama and overall negativity as Twitter rewards that kind of behaviour, and it seems to only be getting worse.
I will be active on FA so I can be kept in touch with here. c:
It’s at a point where I am not getting much benefit from it, so it’s best just to step away… I can always be contacted elsewhere.
there you go. no benefits, no need to stay. true enough! I know where I can always reach you anyways. ^^
Meanwhile on Tumblr I've managed i make genuine friends and have yet to get into any "cancel culture" drama bc they don't seem to care about that stuff. The most "hate and negativity" I've seen was that abdl/diaperfur shouldn't be mixed with babyfur/agere debate (which I totally get bc actual baby/kid OCs shouldn't be lumped as nsfw just bc of some adults in diapers) but NOTHING like Twitter.
Besides, tags aren't used there "just to get on trending" It's mainly used for organisation, fandom finding and to meme people without it effecting the main post lol. Also, no character limit and up to 30 images, meaning it's better for comic artists and story writers lol.
Been meaning to give Tumblr a try! Would be nice to start setting my art up on another site and not worry about all that intense ‘drama’ over non-sensical things. c:
We have cookies lmao
