Chapter 3, progress update

Hello
I think I owe everyone an update. There's been some questions on progress here and there. So here's an update and a question for you in return, dear reader, at the end.
I wont beat around the bush. Short of it is Chapter 3 is being worked upon, but it's far from finished. I have no estimate for release as things stand.
The longer explanation.
I had hoped it would be further along, but I was not able to reach the milestones of progress I had planned for 2021.
To explain. While 2020 was a terrible year for most, it was a good year for me to work on my personal projects. I had a lot of free time I could use for non-stop focus. I churned out most of the work on Chapter 2 during this year.
2021, I am fully back at my job and it's been very stressful. Which has resulted in most of my spare time going to rest an recovery.
I wont lie, I've had times (a few days off here or a free afternoon and evening there) where I could have been working on Chapter 3 but haven't been able to muster the motivation. I feel guilty about it, but it is what it is.
I never liked new years resolutions, but I've thought about how to manage my time better this year to at least get some more consistent work done, so i don't have to waste time to find and pick up my loose threads every time I try to work on Aweworld.
I have some grand story ideas for Chapter 3. But I do wonder sometimes, should I limit the scope of the story and focus on the Vore?
How invested are you into the story in Aweworld? Is it more of a backdrop and fuel for Vore scenarios or does the adventures of Avolc and her crew captivate you and the vore is a bonus?
No wrong answers here. This project started out with the intent of the story being a backdrop.
I'd like to thank those who have sent encouragement my way and/or donated to the kofi. You know who you are! It's helped pay for the hosting of Aweworld but also some new art for the coming chapter as well as Chapter 2 that I will be putting in soon. I'll post a picture of one of them to let you know when I have.

FA+

The different forms and reasons for the vore kink has not gotten in the way of the story as there was a reason for it to happen.
I want to dedicate the time to actually playing and getting invested, but such opportunities are few and far between anymore.
It's also understandable that you don't work on it if you don't find the motivation or are too exhausted to do so. When you're not in the right mindset, odds are the quality of your work will suffer for it. It's better to push forward when you are in a better mood to write and feel more inspired, as short and rare as those moments might be.
On the other hand, if these are too rare, you may not go anywhere anytime soon, so I also understand you wanting to get through Chapter 3 even when you're not in a 100% writer mood. All in all, whatever pace you think is fair for your story's production is up to you.
As for the question about vore and story? I'd say vore is a good thing and all, but the first time I play through the chapters that you release, I don't play it searching for kinks or vore, but rather I try to play it more seriously, weighing actions, benefits and concequences in each case, making decisions based on story, not hunger. I'd say the vore is a pretty good complement, and at the end of the chapter it's fun to go about trying to find all the hidden vore scenes, but the story should be put first and foremost.
If vore is all a player cares about, there's plenty of vore art and stories out there in FA. However, what you're doing with this story and game goes beyond simple noms.
Anyway, just take your time and try to do your best. Needless to say, I'm a great fan of your work. I wish you the best of luck. Keep being awesome. :3
The vore is also great, and I think one of the stronger its points is that it feels so well connected to the world and the situations, instead of being an extra between a section and the next. Maybe it's this harmony that makes me like this game so much.
While I admit I can't wait to accompany captain Avolc in more adventures (hoping that Keeper will try to nab some naive crew members), do take the time you need. This project shows a lot of passion, so going at a pace you find comfortable would be the best.
I only played chapter 1 so i can't judge as a whole, but from what i played, it was simply a fun adventure to go throught with likeable characters! ^^
Write as you feel best, though, I feel is the most important advice~
not that there's anything wrong with soulless smut, it just doesn't hold my interest for very long, personally. So this is just my opinion.
Though there are some bits of non-vore writing in it I do enjoy.
I've also been enjoying the story as well. I don't see a lot of vore-themed military fiction and I think that it works out surprisingly well, both as a means for vore and as a story in it's own right. So yeah, I'd say I'm pretty invested lol
As far as streamlining the story, I don't have a lot of experience with writing or making text adventures, but the vagaries of game development are what they are. If something's not meeting your standards or you're trying to meet a deadline, I don't think anyone is going to fault you for scaling it back or cutting it entirely.
Were this game only focused on vore, without the story involved, it would lose its magic to me. I like how you involved vore as an integral part of the world, and seeing that gone only to be replaced by carved-out little vore scenarios would hurt it quite a bit.
With that said... the quality of your writing is top notch, and I often return to my favourite scenes within the game, having explored most of its story. So all in all, I adore Aweworld for both the story and the kinky stuff, but ultimately I keep coming back to it for the vore scenes.
Also, don't feel the need to push yourself for this project. If you need some time away to de-stress, then take it.
Either way, tl;dr I would really like to see more vore scenes for sure but I do adore the world you've created as well.
I don't know why you're asking this question.
Obviously, most of us happened to find your game because we took interest in vore.
However, if your game was only about a line buffet of vore scene, your game would already be forgotten with so much absenteism.
But it's not the case, since you have created with your story a fantasy world which is only yours and is your mark/brand.
Moreover, your interactiv story is, at my knowledge of vore game, the only one on the subject of piracy and happening on a boat, what arouse our interest. In addition, I think you have already deemed yourself necessary to write a lot of story to "backdrop" vore scenes, since you already understood it's easier to write one if you can explain logically to the player why it happens, and it's only more intesresting if you vary reasons which make them happening, the situation where they happen, if you include a variety of charracters involved in these scenes, etc.
Furthermore, on a gameplay point of view, we can be even more interested to what happens to the crew since even if one of the member die, it don't mean a game over for the player, a loss or a victory only affecting your acknoledgment at taking the good decision at the end of the game.
So, to conclude, i would say to you to not rely only on vore and to take time to developp your story. There's a lot of vore game which exist, but only the story will at the end make you sad to lose a crewmate, happy to win against a foe, etc. Only a good story can make your game a game above the others.
