I only sort of understand why people are ditching Twitter... what's the main concern, if I may ask? (is it more related to having functional commission / blocking features?)

It might help me better understand (and possibly give me reason to leave too).

There's also the fact that Elon Musk just bought it out. You know how insanely rich idiots are when they get their hands on a social media platform.

I'm not sure I was aware of a specific situation where that happened (eg. someone took over an existing platform)

Well, there's also the fact that Spaz came to a personal decision that Twitter's hurting him more than it's helping him. It's not just a bandwagon thing, he'd be doing this whether or not the news was on it. The site's been driving away NSFW artists kinda like Tumblr did, and it's far more difficult to be seen and appreciated there too. FA and Itaku are just more stable platforms by comparison.

Considering how bad it is now, quality can only go UP with musk in charge. just think, people not getting banned anymore because of being on "the wrong side of politics" or even having different opinions.

Well, i'm not a Twitter user nor em interested in any addictive social network, specially the internet cancer known as Twitter, but i've got to recognize that it does have an impact on society, and political censorship, cancelation campaigns and such have been a major issue there, and given that, unfortunately, that cesspool is highly relevant to society, politics, elections, journalism, and other issues, it is vital that it's censorship problem is dealt with, and as far as i know, Elon seems to be against that, so i see that as a good thing.

But i'm still not gonna use that crap.

If people really were getting banned for those things then why are conservative pundits like Jack Posobiec, Andy Ngo and so many others still on. Jack was given a 12 hour suspension just for one comment and that was it.

that was a terms of service violation in response to the Jan 6 riots. Besides there's plenty of other conservatives running around on twitter who never got suspended

Twitter is a cesspool, I don't know why some people are just figuring this out.

Perhaps because they don't engage on it or use it for anything other than checking out specific content (sort of like how Pinterest requires registration to view any actual amount of content)..? 🙀
