There is no sun, there is no sky. There is nothing but darkness.
Below is a liquid, thick and black. Above is nothing.
A group of wizards ride a large dog though the sea of black goop. Their goal, is to reach something.
Its dark, and cold. There is nothing to eat, the dog needs food and so do the wizards. The world lacks what they need to survive their journey.
So they decide to take what they need from other worlds.
Its dark there is no sun, its cold and nothing can grow due to the lack…of well the sun. So, they yanked a sun from another world. A different world, with different rules.
They remove a spire, ontop of a mountain. An ancient temple, the home of a queen and they place it down onto the dogs back. Dirt and rock, the entire mountain cut away from its original place.
The inhabitants of the spire, feed a light. That worlds sun. Those are the rules of that world.
The wizards take what they need, and those are their rules. Their world now, with its own sun ontop of their swimming dog.
Now with a sun, they move onto their next need. Food. Food for their dog, food for themselves and food for the inhabitants of the spire so they may continue to keep the sun lit.
They take settlements, land, inhabitants from other worlds.
And they place them down ontop of their dog. To farm for them.
They take what they need, and place it ontop of their world. Those are their rules.
The world their world, their dog swims though’s rules however are different.
Their rule is nothing. Just void. The swimming dog, this world covered in things breaks this rule. So they, must correct.
Nothing attacks something.
The wizards defend their world, but this is a lot of work.
After a while, they get annoyed with having to constantly defend villagers. Having to replace lost land. Lost beings.
So they grab up what they need from other worlds.
Forts, castles and so on. Filled with fighters, to protect the farmers who supply them with the food they need.
Those fighters require food of their own, so the wizards have to bring in more farms.
And so on, and so on
What the wizards need they take, and they add it onto the back of the dog. Their world.
Forever, until they reach where they’re going.
